Funny, I wonder how many of us do the same thing. I always start with Discussion before Gameplay too. Quite a busy one today. No worries on being snarky Mini. I think you do a great job of sensing consensus with us. We just need to be good about always seconding a course of action (or hop in with a disagreement if things haven't moved too far forward), that makes it easier for you to know what to do with us.

So here's my plan someone piss it off as it charges I will drop tentacles. Then once it breaks free I will hinder it with volcanic storm. You guys hurt it as bad as you can before it gets to us then Mizaru charges and meets it half way. I can cast a heroism on one person or I can save the slot for a heal you guys pick.

This is probably the hardest combat...assuming you go the ombat route, that you will have to face.

I don't think the bugs are going to be very receptive :) All I remember about skittering is the skitterdarks. C'mon Mizaru, what did that goblin tell you :)

It's likely to be a sentient swarm (possibly a hivemind or acting as a single entity) and seems to act like one anyway. This means AoE spells will be great and single-target cause less damage. The goblin found FIRE to be very effective, but other elemental spells may well work. Pure physical attacks will be useless and trying a mind-affecting spell is risky because the swarm might not actually have a hivemind (or controlling entity) to affect.
If you get covered in it, it will cause you automatic damage. Nasty damage. Think of them as a swarm of land piranhas. They can strip you to bone within a minute. Fire (or light?) looks to ward it away and its natural habitat is darkness.
This means it's very likely that once combat starts, the area will be plunged into darkness again. This will be very bad for us if we have no way of penetrating it to make light, or at least seeing where it is. The bugs move fast and there will likely be a lot of them, possibly enough to cover the whole area.
The last time the goblin faced it, there was one 'main entity' made entirely out of the bugs. Defeating it might break up the swarm, but this could be something else.

I've got the ability to make my breath fire, or other elements, but that is probably Boneyard's most effective tactic against a swarm.

And I don't dig through other peoples character sheets its why I didn't know you didn't have spells lol. I though what you had memorized just wasn't handy. I wish I could talk with them, but I used my scroll of tongues and I don't think we've come up with a replacement or similar items.
I've considered trying to use locate object, but I haven't seen the staff and I don't think we got a detailed description.
Also considered create treasure map (I think I have it back from the halfling), but I don't have a likely body to use it on.
I should certainly put up saving finale when we get ready to act to help with possible missed saves. I can also put up good hope, haste and protection from evil.
Offensively, my best bet is probably going to be setting up the trap I stole (if I still have it, I have to check how long its been) and spamming fire breath as long as I can figure out where to target.
I'll probably use my potion of fly, not sure if it will do any good. I don't think I'll use invisibility since it will cut into my uses of fire breath and I'd lose invisibility as soon as I attack anyway.

hey guys just so you know I think this game wraps around level 11-14 Somewhere in there. So if you are looking ahead at progression keep that in mind
Also careful of a TPK in here. A TPK in here is a Campaign killer.

Mizaru can move fast with a climb speed, and some of you probably have Fly. We could set up some more ropes to help lead us up, or tie them around our waists if we want to not lose track of it if we turn blind.
Oh, I have vermin repellent, but only good for one person. It's worth a try in putting on if the opponent is vermin.
If any of you have Craft (alchemy), we can spend some time making a lot more.
