Some assorted Sverix musings, because I think way too much about this character's future and should probably just wait and see what happens more:
*After having Orrin and Tobias around for a bit, I really like the idea of Sverix earning the personal loyalty of a lot of people over the course of his adventures. It made me think of the Leadership feat, but... I'm not sure how you feel about the Leadership feat, but myself, I prefer that NPC relations are determined solely by role-playing instead of a feat. And while I imagine Sverix will pick up a lot of powerful allies over time, I don't really see him having one set cohort that's always with him.
*I like the idea of Sverix saving a lot of the treasure he finds as a hoard. Given that he's getting a full four-person party's worth of treasure all to himself, I figure he can buy the equipment he needs and still have a lot of money left over to hoard, but we'll have to see if that ends up being true.
*On a related note, I do kind of want to play around with the idea of him paying for equipment clashing with his draconic hoarding instinct. That'll just be me role-playing him, I think, but I look forward to it.
*Another role-play factor I want to play around with is the Draconic Essence aspect of the Draconic Exemplar class. As written, with his dual essence, Sverix has an inborn compulsion to be brave and honorable that only grows as he grows larger and more powerful. Honestly, I'm going to try to play him such that he never has to make the Will saves to go against those compulsions because he would never even try to do anything else. I mostly bring this up because never trying to retreat from an encounter (the Brave essence's compulsion) might be very dangerous for him.
*At the same time as he becomes more and more an embodiment of dragon-ness, I'd like to try to make Sverix more and more an exemplar of Good. I like the idea of him being astoundingly kind, merciful, and generous, and at the same time being a terryfyingly fierce foe of all evil. There might even be some tension between his draconic nature and his inherent goodness and nobility--what will he do when there are good causes that need money? :D
So yeah, in summary I'm trying to cram everything awesome I possibly can into Sverixalint and I should probably stop. XD

Re: the hoard thing, although I haven't posted it yet, Irabeth was going to make a joke about not having a pile of coins for you to sleep on :)
Don't take Leadership. It will sort of happen naturally, and as you say, it will make sense through roleplaying. I expect that some, like Anevia, may stay with you long term, and others, like Tobias and Orrin, will probably join for a while, and then have to go off for other reasons.

Sverixalint |

I can imagine that this is going to be a large post given all the topics Sverix covered. :D
I'm glad Leadership isn't in the picture. I look forward to seeing what happens naturally.
I have considered that it might be amusing for him to take the Divine Source mythic path ability and end up with a cult of crusaders worshipping him. XD

Sverixalint |

Ooooo, that has some neat role-playing possibilities. It definitely seems like something we'd have to set up together for him to take. I'd be interested, though, if you want to build up to that at some point.

Sverixalint |

Oh... I was just re-reading the section on Apsu in Inner Sea Faiths and noticed that Iomedae and Apsu are friends--Iomedae having attempted to form an alliance with the Wayfinder, who, while too caught up in his preparations for his final battle with Dahak, does maintain a friendship with her.
Given the prevalence of Iomedae worship among the crusaders, I thought this might come up sometime. :)

Sverixalint |

Yeah. Particularly if we manage to make it into later books, it will come up in a big way there.
Oooo, sounds exciting. At first I thought you were talking about the Mortal Herald idea, but then I realized which post was the most recent before this. XD
But the real question is: does Sverix turn around three times before laying down to sleep?
No, he just curls up and goes to sleep. :D

Sverixalint |

Oooo, I like it! Because what's more awesome than a final battle involving squadrons of dragons vs. balors, right? :D
Oh, by the way, do you want me to go ahead and post Sverix waking up in the morning?

Sverixalint |

Some big posts recently. :)

Sverixalint |

I'm trying to remember, did you say you have a copy of In the Company of Dragons?

Sverixalint |

It's going to be interesting having you GMing this game and then being my familiar character's master in the other game. :D

Sverixalint |

Oh, I should mention, I don't mind you rolling saves for me when appropriate. I'll try to make clear any unusual bonuses he might have.

