As a head's up, Cryrsanidun is planning to create soil and sediment when the next round of AP is generated--soft earth to absorb the offending waters and muffle and distort the noise from the water and above into something less disruptive to its Song.
By coincidence, this should also allow Cryr's otherwise hard, barren earth to support plant life.
EDIT: Also Death, I was curious what "fatal mist" means in terms of effect. Like, suffocating amounts of smoggy air? Scalding steam? Poisonous/acidic vapors?

Marco Polaris |

(I think we're all waiting on cryer's reaction in gameplay)
Sorry if you are waiting on me, I didn't want to seem OOC whiny by having a post that doesn't do anything but have Cryrsanidun berating and insulting the other gods for breaking its toys so early in the game. Yeah, that's something the god would do, but I don't want to do anything to taint the well among strangers, one player to another.
I guess I could use this as the impetus to create Cryr's elemental realm in the meantime.

I saw it as a.... You made places of great heat for your creations to live, and I'm giving you the liquid/flowing/glowing water and fire blend... Earth can later come along and be like... When your fire loses its heat and the liquidity along with it then it becomes stone once more...
you thing of them in a certain way because that's what you are used to... :D new universe, new rules

Magnus The Great |

I am a god, a god of fire I didn't need the help of air to make the sun even though it's really hot air,
I made volcanoes, the rules say that's something I can do, volcanoes mean lava, that's the point of my making them,
You could still gift hot springs, that's a thing you could give to me I wouldn't do on my own, but would appriciate or you could do something else, but you're giving me something I already have,
If unchanged I'll say as much in character

Aya Storm |

I was actually expecting at tantrum Marco.
Aya is trying to help though it isn't much. Your tantrums can be the first earthquakes if you wish even. You can even request of the wind that all earth washed away be picked up and brought back, ala sandstorms are created, also mud, and muddy waters. You are allowed to strike back in a way. You can even make the first swamps trying to keep the ocean and rivers from eating away at some of your coastline areas buy using plant life to slow it down. Remember when creating land you get a FREE create mundane life to go with it. As the mod I allow you to use this the populate the world with plant life and simple animals(ex. gerbils) as you see fit.
Right now we are basically setting up natural cycles of the world. It is my world to a bit remember.

GM Moshado |

Also remember guys. Per the rule you should discuss some of this before you post it in game play. After all you are directly effecting our creation. Since it is primarily Crys's then he had dominate say over it. We can use this as a roleplaying opportunity it is true but this is still a collaboration.
Next time ask permission so he has a way planned out to react or he can say no.

Magnus The Great |

Ahh, the site said 2400 eastern time hence the confusion
I was going to just have it essentially where the volcanoes pretty much act like regular volcanoes, except that despite the pools of lava they haven't erupted yet, but once the lava leaves the volcano it does eventually cool off at the normal rate, such as when it hits water, and turns back into earth when such happens, usually black volcanic glass, but frequently other igneous rocks.

Death_Keeper |

That's the problem.... You say you made volcanoes.
you think... Earth volcanoes... Running lava, eruptions, cools down and becomes stone...
you think all these aspects....
this is a totally new and exciting universe... Maybe we think lava shouldn't flow. Or that the volcanoes don't explode.. You haven't told us what you made. Just expect us to infer that its earthlike and want us to go along....

Magnus The Great |

Except I said volcano, not fire, or fire mountain, or giant flaming marshmallow, which already covers that,
vol·ca·no
välˈkānō,vôl-/
noun
noun: volcano; plural noun: volcanoes; plural noun: volcanos
a mountain or hill, typically conical, having a crater or vent through which lava, rock fragments, hot vapor, and gas are being or have been erupted from the earth's crust.
Unless you thought I meant "an intense suppressed emotion or situation liable to burst out suddenly." Then my meaning was clear because we the players are all using the same language, something used to facilitate communication
I even described it as tendrils of fire going into the earth transforming it into volcanoes, earth+fire=volcanoes
Our language is based on our experiences including our world, thus when I say a range of volcanoes otherwise similar to the Himalayas, you can understand my meaning that I made a large string of pointy rocks filled with lava.
I'm not trying to be difficult but I'm not seeing how you can be confused at this.
This one aspect is earth like, am I to take your distaste at this to mean that any fish you make swim backwards and are covered in hair?!?

