Please post the following information
Character Name:
Player Name:
PFS Number:
Faction:
Day Job Roll:
A brief description on what you want your character to do if he must be botted.
any special rules or abilities your character uses
Koani |
Character Name:Koani
Player Name:Redelia
PFS Number:184425-06
Faction:Grand Lodge
Day Job Roll:none
Koani adores Blarg, and would risk her safety without a second thought for him. If you need to bot her, she would use her cure spell on anyone in severe danger, otherwise use her bow. She also would direct Blarg to use melee attacks on any enemy.
Blarg likewise adores Koani, and would protect her from any danger he can see to her. Other than that, he would attack any threats.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Character Name: Farket, or you can call him 'Oathbreaker' (it's branded into his forehead) if you want to see him get real cross real fast
Player Name: AbyssDancer
PFS Number: #218409-4
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job Roll: None
Special rules / abilities: Reach with Glaive, Rage 11/day
Bot behaviour: In combat, strike! Move to maximise chance of aoo with reach. Target enemy magic users. Out of combat guard others, seek to 'aid' others' skill checks DC10.
Shabah Al'Quna |
Character Name: Shabah Al'Quna
Player Name: Cwethan
PFS Number: 182453-11
Faction: The Exchange
Day Job Roll: None
Shabah is a fairly straightforward melee beater at this level, their main weirdness is that they'll Alter Self into (probably) a Troglodyte at some point, which will be represented by an appropriate alias with their changed stats.
Kimberly S Snow |
Character Name: Kimberly Snow
Player Name: Edward
PFS Number: 9406-11
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day Job Roll: None
Kimberly seldom enters combat directly she uses primarily defensive magic and will usually favor healing over dealing direct damage. She abhors undead and will always concentrate her power on eliminating them before any other enemy.
any special rules or abilities your character uses: Channel Positive 6/day.
If anyone can assist me...how does variant channeling work within society? do you always have to use the variant or can i not provide the variant effect if I don't need to?
Kahwen |
Character Name: Kahwen
Player Name: EbonFist
PFS Number: 143948-9
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job Roll:: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Kahwen will always try to maneuver into position to flank foes, even going so far as to use acrobatics checks to move in and out of threatened areas. If he loses more than half his hit points, he will withdraw to be healed then move back in.
Kahwen has the Glide Alternate Tengu racial trait.
Shabah Al'Quna |
You always have to use the Variant - though I think there's a feat to let you not use it when you want...
**Edit** This feat
Koani |
I have not played with an animal companion before in PFS. A assume that when there is no mechanical benefit I can make Blarg behave in a way that establishes his character, but the rules about handle animal checks need to be strictly followed when there is a mechanical benefit?? Koani's skill for handle animal is +3, which gives her a +7 to handle Blarg. Does this mean I need to roll for every attack I want Blarg to do? He does have 'attack' as one of hit tricks.
Kimberly S Snow |
I play a druid in another PFS game, it is a DC 10 to command your animal companion to perform any trick that it knows. if it knows "Attack any Target" then you can command it to attack (DC 10) and it will attack until commanded to do otherwise.
but it will only attack the target designated so you only have to make the check again if you want it to change targets.
If the companion does not know the trick the it is a DC 25 to get it to perform the task.
If Blarg has open trick slots then you can attempt to teach him a new trick at the end of each scenario (you get 1 roll for each rank in handle animal and you can take 10 but not take 20)
BTW I really don't like my avatar pic but I couldn't find any other good ones.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Eeew. Is it contagious via pbp?

Hey everyone - I have an open question for you. I've not had much experience of PbP before - I only found this site a month back. I've started four games as a player in that time, but I've had some mixed experiences with people dropping out in the opening days.
What the success rate of PbP games? Is this really a medium for people who already know each other, but are now living at a distance, rather than for strangers to game together? I am curious as to how many players/ DMs/ games go to completion. What is your experience? Are there other PbP Pathfinder sites people use?
I'd welcome your thoughts...???
Kahwen |
I've done PbP ALOT and, honestly, the success rate is not great. Granted, that was much more ambitious with people trying to run full campaigns that went on for hundreds of posts and involved several adventures.
Because this is a much shorter scenario and is even shorter since it is broken up into 6 separate chunks, I am optimistic. Each of the portions of the full scenario takes only an hour or less in person and people can drop in an out so, at least in theory, if someone needs to drop they can after any individual piece then drop back in later and we can, potentially, refresh our ranks between one chunk and another with recruiting.
The only thing I think we really need to worry about is the GM going AWOL and even then I think that there is a method for requesting a new GM pick up the adventure.
The botting rules should help, too. We won't be stuck waiting for someone so long that everyone else will lose interest.
I would like to hear Daveak's opinions, though and when he will use the botting rules.
Do we have a day to post? 2? A week?
DM Snider |
For me, I have been doing PbP for 4 years. I have 4 People that i know well and play on here with all the time. that said I have played at most of 10 to 15 games at once. I had 1 of them each in 1 game. I play games or gm games all the time without meeting anyone. I only know 1 person out of the 17 people we have for these three tables of confirmation.
your success rate comes down to involvement of the players with the game and the gms involvement with the players.
I have never had a game fizzle and die but had a few that were close.
I am at work and will post more tonight
Koani |
I've found that PFS games seem to reach completion, because they are so short and also because it seems players post more frequently. I've had multiple games die on me, several because the GM got banned from Paizo forums. At other times, the GM has disappeared. None of these were PFS, though. They were either adventure paths or else homebrew settings.
DM Snider |
that is fine f2f is alway fun.
you asked how i am with botting.
i only bot the pre given turns when the player has told me they will be out or when they havent posted for day or two.
when it comes to roll, I roll what will keep the game moving but at the same time not take away important rolls. Like opposed perception to enemy stealth and initive checks. I will never roll do or die rolls or important saves, unless player has not posted in few days.
I try to post at least once a day. My posts sometimes wont get out until later like tonight but still once a day. I am less frequent on the weekends as that is when more f2f and real life happens.
if i will be out for anytime or may not be able to post i try to let you know.
if you have any other questions please ask.
Remy can you post basic character info like the others. main thing i need is hp,ac,ff,t, all saves, init, and perc. if you add more that is fine also
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Thanks Kahwen! That other profile could never roll damage on the same scale as Farket in a fury!

It occurs to me that we might have done all this planning and assumed movement and DM Snider's just going to have to stop us in the middle of it because of an ambush or a secondary trap...
Farket / Oathbreaker |
and to you all! I guess it is inevitable that our postings slow down over the break. Let's hope things pick up again after.
Karwen can you please add your skills to your profile? It would be good to understand where your strengths lie.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Sorry, I was being deliberately mischievous.
But seriously DM, what's in the parcel?

DM: If you have other (more important) matters to attend to, would you prefer us to seek a replacement ? I would totally understand.

Sorry I have been silent.
I have been super swamped with work for the past month.
I am finally getting back to a normal routine again and finally working less than 72 hours a week.
I should be catching up this weekend
