Vassago Ilsidore |
"And I am going to drown a demon? How embarrassing will that be, Arastrax, so boastful as to give your true name?", Vassago summoning the water in a large spear and hurling it at the foe's head, swaying more from side to side.
Defensive Empowered Water Blast: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 - 4 = 10

AC is 26 until my next turn
GM Chyro |
Vassago hastily lobs another blast of water, but it misses Arastrax by a long shot.

Arastrax (-27)
"Kekekeke..."
The table seems to be his favored weapon, as he uses it a 3rd time.
Table tossing: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 Dmg: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 3, 3) = 12
Though, for all his ego, he fails just as hard.

Spenser Quixote |
Can I take an action now, or have I still spent the time coming all the way back?
GM Chyro |
Sorry there, Spenser. ^^
For every round you're shaken at most, you can act as you wish.
Spenser Quixote |
I know, but I shouldn't even be shaken anymore now; the question is, have I made already it back to the chapel so I can get back in the fight?
GM Chyro |
You've been fleeing (2x move) for 5 rounds. Let's say you enter through either east or south in current round. Your choice.
Spenser Quixote |
I choose east; how long has it been since I anointed my lance?
Also; Vassago, I wouldn't say I need Kinetic Healing yet, but I might in a round or two....
GM Chyro |
You've applied bless weapon oil in round 5. It's expired.
Vassago gathers power and hurls more blast at Ara-Ego-strax, defensively again.
Blast: 1d20 + 11 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 11 + 1 - 4 = 21 Dmg: 4d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 5) + 12 = 28
+50%, 1/2, DR.
Vassago hits Arastrax for 11 dmg.
------------------------
Arastrax (-38)
"Alright slick, you've asked for it."
The table keeps being a favored weapon.
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 4d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 6, 1) = 16
Vassago evades it once again, much to the demon's dismay.

Spenser attempts to sneak back into the room...
Stealth: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Assuming I stick out like a sore mithril thumb:
"...Woulds't thou believe I am none other than the Marquis de Exupery's selfsame maleficent fetch-twinne? A-ha! A-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
His mustache does make for an impressive thing to twirl.
GM Chyro |
Sense motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Arastrax laughs.
"Sure! And i'm the queen of Taldor!
Bwahahaha."

