I think if anything the fires will make this easier, less guards to go around. We just need to be subtle.

You know where Danilo lives, specifically in the High District, and that he is a very cautious man and travels with a retinue of guards (former soldiers), at least 5, at all times. He is a fan of a well-known bard's singing, Tovaris, who is scheduled to sing at the Opera House tonight at 7:00 pm. And more importantly, you know what he looks like! "Likey he will have bodyguards but with the mix of skills in this group we should be able to overcome them. Now if we had more time I might advocate a more subtle approach. I could disguise myself as a noblewoman and convince Danilo to go somewhere private away from the guards where we could set up an ambush. But as I am a wanted woman, it could be possible that someone at the Opera House will recognise my face. In this case, the physical approach seems like the best method."

Amanda thinks on strategy and says, "We could weaken Danilo's protection by arranging his carriage have an "accident". Trip up the horses so that the Carriage crashes injuring or disorienting the passengers and making them an easier target to take out. That is if Danilo makes use of a carriage. If not we'll just have to ambush his group and fight him on foot."

"If the distraction can be managed, I can deal with bodyguards. However, we will need to be quick. One of us should be directly responsible for killing Danilo. Whoever has that task must perform it without wasting time on the guards. The regular watch has an entirely too effecient habit of responding quickly to altercations."

He pauses tapping his sword hilt, " I do believe his favorite singer Tovaris will be performing at the opera house when the evening bell strikes the 7th hour past noon this night. I think our friend Gustav has chosen an opportune moment for us to visit Danilo."

hmmm, if we take him in a carriage, two or three guards on the carriage, one or two out riders, if he is really paranoid, one in the carriage with him. Does he ride an enclosed carriage or open? Hmmm. We wait until the carriage is at some speed, and either about to turn or turning. Then we kill the horses. The carriage flips, hopefully killing his guards. Then we rush the coach, to make sure he is dead, then leave quickly. If one of you spell casters could make a fog or something, all the better to escape.
You notice mysty's eyes gleaming with pleasure at planning this, belying the serious tone of her voice. Then she giggles.

Then with a strange shift she again becomes serious. Take out the horses, wreaking the carriage and the guards will be easy meat. We can be in and out in under 30 seconds if we do this right

Looking to Damien she says, "The seduction method can work in proper circumstances. This would require more preparation we have time for though. As a man of wealth, he would only be interested in women of similar class. This would involve getting noble clothing and jewelry to properly play the part. We do not have time to set up these preparations nor do I want to waste funds on such fineries. In a short term job like this, we strike hard, fast and into the right locale. I say we hit the carriage while it is on the move,"

OK, so we need a temporary sanctuary, disguises and to scout the area near the opera house, or the route our target is to take. Also we need to be able to disable or kill two to four horses quickly. How do we obtain these things?

Amanda says, "To disable a horse carriage all you need is a good obstacle to trip them up. Some barrels or other suitably large objects would suffice. That or find some way to cause them to lose control and crash into some nearby structure. As for the route, we merely have to know where his estate and the opera house is and find the shortest route between both places."
