Accepted players! Please dot in here and begin your pre-dungeon diving adventure!
You may take this opportunity to get to know one another, figure out party semantics and tactics. I will consider this the 'prep' time before the group heads into the citadel.
Welcome to the The Depths of Dillium Das!
Roet Heineous |
Dotting here! Happy to be around :)
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Howdy, ya'll.
Oliver tries to get along with everyone... once, even twice. He's not much on third chances though.
Adornis Vrastoyllar |
This game will be great!
Just for you to know, despite Adornis beeing a gnome, he acts like a dwarf, a meticulous and pride one!
I have a lot of gold to spend... how much do you have to spare? We will need a lot of items if we want to survive this!
Also DM, could you give us a hind if we will be able to return to the civilization or our gear will have to last the hole game (or most part of it)... this will make our chances to survive more realistic!
Vinsomner |
Once you head down into the depths, you are pretty much removing yourself from society. Think of it as no return unless theirs a cure. Though with it being a mega dungeon, you will have opportunities, though few and rare, to trade. Mega-dungeons have their entire own ecosystem within them, like a little mini world :)
So you should be preparing your characters for a long haul, and treat it as if you're not going to be able to come back for civilization for an extended period of time. This will let the crafting system really shine.
Also any player can craft mundane/common items with a standard craft check.

If we could get the gameplay thread created and dotted, it would be easier to keep track of discussion thread.
PS: Oliver found the first loot box. :)
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Oliver made sure to get a ring, and has a week's worth of food (from his kit). I can buy more, left some gold free for last minute purchases. Tried to make Oliver as self sufficient as possible (self healing, self re-arming). Made his guns living steel too, so if we find something with dirt, they can self-heal as well.
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Oliver can adjust attitudes by up to 3 levels, not the normal 2, on a diplomacy check. That means he can make hostile people friendly.
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Of course. With my luck, there will be zero opportunity for diplomacy. However, if there is, he'll be good at it. :) On a take 10, he can get a hostile person to consider his words. :) On an 18 he can make them friendly. :)
Rhoman Ke |
For a quick summation of Rhoman Ke (besides being cynical and dry-humored) he may also be a bit morbid. Like a barbarian that won't can't rage. He does believe that the only way he can regain his honor is to either complete this task or die in battle (not suicidal, no honor in that). It'll place an interesting internal conflict, as he'll constantly be wanting to take on monsters and such but will need to reconcile that with the need to accomplish the task given him by his people.
Think someone along the lines of Zuko, actually. Except without the family issues. :)
Rhoman Ke |
I'll have to start doing acrobatic/martial arts moves when performing spells.
Edit: I should also add that I brought a fine steed of the riders of Huth'han (see what i did there) for our esteemed adventurers. Not having much capital and a very different economy than all the other lands, the proud people of Huth'han have given some of their best horses as companions to the brave adventurers. Their usefulness will remain to be seen, but if anyone has read the "Ranger's Apprentice" series...well, that's what type of horses these are modeled after.
After all, no true warrior of Huth'han would go to battle without his horse.

Basically:
Perception +7 for traps, +4 to concealed objects and hear conversations
10 ft from trap, immediate Perception
Augar Stonefist |
This should be a fun group.
I am gunning for Augar to be a outcast dwarven mystic who the other dwarves find a bit odd. I mean he is a bookbinder and scribe!
Also in a pinch horses can be eaten!

Also in a pinch horses can be eaten!
Haha, that is true!
A brief explanation on the horses: while thinking about Rhoman being, more or less, a bit of a social pariah among his own people, it occurred to me he may have been difficult to find and may have had to travel very far very fast to be on time for the expedition. Now, I'm no historian, but I had read one time how nomads like Native Americans and Mongolians (even the good ol' American cowboy) would travel with multiple horses per person, so as to be able to travel long distances without killing their means of transportation. From there, I figured we might as well not let them go to waste, and based on the description of our destination, these horses might easily fit in.
Worst case scenario, a) food, b) Han solo's taun taun or c) trap finders. Personally, I have this weird idea that we'll need some weight for a counter-balance, on a large block and tackle.

Guys, Adornis is used to take control of situations (his whole background is around being on control), so I am roleplaying him this way.
This can cause him to talk a lot and try to be the “boss”, but if you feel that it is getting out of control, or if I am pushing too hard, please let me know, since I want all of us to have fun!
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Either or is fine. I usually do digital maps with grids over them, personally, when running, but as long as the map has details on it, I don't mind if it's fully colored in or not.

Oliver has no issue with anyone being the boss, until they do something stupid. Then he'll rap them over the head with a pistol butt. :)
Oliver Ebonlocke |
Looks good.
Adornis Vrastoyllar |
@DM: Just noticed that Adornis forgot to buy his mundane adventure/dungeoneering itens... I left Money to buy this stuff but since had no time at that moment... do you mind for me to buy it now and pretend that Adornis carried it in his backpack since the beggining?

Hey everyone! Just wanted to ask a big favor from you all!
Could you add your HP amount, Defenses and saves to show up on your posts in your alias?
I just need your HP Current/Max, your AC, Touch, Flat, CMD, CMD flat, Fort, Reflex, Will, and Perception bonus.
It'll make it super easier for me to reference the stats I need without having to look at your profiles every time. Thanks!
To those who already have it up there, thanks :)

Oliver, being a Paladin, would avoid political stuff.
If others wish to, that's perfectly fine.
Adornis Vrastoyllar |
Adornis doesn't give a f*** about politics also... but could be a mediator. Also his country is kind of neutral right?
Roet Heineous |
Roet is a pacifist monk. He won't enter in any arguments at all, especially about country politics.