GM Moshado |

He is saying that a volcano doesn't have to be how we know it.
It can be anything we imagine. I could make a race called elves and their actual description be that of squat creatures with big noses and no eyes.
He is saying he wants you to define what YOUR volcano's are. You can change what we know of things how ever you see fit.

![]() |

And I was saying by giving that word without any statement contrary to such I did define it, I said that I used tendrils of fire reaching into the earth to create vcanoes, prefaced with statements wondering how our rock friend would react, at least strongly implying that it would affect him
He previously made statements assuming that the water was affected by a gravity like effect, was that out of line?
Must I also describe my sun spelling out that not only is it big and gives off light, but also is really really hot?
Should I link to a dictionary every time I use a noun that means what it normally means?

GM Moshado |

It helps to clarify what exactly you want out of what you make. The more detailed you are then the more we react. If you want the Earth translations of the words then you can state as such. I have learned in this game don't take everything by its name and expect it to be just like earth.
There is no need to get upset. I am saying that unless you tell me it is like Earth, then I will go off what descriptions you give and was asking for clarification. You merely had to say earth like volcano's.
As Death Keeper said. We can make anything how we want and it does not have to fit earth convention. I am just getting settled at my new place looking for a house and soon will make full up descriptions of Clouds, the air and the dragons. Clouds don't behave exactly the same as they do on earth but share a lot of similar features. Once we hear back from Crys I was going to make the concept of weather too.
For all I know the oceans Serass made can be red or pink or even worse chartreuse. As it is the world is a multifaceted jewel that shimmers in the light of the sun. And the mountain that he used to create the dragon was Cobalt.
Crys, if you do not wish the volcano's or the ocean's to be there we can work that out. Since technically permission needed to be granted by you so far. If you are okay with them staying we can roleplay him being upset and mandating they ask permission in person in gameplay thread before they ruin his masterpiece anymore.
If he does say no, those points will be returned to the players. This is part of kinks of learning a new system.

The whole point of my 'gifts' was to spread water to all corners and create plantlife, and I sought to give something to fire. Changing magma to stone was taking something away. So I tried to let the lava gain the flowing properties of water. And if Magnus doesn't wish to accept. Fine, have him state in the game that he denies my gift.
Then Serass will react with removing his life-giving moisture from parts of the earth, creating deserts.

what's wrong with soothing hot springs
As is in character I'll say you're giving me something I already have
Magnus The Great |

Ok given the amount of lapsed time I'm going to take that as you want to make the offering to Magnus to give him what he already has, I'll put up a post after work tomorrow,
I've decided to use my free "create mundane life" with the creation of the volcano to create something I'm naming "Fire weed"
Fire weed is a plant that grows anywhere that is habitually very very hot, around the rim of volcanoes for example,
It starts out as a green mossy looking plant but then grows into a shrubbery with duel purpose vine/roots, growing out of it, on the bush portion you'll find little red nuts resembling in appearance and taste, Hot Tamales (TM) (referring to the candy) the vines have bright red berries that contain a fluid that when pored over a combustible object causes it to spontaneously ignite, the the smoke from burning the leaves is also a powerful hallucinogen and a mild sedative.

Aya Storm |

If you suggest your hot springs Idea Magnus in character I think it would work to continuing on things. You hadn't responded in Character and I think that is what he is waiting on. Remember no god knows what you spent AP on unless it directly effects their creations. So explanations IN character help.

Magnus The Great |

Cool
In character he wouldn't think of the hot springs, but would definitely appreciate it
After you gift hot springs or whatever else, in turn I'll make it so that fire (possibly other than the fire on my special plane) creates water (much like it does in our world)
Also, fire weed ok for mundane life?
