"What do you think Eli?"

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Male Human Ranger 3

"I'll bet the key to open this lock is among one of these."
Eli stoops over the formerly pinned goblin, searching the two halves for the key and anything else of importance.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Also Searching 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

After Xazt's words, Carys looks even more convinced of his trustworthy character. Seeing that Lucas and Eli have his release from the cave, she retreats to the chair to continue flipping through the pages of her book.

GM can't internet right now. he'll be on later.

Perception 1d20 + 7

Perception:
You notice few things of interest, but you notice a key ring full of keys near the body on the floor. Which goblin was carrying it is unclear. Spilled near the goblin are several vials of shimmering liquid, two of which are spilled on the floor.

Female Human Cutpurse Rogue 3

Ariana walks up the the cage, and examines the lock, attempting to open it on her own.

Disable device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Winning?

Male Human Ranger 3

Quickly righting the vials to prevent any others from spilling, Eli snatches up the ring of keys.
"Aha!" He raises and jingles the keys, looking up.
Seeing Ariana already fiddling with the lock, he subdues his excitement, and extends the ring of keys to her.

Taking the ring of keys, Ariana says, "Thank you, friend. I ought to have this open in no time."

Ariana tries key after key until, eventually, the lock opens with a loud click.

Male Goblin 3 Fighter (Free-hand)

"Thank you, friends," the goblin says to everyone, while nodding to Eli and the woman who just released him. "I know that goblins like their keys and locks, we may want to hang on to that keyring just in case, you know?"

He then eagerly goes to the table to snag all of his items. Xazt seems to have gone into somewhat of a trance as he begins strapping on his leather vest and checking his things (Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 to see if anything may be missing or extra), placing them in their typical place on his body. A pouch or two on his belt, a backpack and bedroll off his back, and a crossbow strapped to the backpack, Xazt finally picks up his scimitar and hooks it to his belt. The glazed look in his eyes during this brief moment of concentration becomes a more fierce look as he suddenly unhooks his scimitar and brandishes it in a fashion that you might see a performer dance with an object.

Perform - Dance: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Quickly, but only somewhat gracefully, sweeping the sword in circular motions around his body, the fierceness in his eyes calms just as he begins to re-sheath the weapon.

"Well, it may not be pretty yet, but just wait until there is an evil gobby in my path." Snickering to himself, Xazt points at the entry to the northern hallway. "I came conscious while entering through that direction. I'm not sure of the way out, but I'm guessing I know these goblins well enough that we could likely backtrack with a little patience."

Knowledge - Local: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Trying to think of the next couple forks, where we might go from this hallway and after.

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

"What sort of goblin are you? I've never seen one dance about with sword like that."

Male Goblin 3 Fighter (Free-hand)

Grinning appreciatively, the goblin looks to the brawler. "It's not often my fighting style is recognized as unique. I like you. It's called the dervish dance. The more dexterous a dervish dancer may be, the more deadly. And just as important as the dancer's skill, is the blade itself. The curved scimitar, somewhat heavier in weight, allows a dancer to keep moving and slashing, building momentum as they go. It's really not for everyone, but we goblins are naturally very deft anyway."

Knowledge - Local: 1d20 + 1

Knowlege Local:
You're pretty sure that one of the hallways out of the room leads to guard quarters, because you gathered that the others tormenting you were guards and there was much talk of shift changes. The other hallway would probably lead out. After that, your knowledge of goblins in the area tells you that this is probably their primary compound for the whole desert, so you may have to make your way up out of the earth. Desert goblins tend to build large complexes underground, so it may be quite a trek to reach the surface.

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Lucas gives Xazt an interested nod.

"Well, Shall we?"

Lucas raises his arms to indicate the passages they have not yet taken.

"Which way is out goblin? You said you knew the way."

Male Goblin 3 Fighter (Free-hand)

Pointing toward the southern entrance, Xazt mentions, "I think that's the guards' quarters..." and then to the northern passage, "and that's the way out."

Suddenly, the goblin's eyes widen at a thought. "All this talk and I realized I never got all of your names. Being caged up does weird things to you."