Sverixalint |

Hmmm... should I come up with more dreams for Sverix in the future? :)

![]() |

Sure!
I'm heading out to GenCon, where I'm going to be a Tier 1 GM. (That means running 8 PFS tables... I'm gonna be a busy little dude.) (Except I'm not very little.) As such, I will probably not be able to post again until next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Sverixalint |

So I've gathered. Good luck with everything! I'll be waiting eagerly for your return. :D

Sverixalint |

So, how was everything?

![]() |

GenCon was fun, but exhausting. I ran 7 games (out of the 8 I was scheduled to run), and generally didn't get enough sleep. Starfinder was the hit of GenCon, with Paizo's entire stock selling out on the first day (in 6.5 hours). One of them told me they were thinking ahead of time that they might sell out by the end of the Con....
The total eclipse was incredible. If you ever have a chance to see a total solar eclipse, take it. It's like you're transported to an alien planet.
The traffic out of the totality zone was a disaster, and I got back home a day later than I was supposed to.
I'm back and getting settled.

Sverixalint |

I'd heard about them running out of Starfinder books. :D Sounds like it's off to a good start.
I believe the eclipse in 2024 is supposed to pass very near to my home. I'll have to see the totality then!
Welcome back!

Sverixalint |

Oh, yes, the Faeries of Tulia game is waiting for you to say you're ready.

Sverixalint |

I'll be traveling for two weeks starting tomorrow. I don't anticipate being without Internet for more than a day at a time, but it's possible, so if I'm silent for a bit that's why.

Sverixalint |

How goes the recuperating?

![]() |

Sorry it took me so long to get going again! I started picking things up, but before I'd picked everything up the last week of prep before the beginning of the term, and then the actual beginning of the term, hit, so it's been very slow picking up games one-by-one since then.
Anyway, I'm about to figure out what's going on in the current combat, and post an update!

Sverixalint |

No problem! I figured something like that had happened, especially with the delay in getting back.
I *am* very excited to get started up again, though. :) I'm definitely loving this game!

Sverixalint |

Yeah, Sverix is not really being very subtle about this. :D

Sverixalint |

No problem! I'm just excited to continue. :D

Sverixalint |

Hmmm... someone should suggest to Sverix that he get the items he couldn't figure out identified.

Sverixalint |

It looks like my list is:
Unidentified Potion from dropped backpack (at the beginning of the campaign--I think the others broke thanks to the way he got it, so just randomly determine which one it is)
Potion from Hosilla
Wand from Faxton
Cloak from Faxton
Bracers from Faxton

Sverixalint |

Life being busy for you?

Sverixalint |

I see. Hopefully life will calm down for you sometime! XD

Sverixalint |

Wow, I love the massive post! I responded with a bit of a beast of my own. :D
I'll let you know when I've leveled up if there's anything unusual to note. I'm planning on Sverix taking the Spell Resistance Draconic Defense this level, which you'll definitely need to take note of, but I'll have to see if there's anything else unusual I pick.

Sverixalint |

HP: 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 Finally something that's not below 6!

Sverixalint |

Okay, done leveling up! Sverix now has Spell Resistance 8 (not very high yet), and he also took Extra Draconic Gift as his feat, which let him pick up Imbued Spirit this level. He picked Intelligence, so he's now smarter than before, and he used the extra skill points to pick up Intimidate, so he can now be a properly scary dragon.
His warpriest level just gave him a couple more spells, bumped his bite damage up by one die size (it's his sacred weapon), and gave him another die when he uses fervor to heal.

Sverixalint |

Uh-oh, should I be worried about those [redacted]'s? :D

Sverixalint |

Ah, just piquing my curiosity? :D
I was thinking now might be a good time for those tailors that were re-sizing that Cloak of Resistance +1 to show up. Also Anevia might want to suggest to Sverix that he part with some of his loot for the sake of magic items.

Sverixalint |

Oh, can Sverix wear the bracers of armor +1?

![]() |

Yeah; for now, they'll fit on his wrists. In the future, he may need to wear them on a horn or something.... (But they'll still occupy the "wrist" slot.)
(There was an example of a dragon wearing a magic item in an unexpected place somewhere; I will try to remember where that was.)

Sverixalint |

That, or he's eventually going to employ a small army of craftspeople just to keep equipment properly sized for him. :D

Sverixalint |

/me anxiously awaits a new post
I hope life settles down for you a bit! :D
