GM Rednal
"Been a few years since I tracked anything much beyond my yard." the old man grunted. "And the light ain't too good, neither... but she did a good thing for us a long time ago, and I reckon I want to return the favor. Help me find where they started, would you?"
Roll Survival. While this is technically an Aid Another check, you'll be contributing a significant amount of effort in terms of looking for what the old man tells you to search for and helping find the way. As such, half of your roll will be added to his, rather than a static +2. If you have any abilities you'd like to use to improve your result, they may prove rather handy... ^^

Ack, the forum's been drifting in and out today. DX Took me longer to get to this than I wanted.

Grev muttered to himself as he hobbled forward - and as he did, you could see that his body truly was frail with the weight of years. His own efforts at tracking were neither good nor bad - by himself, he could never have found the trail, and it was only through your efforts that the two of you were able to pick things up and move forward.
That... was a fairly normal feeling for a deity, actually. Finally, almost four hours after you began, the two of you came to a small camp out in the wilderness. In it, you could see Vegazi tied up, the kidnapper was likely in a tent... and the boar was waiting outside, apparently keeping watch. For now, though, you were far enough away that it hadn't noticed you.

"Hmm, some options here. I can try to wake her up, mentally. Travel underground, assault the woman or the boar. What options do you have? Any way to take one of them out while I attack the other?" Harath asks the old man, in low tones.

GM Rednal
The boar is at medium range. And the forum problems likely stem from the sale they put up. 'S probably not a long-term issue, at least. Just very bleh while it's still happening.
The frail old man glanced down at his weapon. "Ain't got none of that fancy stuff." he said as an explanation. "Just my arm, my weapon, and my will."
A rather important reminder about the world - those with great power got most of the attention, but they were an extreme minority, and most people had nothing that even approached what power you had already recovered, much less anything far above that. He could probably hold his own, at least for a little while, but you were the true force here.

1. how big is the tent?
2. what kind of tent is it? pavilion style that is fully enclosed or more like a wigwam or the archetypal "two poles holding up a tarp" style?
3. could i move somewhere so as to see inside the tent?
4. how far is vegazi from the tent entrance, and how far is vegazi from the boar?
5. what does the surrounding area look like? could i use foliage to sneak closer? is there a fire burning? vegazi's immediate area... is it an opening that might suggest using her as bait?

GM Rednal
The tent is a standard two-person tent. It's fully enclosed, with only a small opening - facing Vegazi, who's about five feet from the entrance and ten feet from the boar. There's no fire going, although there is a fire pit. All foliage ends about twenty feet away from the camp. There's no way of telling whether or not it's a trap.

As you got within thirty feet of the area, the boar let out a loud, squealing cry and whirled around to face your direction - it had, apparently, picked up your scent as you approached, and there was a rustling sound from inside the tent as its occupant woke up. The good news? Both of them were busy, so at least you had the chance to do something in response to the alarm being raised.

The boar darted to the side, opening up the side of the tent as the druid woman within chanted - and plants erupted out of the ground at your feet, filling the area with vines and brambles to make all of the terrain as difficult to move over as possible.
Reflex DC 14 Partial: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
The good news was that you didn't have much trouble avoiding the brambles. Unfortunately, the terrain was still difficult to navigate - and disrupting movement seemed to be a favored option of your foe. Behind you, Grev simply let out a yell, hacking at the plants with his blade.

It would need to cast Expeditious Retreat - the plants are tangled in a 40-foot radius.

With a few quick shoves of her weapon, the druid managed to ward off your attacks - unfortunately, it wasn't possible to move far enough to avoid the boar flanking you from the other side, not with just five feet of movement. The animal let out a high-pitched squeal, stabbing forward with its tusks from behind.
Gore: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
The druid, a moment later, darted backwards as she withdrew from combat and opened up the distance between the two of you - clearly trying to stay out of melee range and deny you the opportunity for another series of quick strikes.

Somewhat surprisingly, the boar seemed able to resist being made afraid, though only your second attack had hit. More problematic was that by stepping away from the boar, you were also moving into the area of plants, and being invisible did exactly nothing to stop them from roughening up your movement. The boar started sniffing intently a moment later, turning to face you and growling. The druid, in response, raised one hand - and an Obscuring Mist settled over her and billowed out to cover the boar as well, hiding them in the fog.

Harath

that was a fear effect, so the -4 from my aura should have come into play. i should have mentioned it. also, i didnt know i was that close to the plants and would not have stepped into them to get away from the boar. so i guess i would have stepped diagonally then, if he did an attack he would still have to contend with the miss chance although scent would likely tell him my square.

GM Rednal
It DOES help if you mention modifiers and such, yeah. XD; These are hugely complex characters, and I run a lot of games - it's hard to keep every detail straight. Good rule of thumb: If it's relevant to what you're doing, mention it. This definitely helps you get the full value of your abilities.
That said, you can assume the boar was recoiling anyway - and he hadn't been attacking. Mist is still up.

