sorry, would have posted a few rounds at a time but this fight is kinda worrisome so i wanna take things as they go. If only I could still do my old acid cloud trick...

GM Rednal
The good news was that you managed to take down two of the birds. They were fierce and vicious... but they were also birds, and you weren't the kind of righteous individual that hellish powers were most effective against. The remaining ones, however, continued to swarm in an effort to take you down.

ah, that was just for when i have Force Screen in effect. I don't have enough spare characters in that field to "ooc" tag those numbers, but you wanted me to include those numbers when the power was up. Putting them there in parentheses was the best middle ground i could think of.

GM Rednal
Yeah, it's a bit wonky. XD; I think it's slated for (eventual) improvement by the tech team, but they're not gonna get to it for awhile.
Both of your attacks hit empty air as the fast-moving birds duck and wove. From further behind, two of the braziers of flame suddenly began to burn brighter and hotter, even as the existing foes continued their assault on you in an attempt to grind you down.

"Really? Some silly birds? Why don't you show me your true might? Two on one? or are you scared?" Harath asked of the two arbalesters.

GM Rednal
One Arbalester - she's dual-wielding them. XD
Another of the hellish birds vanished as you struck them - and two more began to form in the braziers as they grew hotter and hotter, apparently being called in from elsewhere. The hound exhaled another stream of fire a moment later, even as the bird continued pecking.
"Oh, I don't know... I'm feeling pretty confident." she answered.

Bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
-but you were likewise able to avoid its chomping jaws. The bad news was that you were unable to hit the woman, who responded by stepping backwards, then pulling out a bottle and downing the contents. She promptly vanished from sight, and both the birds and the hound moved towards you.

Harath moves over to a brazier and attempts to tip it to stem the flow of otherworldly birds. unless they are just of a size that would seem obviously impossible to attempt such. But if they're just brass bowls...

alright i try to do that. i am operating under the assumption that the birds will keep coming from the fires and the invisible woman is either preparing a terrible attack on me or has gone to warn others, i dunno. because of the changes of things that have taken place regarding mythic and classes i can't use all the infiltration tricks that i used before against the frog king

GM Rednal
If you'd like, after this adventure you could look over your choices again and see if there's anything you'd like to retrain. One thing I DON'T want is for you to feel like you're stuck with something you won't enjoy playing. XD
As you reached down to move the brazier, there was a hissing movement from just to your left-
Melee vs FF: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
HAH. XD
-and somehow the ambush attack managed to completely fail. Maybe it was the timing when you ducked down to move it, but she was visible now, and let out a snarl as she hopped backwards and one of the birds moved in to take its place. The good news was that you'd managed to extinguish that brazier.
"...You have a truly absurd amount of luck." the woman snarled.

GM Rednal
"Pressure" was one way to put it. After your strike hit her, her body hit the ground, the combination of direct damage and outright bleeding too much for her to handle any longer. Disposing of the hellhound and the remaining birds took a few moments longer (and you ended up having to upend all the braziers), but at least they were out of your misery now. Unfortunately, to get any higher up the mountain, you were going to have to climb 20 feet or so...

I'd swear the dice roller gives highs and lows in blocks. XD; Which is dreadfully inconvenient at lower levels, though I think high-level PCs can move past it somewhat.
Also, new map. o wo/ You're heading into H2 right now.
It's not clear who or what built the passage up the mountain, but there actually IS a passage now, and it's fairly easy to walk. On the side of the rocks, you can see a symbol (possibly a holy symbol) shaped like a dark-winged snake.

Twin staircases are carved into the sides of the mountain’s broad, flat peak. Dug into the red rock in the center of the plateau is a fifteen-foot-wide circle marked with diabolical sigils. Four iron braziers arranged around the circle burn with yellow fire. A rectangular stone altar south of the circle faces the path of switchbacks leading down the mountain. The inhabitants haven't noticed you yet, thanks to your excellent stealth - there's a red-skinned orc woman who looks like the chieftain, as well as what's definitely a devil of some sort a little further back. Four more of the hellish ravens - considerably larger this time - are wheeling around above, and you have time to prepare before you advance...
