It was a Web that wrapped around you, I don't know what happens to webbing after you break out of them. I'd assume they just dissappear unless it's mentioned otherwise. For this instance, you break out and don't have to worry about webs agian unless she hits you agian.

I had a reflex save to see if it affected me. And since I was entangled, to move through it (20 ft radius) a player must make a combat maneuver check or Escape Artist check as part of my move. And if failed then grappled again.

5 feet away enemies have partial coverage. 20 feet or more and they have total coverage.

Actually that's a different kind of web. The web that got you was a monster extraordinary ability web which works slightly differently (no grappling rules or reflex save).

So trapfinding is Perception, in my case d20+6, plus half rogue level, so I need to be L2 to get the +1 in trapfinding?

If not then I got 15 total on the roll.

Makes sense to me since we get it at L1...but that means L4 before I get +2.

Variel, the check is for disabled device. thats what's used to unlock doors and such. i'll let you roll again to see if you beat the dc. If the DC isn't beaten, ya'll can either skip this floor(might find a key later) and head on up the stairs or tear it down with a dc of 23.

I think he's just checking for traps before he tries to pick the lock, which is generally a good idea. But in PBP I would suggest rolling both the check for traps and a conditional if there are none disable device check to keep things moving.

Thanks for the info. In the future I will with check for traps and then roll for disable device...

Though I'm pretty sure the disable device is supposed to be a secret roll by the GM...though I don't know of a GM that actually does...seems like people always do their own.

Variel if you get a low roll could you please roll again? I'd advocate rolling until you are reasonably sure you have it, I am sure GM June will understand that if something significant happens on or after a check you stop there. The advantage is it saves the rest of the party waiting around while you and the GM post back and forth, check, fail, check, etc., which creates a real bottleneck for the game. If we go about it like this it could take several days to resolve picking a lock.

Yeah, taking 20 plus my +9 with my tools would have been enough to open the lock.

And yeah, as a secret roll, the DM can fudge and say we make it if the roll wasn't enough.

@GM June, A rapier is d6 (It's d4 for small). 2d6 was me adding in sneak attack as the skeleton was flanked.

How do you want my character sheet?

Take a look at one of the others in this group, that's how. is it small instead of regular size?

I understand now the reasoning for 2d6 with sneak, just not sure why your damage with is a d6/small in the first place.

Rapiers do d6 damage at medium, a small rapier is 1d4. Basically it has a higher crit range, but a lower damage die that a longsword.

Don't be so hard on yourself GM June, PBP DMing has its own quirks and challenges separate from a table game. You are doing well. :)

I think to use scrolls they have to be on your spell list? Or I'm confusing it with staffs/wands?
