Fortitude save: 1d20 + 5FAILED: Lucas begins to itch all over his body only milliseconds after coming into contact with the writhing creature. Lucas takes a -2 to DEX and CHA scores for one day's length.
That sucks! Are you going to make all our saves or was this a time crunch thing?

It's up to you guys. I figured that I would, to speed things along, but if y'all want to make your own saves, let me know. Let's have a vote on the discussion page. Just post "yes let us make our own" or "no you do it."
For now, even though it sucks, this one stands :) Sorry!

BOJANGLES' TURN:
The creature now lies in a heap, tangled together with Lucas who is holding on as it flails about, a mass of wiry hair and shining yellow claws. The creature expels another ghastly scream as it's fanged maw, dripping an ooze which gleams a dark yellow in the torchlight, snaps at Lucas' shoulder ferociously...
Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 HITS AC 13 regardless, but should have been -2 for grappling. I will add that next time.
Yellow fangs find their mark in Lucas' exposed shoulder, ripping into the flesh with a snarl.
Dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
DAMMMM...I must be using your dice, Ariana :)
NEXT UP: Carys/Rhan
~ GM Quillworth |
Carys moves toward the grappled creature and Lucas. She glares at the goblin and says, "You shall not harm us!"
Move to I5 and start PROTECTIVE WARD. Any ally within 10ft of me gets a +1 to their AC for 4 rounds
The air around Carys shimmers briefly, as though affected by a heat wave. Lucas, Ariana, and Rhan all feel a spark of energy flow through them, making them hardier against attack.
Rhan moves into position beside the creature and attempts a bite
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
As Rhan snaps at the grappled creature, the creature tries to move its leg away, but Lucas holds it firmly in place. Rhan strikes true for 1 damage!
END ROUND 1. BEGIN ROUND 2. NEXT UP: ARIANA

Did you take into account that creature takes a -2 to attacks and a -4 to Dex while grappled? He still hits AC 13, but I wanna make sure since if hes a Dex creature he may have missed me. Also, it matters for when I butt-plug him with his own fangs here in a second!

Yes, I took it into account. He's now -4 DEX and -2 to attack, stacking. It made no difference on that attack, but it could still affect damage. To be safe, only take 7 damage from that attack for now.
ATTENTION, EVERYONE: Please avoid going back and editing posts during combat, because it can get confusing. I will be trying not to do that, either.

He adds Dex to damage? WHAT IS IT!?!?!?

Seeing Lucas get bit spurs Ariana on to attack the foul beast with her fist!
Do I get a flanking bonus or a minus to hit while he's grappled? Not sure how that works.

Oh I am chill my friend. I merely admit that I do not know what this thing is IRL. Bite is strength, so I take 9 dmg.

HIT:Ariana rushes to Lucas' aid, stabbing at the creature which wrestles with him, and plunges her dagger deep into the creature's torso! As it lets out a deep groan, Ariana pulls out the dagger which is slicked with mixed black blood and bile.
NEXT UP: LUCAS
Also, yes, I realize that Ariana held action and should be after Lucas. Sorry about that.

If the creature lives...
Lucas stands (ending the grapple) and brings his boot down hard on the creatures "face".

"Bite this, whore spawn!"
As Lucas releases the creature, bringing his boot down with tremendous force, he drives his heel straight through the creature's skull, smashing it against the granite floor as black blood splatters against the hallway walls.
The thing lies dead, now fully illuminated in all its gruesome detail by the torch which Carys took from the brazier. It is dog-like in appearance, but much leaner than a dog, and about 5 feet long. It's hair is wiry, with a yellow tint, and what's left of its face is flat and rodent-like.
The fully-illuminated hallway in a door to the left, while two closed stone doors lay along the hallway to the right, followed by a curve left in the hallway. Everything seems to glint in the light, and green moss carpets the granite walls to the left.

KUDOS (take 10 xp)! Actually, I was down in P-town this morning, and I showed this to my sister. We both thought your invocation to Cayden was really cool! It sounded like you were checking the doors to the right, so you'll be checking the dead end door to the left now.

You can take another shot at it. It's not like you have anything better to do. The rules state that you can retry a lock. Alternatively, you could look for something to help (thief tools). If you retry, I will consider Lucas to still be aiding you.
