The Depths of Dillium Das (Inactive)

Game Master Vinsomner

An ancient citadel sits on a plain, surrounded by never ending fields of decrepit farmlands. The once pearly white walls still stood, with only minor depredation to the structures. The gates to the citadel remained rotten and open, inviting anyone into its hold to tempt their fate. But place remains empty and abandoned as no one has ever returned from its far reaching depths...

In the campaign info, each country's allies (or friendlies, at least) were identified, as well as those that they did not have good relationships with. To me, that said politics were important, and while we might all be working together, we wouldn't necessarily enjoy it.

Campaign info wrote:
The nations are beginning to grow wary of eachother, armies are mustering and cities are being fortified. Fear of global war would break out amongst the nations as food becomes scarcer and the plague worsens.

For Rhoman, as a representative of a country that has a negative relationship with 3 other countries, (ironically here, those of Roet, Adornis, and Oliver) this means only a limited amount of trust for those 3 and the occasional gesture of goodwill, especially since we'd never met before and our countries didn't like each other. Kind of like the U.S and the Soviets in WWII.

Well, that makes sense. Roet, Adornis, and Oliver's countries have better relations with everyone, and picked Apolitical representatives for such a vital mission on purpose, putting the mission above their squabbles.

Rhoman's country can't get along with anyone, and they sent along a political toady to toe the party line and wrest the solution for their use alone... :)

Game Master

Just an aside, with everyones reaction to the small danger, there was some lethal damage dealt to a few and the non-reaction to it does leave something to be desired, such as Oliver getting hit with that electric touch attack, despite the situation he would be feeling a bit singed with 23 points of damage missing.

Roet would also be a bit hurting from Augars blades (he attacked with lethal weapons as well.

I plan on bringing the political situation up in the game later, though with that I wont say much more so I wont risk spoiling anything :)

Though a bit of asymmetry in the political distrust, very understandably from Huth'han, would create a nice dynamic. So I would like to see some politics enter from now and then.

I mean, their is alot of undiscovered treasures and things below. Who knows what might prove to be too alluring for one to try and take it for their nations sake!

... Again totally optional here ;)

Ah, I thought I'd only gotten hit with subdual damage. I was intentionally not reading what happened to my body, last I saw was being punched for non-lethal.

Ciaran doesn't care much about politics of the country that he's from. his loyal to the people he considers friends, but isn't loyal to the country he represents. he is loyal to his homeland, but as illustrated in his back ground he isn't from Iullia. he has respect for scholarly people, since he himself is not and wishes he could be, and he also like to listen to priests and what the after life is like. he also think that people that are serious and stoic all the time are a little silly though, he figure that if your going to go through life you should do it while you're laughing.

Actually, it was Roet for 27 damage.

Ah, well damn, everyone was jumping on Roet! Hah!

And it's apparent I miss read something, my fault. I need to handle situations like this a bit better when you get possessed. Nex- I mean, if it happens again I'll do a better job at it :)

I did one "protective wall of stone" (Stone Shield) as a immediate when someone moved to attack me (and as an AoO, I attacked the person as well). If someone attacked me after my attack (when I'd have another immediate available for the round after), I would have done another for another ki point and let the person punch the stone.

Just a final comment on politics...none of our characters would do well as political emissaries. playing to politics doesn't mean wheeling and dealing, at least in this sense, it just means recognizing the relationships these countries have. A more real world example we're probably familiar with is neighbors. Some get along, some don't, but in the end, you'll all go to the HOA meeting together to make sure neighbor Joe doesn't get is property line approved to move 3 feet onto your lawn.

I'm basing Oliver's full bore apolitical bent because he's a Paladin of Sarenrae (I may have said Iomedae earlier, that was a typo).

The paladins of the Dawnflower are fierce warriors, like their goddess. They provide hope to the weak and support to the righteous. Their tenets include:

• I will protect my allies with my life. They are my light and my strength, as I am their light and their strength. We rise together.

