Regarding the battle with the wererats, the battle as presented in the module is beyond my ability to depict on a map. The room is about 15' x 15' and 30' high, and the opponents are amongst the ropes and support beams about 20' up. Do you guys think we can handle this in a narrative fashion vs tactical map?
Any suggestions?

After you landed and rejoined the others I assumed you followed Lummel's lead:
Lummel leads the way to the upper floor.
Lummel glances to the others, making sure everybody is ready and in position, then, with a kick it slams the door open, ready to fight.
The attack was the surprise round for all those who had readied actions- Lummel kicking the door open, Ziz and Alviss charging in, the wererats shooting, etc. You can be wherever "ready and in position" would mean to you, either beside Lummel as he kicks the door open or somewhere else.

Target: creature touched
Ziz has cast 3 of his 5 daily 2nd level spells... so yes, he can :D
If that's the plan you want to go with, just make the request IC and I'll have Ziz take you up on it. If Ziz is still following the game and wants to pop in with his own contributions that is fine too.

Ziz, glad to see you check in again!
Fact is, I haven't been doing my part to keep the game going either. I know not everyone can post daily, so my original plan was to have 2 or 3 day combat rounds. Raspin hasn't checked in on the Grimlock combat and it took some people more than 2 days to get a post up on the wererat battle.
Is everyone fine with me moving the fights ahead if there are no responses after 3 days? I don't want the party to feel that I'm railroading things, but I've seen quite a few PbPs die as people lost interest over multi-day delays...

So... rather than apologize again I figured I'd just update the gameplay thread :P
I ran into some severe writer's block every time I sat down to write an update, I guess I just had a hard time getting back into the narrative of the two battles. Anyhow, ready to go now and I should be able to keep up regular posts and close out each combat round as soon as everyone posts their actions.

It can be rough at RL tables, but enabling split parties is one of the few places where PbP is better suited to gaming than RL. I'd planned to have a bit more happen in Southspur but I'm leaning toward having you guys meet up as soon as possible so I'll probably just do a quick scene transition after the combat is over, to move you and Raspin to the tower based on news from the guards (if they survive).

Sorry, I thought I'd cleared that up...
PbP combat was taking too long while we were waiting for everyone to post in initiative order. I switched it to having everyone declare their actions for the round, along with their intentions in case the action they intended is rendered irrelevant by something that happened earlier in the initiative order. Once I have everyone's action for the round I'll resolve everything in initiative order and post the results. As soon as I post the results for the round you can post your actions for the next round.
I've seen it work in other PbPs and it should speed things up quite a bit.

Hopefully I can clear things up...
The most recent round in the tower occurred in this post.
Elesandira nimbly wings her way above one of the rats and hacks at it, but it manages to duck under her swing and dance a step or two back along the rafter to give it room to draw its weapon and face her.It is based on
and the attack roll I posted for you in the spoiler since you'd only listed a move action but had made it clear that you intended to attack:I take a few steps into the room and surge into the air, landing among the rafters with the silver sword in hand, ready to strike.
fly 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Elesandira attacks a wererat: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 = miss.
I posted everything that had happened during that round in that post, with the dice rolls at the top in a spoiler and the narrative below. Once this 'combat round report' hits the gameplay thread you can post your next action. After I get inputs from everyone I will resolve the actions in initiative order and post the results for the round, whereupon everyone can post their actions again and we'll wrap up that round- etc.
Right now Alviss and Lummel have listed their intended action for this round, and I'll post the results of the combat round as soon as I have yours. A system like this will prevent us from having to worry about who's turn it is to post their action and should speed up combat rounds so that individual encounters won't each take a month to work through...

My life has become rather busy lately, I'm traveling for the next week for my son's surgery. I'm not sure if this will leave me with more time for posting or less, but it's one of the reasons why I've been a bit slow to post lately...
You all are great players and I feel like I'm doing you a bit of a disservice as a GM with only being able to post in fits and starts. I'd like to know if anyone would rather I try to recruit a new GM and pass my notes over to them, or if you guys are satisfied with the game moving forward in fits and starts as I can make time for updates.

Ugh.
The bugs with the update notifications are my only real problem with the Paizo forums. I'll PM Jon if he doesn't check in soon, in case he's running into the same problem.
I find that your campaign tab can sometimes be more accurate than the main forums interface, but not always...

So, despite my best intentions it's become painfully obvious that I'm not going to be able to continue this story. I see three options:
Mark the campaign as inactive and move on
Pass on my reference material and let one of you guys take over as GM
Recruit a new GM with a recruitment thread
Please let me know what you prefer.
