Female Elf [ HP: 12/12 | AC: 17 (13 TAC, 14 FFAC) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +2 | Init: +3 | Perception +8 ] Ranger 1 [ Speed 20 ft | Spells: 1st 0/0 | Longbow +4/1d8, Longsword +3/1d8+2 | Active conditions: none ]

I don't get to move in the surprise round if I'm not aware of the enemies, right? or does she know that they're on the other side of the carts, just doesn't currently have line of sight?

Also, Initiative Owl is beautiful.

Why, thank you. Erthriel is aware enough of the presence of threats (and scored high enough in the Initiative order) to merit an extra action, especially given her unfortunate positioning.

In subsequent encounters, I'll follow standard rules for surprise rounds, including Perception checks.

Male LG Sin Eater Human | HP: 10/10 Nonlethal:| AC: 18 (12 Tch, 16 Fl) | CMB: +2, CMD: 14 | F: +3, R: +2, W: +6 | Init: +2 | Perc: +8, SM: +8 | Speed 30ft (20 in armor | Active conditions: None.

Out of curiosity, do I need to wait for the surprise actions to be posted, or are they being rolled into the primary round? Just not wanting to step on any toes.

I may strike last but hopefully strike hard!

Female Elf [ HP: 12/12 | AC: 17 (13 TAC, 14 FFAC) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +2 | Init: +3 | Perception +8 ] Ranger 1 [ Speed 20 ft | Spells: 1st 0/0 | Longbow +4/1d8, Longsword +3/1d8+2 | Active conditions: none ]

For simplicity, I'm just going to combine the actions.

Female Elf [ HP: 12/12 | AC: 17 (13 TAC, 14 FFAC) | CMB: +3, CMD: 16 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +2 | Init: +3 | Perception +8 ] Ranger 1 [ Speed 20 ft | Spells: 1st 0/0 | Longbow +4/1d8, Longsword +3/1d8+2 | Active conditions: none ]

Oh wait, I forgot. Are they human (or are there humans in the group)? It doesn't matter this turn, but if so then favored enemy bonuses would apply. Feel free to have Grant point that out if it's the case.

I don't play ranger much, if ever, in case it wasn't obvious.

Of the eight Nomads, four are human, including the one you targeted. Unfortunately, the favored enemy bonus won't help a natural 1...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks.

I've rolled 4 times so far: three d20s and a d8; results have been 12, 1, 1, 1. Hope that doesn't continue...

You still around, Wes?

Everything okay?
