There was no result for the fort save I think.. But in case I made the save.
Gezzo and Thorgrim shake off the cobwebs trying to enter their minds...
Oh wait, I guess that was for the Will save, wasn't it. Too danged many saves flying around in this game!
Nice hit by the way, keep it up. We need to take this corruption down before she does much more damage.
Cеlif
Agreed! Being welcomed into this group is one of the things for which I'm giving thanks today.
By the way, Gezzo...
Your curse may have weakened my body, but not my resolve!
I admit Celif mentally added, Nor your penchant for being insufferable... :o)
But that's one of the things we love about you! Right, gang?
<Crickets>
Uh... gang?
Gezzo Wrathforge
Well I don't think Gezzo is insufferable; "pushy" perhaps and "I'm gonna do it my way and NOW so get outta my way"; perhaps just very determined . . .
I like to call it Svarogian (Gnomish?) focus. :P

Well, let's have Messrs. Merriam and Webster adjudicate:
in·suf·fer·able adjective \(ˌ)in-ˈsə-f(ə-)rə-bəl\ : very bad or unpleasant : too unpleasant to deal with or accept : see Gezzo Wrathforge
I rest my case... ;o)
In her defense, please note Celif's thought was on Gezzo's tendency to be "too unpleasant to deal with" -- she didn't actually brand him insufferable. :o)
And keep in mind she was bullied in her youth by people who probably came off much like Gezzo, plus she's a NG-aligned personality rubbing up against Gezzo's LN. "The laws must be followed" guy ain't listenin' to her "only if they're just" addendum. That causes her some mental friction (which, being Good, she's naturally going to keep inside for the most part).
Plus this is, you know, the Shadowlands. We're not supposed to get along, hehe.

Perhaps focus is not the correct word, maybe tenacious would be better.
And people would probably have a hard time with his tenacity, I suppose...among some of his other more enduring qualities. Although I assure you in the Svarog community, those same qualities (gratingly intense, near-insanely persistent, highly suspicious) are highly respected and appreciated. Think of a three foot Hugh Jackman with control issues and some sort of OCD for the mystical. He would be considered quiet the catch.
Gezzo Wrathforge
I like having Gezzo around, he and Thorgrim have a nice combo of impulsive behaviour. And Thorgrim usually seems like the calm one*. :P
Lol, I really wish I could better convey the helium pitch voice that I hear in my head when Gezzo goes off on a tirade. A raging barbarian and foul tempered munchkin roaring into battle is quiet the duo.
Gezzo does appreciate men of action.

That's hard for me to do with my schedule. Usually, I can only post early morning or late night, Pacific Time. Waiting for my group's turn to post was leading to delays in the game.

I understand. If someone moves/acts out of sequence, I usually insert them into the correct sequence.

My wife gave birth to our beautiful baby girl yesterday. I have WiFi at the hospital and can post from my phone when its quiet. But, I may be sporadic with posting for the next few days. If I'm absent for too long please NPC Gezzo to move things along.

Story Master, I'm not sure I understand what you want me to do when you say "application of additional study using the Linguistics skill".
Do you need a Linguistic roll? I believe you do that without my knowledge of the outcome (I have a +6 in Linguistics).
Or do I have to learn another language? I'm assuming I wouldn't be able to do this just off the pendant.
Thorgrim Æsgard
Linguistics can be used to decipher codes and languages one does not understand(including dead/ancient languages). I believe it is similar to a person well versed in German being able to guess bits and pieces of a text written in Danish.
You can decipher writing in an unfamiliar language or a message written in an incomplete or archaic form. The base DC is 20 for the simplest messages, 25 for standard texts, and 30 or higher for intricate, exotic, or very old writing. If the check succeeds, you understand the general content of a piece of writing about one page long (or the equivalent).http://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/linguistics
I'm just trying to be helpful, here's hoping no toes got stepped on.

Thorgim, you have the right of it. There is lettering, but in an unknown and perhaps archaic form. Linguistics may help decipher its meaning. In this case, it would be your inherent skill that would determine how successful you are - hence the roll against a DC.

It's a bit late, but I just stumbled across this while researching how to play WIS 6 and thought it would be a nice addition. :o)

Gezzo and Lryhla dive into the fray and attempt to grab onto Celif. Even though neither can see in the Darkness surrounding her, they both manage to grab her!
Thorgrim joins the fray, and he somehow blindly gropes through the wildly flailing bodies and latches onto the creature attacking Celif! With a shout he musters his rage and manages to yank the creature off of her!
First, thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU, guys! Celif will be staying in the back and looking up from now on.
I know this was a serious situation, but you know that sound when you stick your finger in your mouth and then pop it out across one side? That's what I heard in my head when Thorgrim yanked the thing off.
And those within range should be glad he managed it before her turn next came around. From her point of view she was already being attacked when suddenly she's being almost tackled and something is tugging at her legs and robe. She was about to start swinging her mace. And not at the darkmantle.
Not terribly risky what with the 50% miss chance from being blinded, but someone might have gotten bruised...

Hehe... thank you, Nastrod, for a late morning laugh! :o)
The best to you and yours over the holiday, Story Master, and to everyone else as well!

Yeah, she's very bookish because of the whole "nerdy girl" backstory -- lots of Knowledge skills, Lore Keeper, etc. (Since there was no real danger, that's why I had her be distracted by the books rather than healing after the ooze battle... figured that's how her creator would have played her.)
Overlap on the most often-needed Knowledge skills (like we have) is probably good -- that way if either of us flubs a roll, we have a backup. Or we can be checking two things/areas at once when time is of the essence. If you want to cover some of the obscure stuff too, that'd be great.
No need to spend a skill rank on Geography though, she has that one.