Harath

So, I am invisible, in some mist (and i hope not in the entanglement). The old man is in the entanglement, hopefully too weak to be considered a valuable target considering i believe i have the druid and boar back off the front line. Where is Vegazi in relation to me, the entanglement, and the mist? Would my awareness of the battlespace be sufficient enough to target Vegazi with Mindlink if i were so inclined? And do i think i could wake her up by shouting into her sleeping brain? I think trying to contact her while she is sleeping is a sufficiently "God of Dreams"-esque thing to do, and I possibly have a few minutes given that both the invisibility and the mist are 1 min/level duration spells. Of course, that depends on what the enemies decide to do outside the cloud, which i will be listening for clues regarding their actions/movement. and do i think i could establish meaningful contact with Vegazi with Mindlink, given her current state of consciousness? to be clear, i havent committed to an action yet, but am weighing my options.

GM Rednal
The mist is far back enough that you're not actually within it. Vegazi is about 15 feet to your right, and at first glance, she does look like a valid target for Mindlink. And yeah, shouting into dreams is definitely within your divine theme - something I strongly encourage playing up, and might in fact rule fairly leniently on for that very reason. XD You could definitely make meaningful contact there.

Harath

indeed, I will do that then.
Harath attempted to forge a mind link with the unconscious Vegazi. It was an almost unfamiliar experience for Harath, for it had been so long since he had done so. He kept his body very still, not only to concentrate on the task at hand but also to give as few clues as possible as to his location. Two eyes on his enemies, and his third eye open to Vegazi's mind, his mental form stepped through the veil of sleep into strange territory. He entered as one would a burning building, cautious but quick, vigilant for the one he sought to save.

GM Rednal
As your mind touched Vegazi's, you saw a brief glimpse of all she was - a child who rejected the darkness of her family and set off for the wild, only to return somewhat to civilization in recent weeks as things got... strange. There was sorrow there, too, for the ones you had been killing.
<Ugh... Harath...?> Her mental voice sounded a bit groggy still, but she was awake and thinking. Your enemies, on the other hand, seemed to be drawing back into the mists.

Harath

<No time. You were captured. Wake up. Need you on your feet in the real world. Fight the grogginess, we have enemies around us, waiting.>

Harath

Harath will move over to Vegazi and cut the ropes, fearing there wasn't much time left.
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 can i tell what effect that chanting is working on?

Harath

Harath looks around to see where the old man is. Also he sizes up Vegazi to see if she needs a potion of healing.

GM Rednal
The old man was still entangled within the vines, but didn't seem to be in immediate danger. At his age, though, breaking free with strength or dexterity just didn't seem likely - chances were he was entirely out of the fight. Vegazi was in somewhat better condition - she wasn't at full strength, but she was far from crippled, and after a few moments she scooped up a jagged rock to use as an improvised weapon.

Harath

Hold out your hand. Harath states to Vegazi.
Assuming she complies, he places a cold iron dagger in her hand as well as a potion of cure light wounds, i will hand her two of them if i can. She will feel the weight of the items, then see them once Harath takes his hand away and they become visible.
The knife will serve you better than that rock until we find your gear. The potion is to heal yourself. When you are ready, we will attack them, unless you think it wiser to cut the old man free and escape. If I had to guess, your gear is in that tent.
basically, I am not sure what to do next, but it would interest Harath to see what Vegazi's priorities are among getting her stuff and fighting or trying to save the old man (though she may know that spell better than I) and leaving.

GM Rednal
<The spell should wear off within a few minutes, and he'll be no worse for wear. We can't protect him at all if we get tangled as well.> Vegazi answered, downing the potion - just before the boar came charging out of the mist and straight at her, trampling the ground beneath its thunderous hooves as it moved.

well, i guess taking one out is better than maybe not taking either out... here goes nothing.
Harath focuses a mote of pure fear into his next attack, though not sure if he focused the fear into the Nightmare Stone, or took it from the stone...

I dunno, I think most people'd say that an attack roll of 24 at Level 4 was pretty good. It's certainly more than enough to hit. XD
Will: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
The boar let out a squeal of fear as your Terror hit it - and your fist promptly sunk deep into its side, clearly taking down more than half of its health in a single shot. Vegazi let out a loud cry a moment later - not of pain or fear, but simply to distract the boar and keep its attention split while you focused on getting rid of it.
Vegazi: Total Defense.
Grunting angrily, the boar lashed out at her...

Harath attacks again, seeking to end the boar's life and thereby the druid's largest advantage.

GM Rednal
Yeah, it is weird when you have a BUNCH of rolls, and they're all below average... XD; Well, that's how randomness is, I guess.
The boar let out a squeal of pain and hit the ground, bleeding out under the force of your last strike. There was a cry of rage from within the mist a moment later... but also the sound of footsteps as she turned and ran, apparently not wanting to continue this battle any further. Vegazi spat to the side, then looked sadly towards the boar.
"Even getting animals wrapped up in this..." she muttered unhappily.

"Let's get your gear, save the old man, and get out of here. Unless you think you can drop her in our current state of affairs. She can outrun me in natural habitats."

GM Rednal
"I doubt she'll be coming back, at least, if she doesn't have a companion." Vegazi observed, moving over to the old man and helping him as the spell finally wound down and returned the world to normal. The druid woman had taken at least some of her things with her, but in her tent, you did find three scrolls of Call Animal, a Potion of Bear's Endurance, and 40 GP in loose coins.