+%, 1/2, DR. 7 dmg to Arastrax.
Arastrax takes another 7 dmg, as Vassago's blast flies through is shadowy form.
"Acknowledging your superior? You finally catching on to the foodchain, slick?"
Outside, there is some sounds of combat encouragement, as voices shout about a breach within demon ranks.
Arastrax snickers.
"Oh? It seems i will have to leave this dance. Kekekekekeke.....
The deal's off it seems."
He makes a small gesture with his shadowy claws, and vanishes in a swirly vortex of shadows.
Combat over.
Vassago Ilsidore |
After Arastrax disappears, Vassago cautious looks for Spenser and Feli, hoping they are still safe before heading to Phosdlon's body. "I'm sorry we could not save you amigo. We shall return you to the Grand Lodge with the honors you deserve."
GM Chyro |
When you get outside, you see a most spectacular sight..
Nigel has summoned celestial eagles to attack a couple of dretches, the nobles are working in flank position with their aides taking out some demons here and there, with swords and rapier.
Jeong-Rang wood plunges a dual set of daggers into the kidney-zone of a brutish demon, which seemingly deals the fatal blow.
Commander Shafar directs any guardsman in sight against a winged demon, bringing it down with military precision.
....a demon head flies from another side, rolling past Spenser's feet.
Looking around, to no surprise, the hellknights kill a couple of babaus with brutal and grizzly accurate strikes. Even though some of them look bloodied, their resolves is steel.
Damian thrusts his sword through the open maw of a demon, into the brain, outright killing it.
The matriarch finishes summoning, and a great boar charges into a babau, goring it savagely to death.
The scene was seemingly a mop up of whatever demons were left by this time, and it dies down.
Once the fighting has settled, Hamaria Blakros calls out to all present.
"Let us gather inside, please."
GM Chyro |
Once everyone is gathered in the pavillion tent again, matriarch Blakros takes the stage.
"Friends, family & guests. I thank you all for coming at the wedding.
However, with this dreadful turn of events, any further reception is called off. The safety of everyone here takes priority."
There are a few nods of agreement here and there.
"I'll see to the arrangements of the ships' repairs, if any needed, and we can leave the island."
Spenser Quixote |
Trying to score a Faction Objective (or two!):
Sir Spenser approaches Dame Blakros as she steps off the stage.
"Prithee, Your Grace, alself me to introduce mylow: Sir Spenser Pellinore Quixote the Last, Marquis de Exupery of Taldor. If it please, I woulds't fein speak with thee in exclusive council, for I vol to extend thee a proposition.
If she and I can agree to find someplace for a private word:
"I speak unto thee on behalf of a fine peerage yklept 'The Sovereign Court,' who share the vision of Saving the Stories et Glories of Yore ere they be sentenced by Fear, Folly, and Miserdom to Damnatio Memoriae. Such as Your Grace could scarcely be a more perfect peer to this thricedly-noble enterprise. What sayst thou?"
Diplomacy check, Height of Fashion bonus, DC 24: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
If she obliged the request to speak in private and there's somewhere to do so, I simultaneously achieve another Sovereign Court objective, having accomplished one without revealing my affiliation to anyone not of or about to join the Sovereign Court."
GM Chyro |
While the guests appear to be nobles, friends and hellknights, Feli recalls Jeong-Rang mentioning he does trading between the Blakroses and the Eastern nations.
Let's hear that convincing talk, and the roll to go with it. :)
As matriarch Blakros steps from the stage fairly quickly, it is not out of range of guests to hear Spenser ask for a private moment.
Yet, given the recent events, his words are of no interest to them.
If you're fine with speaking at the other side of the tent...then the following.
She motions for the two of you to step just outside the eastern exit.
She looks at you with a politely open but neutral look.
Assuming the others are, like at the start, at the west entrance, awaiting Spenser's return, that would be a DC 22 perception to hear you speak of his affiliation.
15 for hushed conversation, +5 for distance and +2 circumstance from the crowd moving about.
Perception Feli: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 No clue.
Perception Turzyk: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 He hears it.
Perception Vassago: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17 No clue.
Turzyk hears your mention being of the Sovereign Court, but cares not. That's Spenser's choice.
The matriarch carefully reads your cryptic speech, deducing you want her to join the interest of the Sovereign Court.
She shows the faintest hint of a smile, accompanied with a dismissive gesture of her hand.
"Sir Quixote. It is always flattering to hear people appreciating my expertise and organizational skills, but..." , and there is a firm confident shine in her eyes.
"I do what i deem fit for my family. I am my own woman, and will noy be a pawn to another's design. The family is independent and strong, and it shall remain such, as long as i live. I will respectfully have to decline your invitation."
..."Let us depart here, there is still arrangements to be made for departure."
--------------------------
Later that afternoon....
The ships were not beyond repairs, and the staff have made the ships seaworthy again. The mood along the way is stale and absent of cheer.
Back in Absalom, the team brings Phosdlon to his respective deity's temple, where the priests revive him, and restore his weakened state thereafter, before everyone heads back to the lodge for a debriefing with the VC.
"Ah, you're back. I had received a letter from a colleague, about the wedding, but that can wait until after your story."
.... cue your own comments.
Spenser Quixote |
Feli2 |
Returning to Jeong Rang Felicitas bows deeply and speaks up.
"I could not fail to overhear that you are in trade negoations with the Blakros family. May I ask if you would be willing to broaden your portfolio. I mean as the trade routes and carriers are already established, it would be a simple thing to add a few more crates. I represent a faction who is financially very potent, with ties all over Golarion and beyond. And we beliebe the more we trade the better for all.
We would not touch your existing agreements, but we have dozens of other opportunities."
Diplo with Heroism: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (20) + 16 = 36
GM Chyro |
Jeong-Rang is happy that his conversational companion returns.
"My lady, i trade -on behalf- of the Blakroses. Nonetheless, you are correct, my cargo hold is not always fully stocked, so tell me about the details over a soft drink."
Nets it alright.