• I will seek out and destroy the spawn of the Rough Beast. If I cannot defeat them, I will give my life trying. If my life would be wasted in the attempt, I will find allies. If any fall because of my inaction, their deaths lie upon my soul, and I will atone for each.

• I am fair to others. I expect nothing for myself but that which I need to survive.

• The best battle is a battle I win. If I die, I can no longer fight. I will fight fairly when the fight is fair, and I will strike quickly and without mercy when it is not.

• I will redeem the ignorant with my words and my actions. If they will not turn toward the light, I will redeem them by the gun.

• I will not abide evil, and will combat it with lead when words are not enough. I do not flinch from my faith, and do not fear embarrassment. My soul cannot be bought for all the stars in the sky.

• I will show the less fortunate the light of the Dawnflower. I will live my life as her mortal weapon, shining with the light of truth.

• Each day is another step toward perfection. I will not turn back into the dark.

Saranrae is a goddess to all, not just one nation. Oliver is aware of the politics, but he refuses to lower himself to it. He leads by example, as is his requirement by his goddess. A petty political squabble is beneath his goddesses notice. Kingdoms and Countries rise and fall, but Righteousness is eternal.

Augar was chosen because of his weird powers and the fact he was not well liked because of them. he also could careless about the whole kingdom and more about getting a crack at the history within

Augar do you like how I described that history sense thing you have? If you did I will try to make them all in that kind of template so to speak.

If not and you think you have a preferred way for it to be described to you, let me know!

Hey guys! I'm sorry, but I'm stepping out of the game. With a baby on the way here, my already limited time will now be terrible, so I'm reducing my online activities overall. I wish you all fun! Take care, and thanks GM again for the opportunity :)

Game Master

Sad to see you go! But baby life takes precedence! Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful time!

Game Master

Okay to explain the Monks disappearance, we will say he got separated somehow when you guys started inspecting the rooms. It leaves it open for if he ever comes back without anything definite happening to him.

Probably got eaten by the site during the yoyo time it's been doing the last few weeks.

Game Master

@Adornis: That's what I normally do. I just saw everyone rolling init and I'm like "Why the hell not." Hah.

But rule of thumb here is I typically either introduce and attack with the creatures (Give them first inititiative) Or Introduce the enemy and allow you to make your attack posts.

I probably should've clarified the combat rules before. But unless I specifically say, you may attack at any given time. So it breaks down like this...

Monsters Introduce, since no surprise they don't make their round attacks
Players A, B, C, D enter combat, the players can post in any order they wish. First come first serve basis.
Either once all players have posted, or it is end of day, enemy will make their turns. If any players did not make their posts in by the end of day they are put on delay and miss their action.

I would ask that, either can try to aim for two monster turns a day, or one monster turn a day. It is up to all of you to decide what speed you want to take this at.

Game Master

Important Update here:

Two of our players have to take an intermittent due to current life events. This is partly the cause of the lack of a post yesterday as I was trying to decide what to do in the situation.

One of the choices was to put the campaign on temporary pause until they can re-continue with the campaign.

I don't really want to replace them as they are still interested in the campaign. I also don't want to run this with DMCPing them the entire time. The campaign really needs a full group to do, and the changes I would have to make would be very drastic.

So for now the campaign will be put on hold until all players present can continue.

Thank you for your understanding!

No problem! Stuff happens... just to know, any idea when we'll continue?

Game Master

I'm not entirely sure. It may be around a month or so. That's when there will be a break in the school schedule I believe.

Thats cool just keep us informed

Game Master

Okay there was a long absence in my presence in this campaign and part of the reason has been life troubles. For now. Due to the prior commitments and other thing's I'm having to juggle in the OOC world of things. I'm going to temporarily set this campaign to inactive.

I will revive it when things settle down. But for now it's one of the games I have to set to the side for a moment while I regather myself and my time.

I do apologize for the inconvenience.
