Defensive Training: Dwarves get a +4 dodge bonus to AC against monsters of the giant subtype.
Greed: Dwarves receive a +2 racial bonus on Appraise skill checks made to determine the price of nonmagical goods that contain precious metals or gemstones.
Hatred: Dwarves receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the orc and goblinoid subtypes due to special training against these hated foes.
Hardy: You receive a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against poison, spells, and spell-like abilities.
Stability: Dwarves receive a +4 racial bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense when resisting a bull rush or trip attempt while standing on the ground.
Stonecunning: Dwarves receive a +2 bonus on Perception checks to potentially notice unusual stonework, such as traps and hidden doors located in stone walls or floors. They receive a check to notice such features whenever they pass within 10 feet of them, whether or not they are actively looking.
Weapon Familiarity: You are proficient with battleaxes, heavy picks, and warhammers, and treat any weapon with the word “dwarven” in its name as a martial weapon.
Jump Modifier (Core 88): You gain a -4 to jump checks.
Campaign Traits:
Armor Expert (APG 327): When you wear armor of any sort, reduce that suits armor check penalty by 1*, to a minimum check penalty of 0.
Touched by the Sea (APSkS 7): You gain a +1 trait bonus on Swim checks* and Swim is a class skill* for you. In addition, penalties on attack rolls made underwater are lessened by 1.
Deck Fighter (FoB 20): You gain a +1 trait bonus on attacks of opportunity when fighting aboard a ship.
Kashmyk was born into a fishing family near the city of Janderhoff. This young dwarf learned the fishing trade at his fathers side. It was during this time that he grew into his four foot, one hundred and ninety pound frame with Blondish hair, and piercing blue eyes.
It was during his time with his father, that he was taught the basics on how to handle himself, and how to look out after other things.
For a number of years, he and his father continued to fish until one day, he was pressed into service on a merchant ship. After 2 years on the merchant ship, where he kept trying to leave. He finally resigned himself to the sea, and to make the best of it.
The ship ported in Port Peril, where he decided to go for an ale in the local drinking establishments.
After a bit of walking, he found himself in the Formidably Maid.