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

"Lucas Tavington. That lady there is Ariana, the woman with the book is Carys, and you seem to have some understanding of Eli already."

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

At the sound of her name, Carys looks up, clearly oblivious to anything going on outside of her book.

"Have we decided which way to go?"

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

"North will take us out. I suggest we go north."

Isaac's computer is dead so he asked me to role play Eli until he can get it sorted.

Eli nods and hefts his axe. He makes sure to fall in behind Xazt...just in case.

Male Celestial Game Master

Given everything that's going on (computer issues, moving, and well, moving again) we should probably start a hiatus now. We can start back up again as soon as we have solid internets in Japan. Agreeable?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

I'm fine with that! Internet availability will be uncertain for the next month probably. We'll let you know when we get everything figured out better!

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

How close are we to starting up again?

ONLY ONE MORE DAY IF YOU JOIN THE PEN15 CLUB

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

We're waiting until we has real internet in our apartment, which could be tomorrow or it could be still a couple more week. Sorry guys.

Also, has Eli solved his compy issues?

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Yes he has!

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Y'all have internet yet? 8)

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Finally have it today!

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Are we starting this up again?

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Sorry for all the delays. Rick's trying to figure out a way to get the PBP on his work computer. He's really excited about it though! It will probably be a bit slow at fist while we figure out the best posting times. Hang in there a little bit more!

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Woot!

Male Celestial Game Master

Okay, everyone! What do you say we get this going again?

YEAH!

We're finally adjusting to life over here, and I think I have things figured out so that I can post from work.

So sorry it took so long! Sound off if you're ready to play/have thoughts about the game.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

:) HURRAY!!!!

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

DO IT!!!!!!!!

Sczarni

Female Human Druid/1 Bard/1

YAAAAAY! :D

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Eli and Xazt?

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

They're both around. The keep forgetting to post. I know Xazt can still play. Im 80% on Eli.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Cool, cool. So are we ready to go, or should we wait for them?

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Go Go!

Male Human Ranger 3

Good to be back. Thanks DSPuncher, Quillworth. Let's do this.

Male Celestial Game Master

Okay, looks like everyone is here. You may notice that I've reorganized this thread into a campaign using the new Paizo PbP campaign tools. You can access the discussion thread, a listing of the characters, and a few other goodies by using the tabs at the top of the screen.

I'll post the last thing that happened. Now, it's up to all of you to follow Lucas' suggestion or not! Please check the discussion tab to see a few notes about starting up again, and then have at it! Miss you guys!

That was Lucas' last suggestion.

Female Human Cutpurse Rogue 3

"Agreed."

YAY!

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

Toward Lucas and Xazt Lead the way

HURRAY! oh, and finding brackets on my Japanese laptop was interesting!

Male Celestial Game Master

I hear you there! I looked for about 5 minutes before I found them! What is with some keys having 3 different things on them? That just seems a little silly.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

agreed! I think you get different things if you change the keyboard to kana from romaji

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Lucas looks down at Xazt.

"Why don't you lead? You might give the others pause so we can attack first."

Male Goblin 3 Fighter (Free-hand)

Smiling at the brawler, Xazt nods and begins to head down the north hallway. Not exactly rushing, but also not being too careful, Xazt briefly checks over his shoulder to see if the group is in-tow.

Female Human 3rd Level Wizard

should we give marching order? If so, Carys would be toward the back. Most of her attention would be in her book, but she would also keep an eye on the party as well as looking out for goblins.

Male Human Ranger 3

"I'll be watching you, Dancer. Lead the way."
After a glance to Ariana, Lucas, and Carys, Eli cautiously follows the goblin down the hallway, greataxe in hand. Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16 He furrows his brow in concentration as he listens ahead.
Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Male Human Fighter (Brawler) 3

Lucas follows as quietly as possible.

Stealth 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Perception 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6

Male Goblin 3 Fighter (Free-hand)

Seeing the others crouch into a quieter posture, Xazt follows suit, also looking down the hallways.

Stealth 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21

Perception 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
