Korriban shrugs at Teodor's sarcasm. "Hey, I'm just suggesting. It's not like I was going to do it anyway. Knowing our luck, it probably wouldn't have worked anyways." He then flips the dagger and sheathes it.

Male

Just going to prod things along slightly, then... ;)

Gadriel stares at the corpse for a few minutes, then looks up. "Abu sees darkness and undeath cast in the body here. Good energy would drive it out, but we have no more sweet spells left..."

Diamon, hearing the information relayed from Gadriel, sheathes his weapon and presses his hands together. Muttering a prayer to his fingertips as his hands are enveloped in a golden glow. He presses his palms to the wriggling body as the energy flows into it, eventually coming to a halt once more. Leaning back up, he turned, the bags under his eyes a little more pronounced and his eyes looking a bit more dim. "There, that outta do it. Collect it and let's keep movin'."

Last Lay on Hands cast.

Gadriel nods her head. "We see no more necromancy lingering." Gadriel will pick up the macabre body part and put the arm through the straps on her pack.

Male

With the now quiescent torso in hand, you seem to have all of Gaekhen's body except for one arm...

What next? One area remains unexplored, otherwise the only passageways left are too narrow for you to move through.

Korriban sighs in relief. "Okay. All we need is the other arm." He then groans. "Which is most likely in that boarded up room. This is not going to be fun. Let's just get the arm, the loot, and the prisoners and get out of here. I really need a rest... and a bath." He turns to Diamon. "You still going to throw that holy water at me?"

"Abu agrees. All need rest, Korriban needs bath. We worry though, what may return or await if we leave and come again. Abu is tired too."

Male

Assuming that that's two for investigating the final room...

Somewhat apprehensively, you all return to the southern room you passed earlier with the boarded-over door. You don't hear anything, but then, the whole place seems eerily quiet now that you know you've been through everything. Tiora and her companions seem to have made it out ok...

The door is kept nailed shut by a number of stout planks. Someone sufficiently strong might be able to bull through it, or you could pry the planks off one by one.

Or something else, of course. How do you want to go about this?

Korriban looks at the boarded up door. He then turns to the others. "Should we start pulling planks or does anyone have any other ideas?"

Male Dwarf Oathbound Paladin 1 | HP 13/13 | AC 16 | CMD 14 | Fort +5 | Reflex +0 | Will +3 |

Standing in front of the boarded-up door, Diamon produces a crowbar for Korriban to use, while he draws his lucern hammer, using the hooked end to help pry and jimmy. "Nope. Savin' my last trick for when it's really needed. Not burnin' it on a boarded door."

Korriban takes the crowbar from Diamon and works on removing the boards.

Male

Korriban makes quick work of the boards, working hastily since the caverns now seem to be empty. After clearing away the boards, the party slowly cracks the door open.

As the leader cracks the door open, a nauseating stench rolls out, washing over the party. Korriban and Teodor both stagger back, practically retching, though the others maintain their composure. As the door swings open, you see some monstrosity stitched together of flesh come barreling out the door. It's still swinging a severed arm from one hand, and it lets out a guttural howl as it leaps forward!

COMBAT: ROUND ONE!
The more martial characters, fortunately, are able to respond quickly to the creature's assault!

Korriban is sent reeling as the stench hits him. "Oh, man! That's just sick! What did they store in here?!" He then sees the giant... thing. "Oh. That explains it." Being one of the most damage, he moves back, trying to get out of the way and away of the smell. "Giant thing! Heads up!"

Moving 15 feet back.

After recovering from the wave of nausea that passed over him, Diamon laid eyes on what was on the other side of the door. A huge living... thing, patched together from parts of the deceased. A sudden surge of anger gripped the Dwarf, his eyes seeming to flash with a pale gold light, as he bellowed a challenge at the monster and stormed in, flinging his polearm away for his deity's weapon; The Falchion. He slashed brutally across the creature's middle, then once more at its limbs, hewing several arms from its shambling corpse. Wrenching the weapon free, he leveled his gaze at the abomination, appearing as though he were ten feet tall and glaring down at the stitched-together creation.

Botting Adoros for now...

Adoros steps forward as Diamon swings his falchion into the abomination's side and curses as he realizes that he won't be able to get into place to use his sword or morningstar. Swinging his musket up to his shoulder (despite the fact that it's broken) he takes careful aim at the foe and a loud report echoes thunderously in the narrow hallway. Sadly, the broken weapon jerks to one side as it fires, and the bullet merely blows a chip out of the ceiling above the towering monstrosity.

The stitched-together corpses let out a bellow and slam two meaty...should-be-hands into Diamon. The dwarf is caught unawares, distracted by the gunshot, and is brutally pummeled by the foe!

14 damage for Diamon, after your DR 1! What are you at now? I don't think 7/31 is your correct hp, but I could be wrong. Gadriel and Teodor are up!

Gadriel scampers up onto the slab, looking over the dwarf's shoulder at the creature. Abu's eyes glow black again while a low growl comes from the tiny animal's mouth.

Move to see, evil eye the creature's attack roll, then worry about how to survive. :D

Evil Eye:
(Su): The witch can cause doubt to creep into the mind of a foe within 30 feet that she can see. The target takes a –2 penalty on one of the following (witch's choice): AC, ability checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or skill checks. This hex lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the witch's Intelligence modifier. A Will save (DC 16) reduces this to just 1 round. This is a mind-affecting effect.

Nope. 7/31 HP is correct. So he's at -7. I knew Diamon was gonna go down in a fight after using his last Lay on Hands. Figured I'd have him go out swinging at the very least.

ROUND TWO (cont'd)

Adoros steps forward as Diamon falls, straddling his downed friend and drawing his massive greatsword as he moves. The blade flashes, and the beast roads as Adoros carves out a chunk of its stomach. It lunges forward and, picking the knight up, punches him with his off-hand and then throws him into a wall. As Adoros staggers, the beast bellows its defiance!

Monster Save:
Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10

As Abu's eyes glow, a black cloud surrounds the monster. Roaring, it suddenly seems off-balance and bumps into the wall.

Misfortune:
(Su): The witch can cause a creature within 30 feet to suffer grave misfortune for 1 round. Anytime the creature makes an ability check, attack roll, saving throw, or skill check, it must roll twice and take the worse result. A Will save (DC 16) negates this hex. Whether or not the save is successful, a creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 1 day.

Cackle:
(Su): A witch can cackle madly as a move action. Any creature that is within 30 feet that is under the effects of an agony hex, charm hex, evil eye hex, fortune hex, or misfortune hex caused by the witch has the duration of that hex extended by 1 round.

Male

Not sure yet exactly what Teo has left, but I only counted 4 or 5 channels in this game day, so...

As the creature staggers, Teodor manages to completely void his gut and then straightens up, wiping his lips. Seeing Diamon lying, barely breathing, he inhales sharply. "Oh no. My my, no. No indeed." Botting Gadriel...

ROUND SIX

As Adoros continues to pull back, Gadriel hops down from the table to avoid being in range of the foe's meaty fists. Before she does so, she places her hand on Adoros's shoulder and leans in, getting right next to the knight's ear.

"Killitkillitkillitkillitkillit..."

The cavalier feels a new strength surging through him as he turns to face the construct again. Opposite him, Diamon takes a step back and brings his hammer down on the foe, but it just glances off the beast's hide.

Gadriel casts guidance on Adoros. He gets a +1 bonus to one roll before the end of his turn.

Adoros and Korriban are up! Here's the tactical situation.
