Her heart thumps firmly, as 2 daggers come flying at her. One hits the wall, the other stings nasty in her shoulder. She sees 2 archers behind a set of barricades and men with maces and shield guarding them. The archers have their strings ready.
"Move and we'll shoot, but please do move."

Those 'haystack thingies' are barricades. Impassable, the squares diagonal adjacent are difficult to attack them through, also cover. You'll be squeezing to get by them, the space between the wall and barricades are narrow.

"There's a magical trap on that brick over there.", Burdock pointing at the stone. Looking at the others, he nods. "Think I have the best chance of resisting it, Torag help me." With that, the dwarf moves up and tries to remove/push the brick after everyone gives him some space.

Clearly fine dwarven craftsmanship. To your keen eye for details, potentially a few hundred years old. Perhaps old enough to be made during the former manor's construction.
