The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Arr flights flights and more flights hoping to not have snag airport wife to post at week end,
Carl will post in game soon Mel. Don't think any other PC needs to be around.

Couple quick notes. One, I know it's a moot point now, but if it comes up again I have to agree that someplace that is currently being displayed on a screen counts as currently viewed.

I think Dami got hung up on the word "physically" in there, which isn't a helpful word at all, since his physical sight (eyes) is pretty much everything he "sees".

Which means it's a debate over semantics (what is and isn't physical sight) and no one wins in those debates. :)

Alright, now that I've got the kidlet to school and am not posting from my phone while getting dressed, I can elaborate on what I was saying.

My interpretation of the scrying thing is that it's meant for when you're trying to scry and teleport both by the same person. You can only pay attention to one at a time so there's a penalty. But if one person scries for the other and lets them see it that makes things easier. It rewards cooperation. Obviously there are other interpretations out there, but that was the justification for my opinion. :)

As far as initiative goes, it's a format thing. Initiative is a game killer in PBP. I've seen many games stall and die over it. I feel kind of bad calling it out in this particular situation since the participants are all frequent posters and it would likely not be a problem. But it is a long-term game problem potentially because letting it go sets a precedent that initiative is okay to use which would likely lead to arguments and frustration later down the line. So I really can't let it slide.

Lim-Mor remember to list the save DC for your charm effect. I believe Celestial Spell likes are charisma based, but I don't know your character very well.

I'll get my water angel shells, and pearls, and coral beads, sea stars and sand dollars....

I'm evil... but its funny

As long as you haven't attacked its feasible

It hasn't for me. They get a +5 to the save, but it could work. :)

Pretty sure I got the job. No optimistic smiley yet though, to be safe.

Bugmen might not be evil. Hell, they might be Good. Plus, Asha and Tryko'Sam aren't necessarily Good either. Just putting that out there.

He has blasphemy too.

And i hadn't thought about Asha's HD. The others could defiantly survive.

Scrying spells don't generate visuals, if not mistaken, for others. It's additional personalized extension of your senses for the one who casts it and generates a mystical connection with the location, which per the description I posted, implies a 'quick glance' which is really all that had occurred so far, with Scrying no less, isn't yet carefully studied. Maybe after thirty seconds or so.

If your interpretation is the way to go, it suggests using illusions, a photograph or even cameras as a means for teleporting to have the carefully studied connection with but a glance. That's fine by me, favors the teleporter quite a bit, in my opinion. I'll go with that, happily.

Definitely if a familiar were there, due to that connection relationship, I'd make the level of familiarity as high as possible.

As for being hung up? Nah. Just years of playing which doesn't seem to always jive well here, so far. Gamers are sometimes a stubborn lot!

Regardless though, failed teleports rolls are more entertaining than anything else, and being perfect kinda kills the point of heroic attempts. Which Lim did do, so kudos there.

No initiative? Okay. I guess who goes first is part of the scene.

Icehawk, anything from snail girl, or just no posts yet?

Are you casting a spell, or are you using the 8th level version of charm monster as a spell like ability?

Per the below, or what?

Charm Monster

Please remember to link abilities, I really am not a walking library of source books, especially if you might be using 2.0 or other version stuff. :)

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

It's just a spell-like ablity, mass charm monster, as per the 8th lv spell, that he gets for free from being a half-celestial of 16hd?

Wow. Impressive. That's pretty damn potent.

That's only one less than any Arcane caster who's 16th level. :) still impressive.

Yeah, that's true.

He also gets horrid wilting from his demonic half.

You can see a list of his spell likes on his page.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

Also, the ablity is based on int or wis, witchever is higher, for both half-celestial and half-fiend.

Posting from phone, can't be all that long-winded. Capt, Carl's post is going to cause major problems. Doesn't fit timeline and if he gets out of his ship past loading dock he's going to cause an incident. And right now he's got no reason to do this in person. Radio convo would make more sense.

Unless I'm misreading things and he didn't actually go over to the other shuttle.

Thanks. It's no problem if he contacts the other ship or they contact him since he has the medical facilities Mel needs. It's just not good for him to be wandering around outside the ship. Aside from being very hot out there we don't need more rioting.

Anytime.

Plus, Edward, if you actually wanted a specific storyline generated, I could help. It does require you sharing goals. Just putting that out there. Or suggestions, 'cause I do love to advise about in-game stuff.

Brain storming is fun. Collaborating with others is more fun.

Talking to walls? No so fun.
