[b]Turnabout...can you teleport us up? Our friends need us...[/dice]

The idea of facing Clamity terrifies me, but they're alone up there.

Why am I clearing a condition, exactly? Apart from you saying so, I don't understand why I would right now.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Because, Turnabout comforted/supported you. There was a complication added, but for now, I elect to treat it as a hit. (miss doesn't alway mean you fail, it just means the situation gets worse, and usually failing is part of that)

and, yes Turnabout still marks xp for this... the other boot is still hanging there

Female Outsider | Danger 0 | Freak 0 | Saviour 2 | Superior 0 | Mundane 1 | Afraid, Guilty | ○●Potential●○ --- ●○○○○ | 2 Advancements | Current Advice: Trust and depend on others, and let them know about me

Ah.
Still. If it's treated as a hit there'd be choices...more importantly though, I'd need to open up to him before I got any benefits. I wasn't going to do that no matter what he rolled. Not right now.

...it's little better than I could do shortly after my arrival. Barely passable.
Solmira shrugs off the praise, looking smugly self-assured instead of like she was internally berating herself. She'd had enough practice at that, at least. "It's nothing special. It would be pitiful if I couldn't do that little on a stationary, inattentive target."

Her mind turns to Sorrel and Tox. No response yet, and that concerned her. Those two were the least aggravating elements of the team.
I took down Warlock, and Turnabout seems to have dealt with DarqSoul...though admittedly, DarqSoul apparently can't even master spelling, so I doubt he was anything special. That leaves...Doctor Calamity...
Alright, that was cause for concern. The fight with Warlock was bad enough, but Calamity is apparently far more powerful. Enough so to be devastating despite how sloppy he is. What if he'd found Sorrel and Tox? She'd had enough frustration with the Warlock, and they were far more vulnerable than her.
It just had to be those two, out of everyone in the team...
She wasn't visibly nervous, but as Solmira spoke into the communicator, her voice took on a harsher edge. "Sorrel. Tox. Where in are you in there, and what is your situation?"

Male Janus| Danger +2 | Freak -2 | Saviour 0 | Superior 0 | Mundane +3 | ○●Potential●○ --- ●●○○

Tox sees the oppourtunity that Sorrel brings aobut and leaps out of cover and charges forward. His gloves are woven black silk, and moe importantly, allow poison to pass through easily.

"Goodnight." he says, attempting to press his palm against an open part of skin or some place exposed. He then injects poison designed to lower the pulse rate, slowing oxygen to the brain, causing him to slowly lose focus and fall unconscious.

Directly engage: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 1 = 8
I'll frighten the opposition. I wonder if Sorrel's opportunity might help me avoid trading blows though? Just curious.

Aftwards, regardless of what happens, Tox responds to Solmira.

"Kinda busy!" he replies, half panicked. "Hostages out, and I think we got it. Would LOVE backup though."

Protege 2.2 | Danger -1, Freak +2, Savior +1, Superior +1, Mundane +0 | guilty, insecure | +1 ongoing to getting team in shape

That didn't sound good.. "Sure thing, we'll be there momentarily" Turnabout replies to Tox. He looks at Solmira and asks "Want me to get you in, or are you going to knock on a window?"

Turnabout then focuses on where his scan revealed Calamity to be, and tries to teleport just outside that room, with KQ and Sol (if she said yes) in tow.

If 'bring a passenger' and 'haven't seen my destination' add up to 'Unleash':

Unleash DarqSoul's Powers: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 2) + 1 = 4

Solmira

I.... forgot how that move worked... sorry, I won't do that again. yeah, treat it as a hit, and know that the situation got complicated in a way that isn't immediately apparent. you chose not to open up, so no effect. cool.

Sorrel

in response to your grapple, Calamity struggles, moving positions and throwing furniture. You see the mayor take the opportunity, whispering thank you, thank you so much as she rushes past. You eventually need to release, to avoid taking a bookshelf to the head. Leaping back, he tears up floorboards and ceiling, creating a hole in the floor between you two. What do you do?

Tox

You get a moments contact, injecting enough poison to slow him down, drop his reflexes, before he pushes you back, slamming you against the walls, before abrubtly changing tactics, drawing up the floorboards, the broken furniture, the shards of the windows, and forming a barrier between your team and himself. what do you do?

Turnabout

you and your passengers arrive, but not specially safely. you didn't know, couldn't have accounted for the hole in the floor. you, KQ, and solmira are all dangling on the edge. (well, only kinda Solmira, she is a flier after all). what do you do?

Male Legacy |Dan: -2|Fre: 1|Sav: 3|Sup: 1|Mun: 1| Angry, Insecure, Hopeless | Potential: 1/5 1 advancement

Did running away into the sewer clear afraid for me? Important to decide what I do next

If you mean when you fell through the floor, I wouldn't think you'd get to clear a condition for something that was essentially accidental. I mean, you were making a pointed effort NOT to end up down there - and to generally not fall into the planet's core, but still - you weren't trying to run. T'was a power freakout.

As Solmira finds herself floating by the edge of a hole in the floor, she briefly wonders if falling through floors is some sort of theme for the day.
Deciding that short of a cosmic prankster playing them special attention, that was absurd, she grabs onto Kid Quickman and starts lifting him out with her. Turnabout could teleport now, as evidenced by him getting them into this mess - he'd be fine.
Dropping Kid Quickman on the ground near Calamity the moment they'd cleared the edge, she starts pelting the villain with orbs, seeking to harry him over attempting to subdue him. She doubted she could just take him down like that, and with only the possible exception of Sorrel, she was tougher than the others.
So, she commits to holding his attention until everyone else could mobilise.

Staying on the move and continuing to lay down suppressive fire, she calls out, voice thick with condescension. "Is this all you can muster? You style yourself as the great Doctor Calamity, but it's abundantly clear to me that you're just an attention-seeking hack!"

Come on, Doctor! Pay attention to me! Just me!

Seeing Solimira draw Dr. Calamity's attention is the best opportunity I'll get. I vibrate my fist into a cyclone punch and strike him. It helps my hands are already shaking in fear.

directly engage: 2d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 6) - 3 = 7

I hit Dr. Calamity..and he hits me back...probably with a brick or a desk or Solimira.

Protege 2.2 | Danger -1, Freak +2, Savior +1, Superior +1, Mundane +0 | guilty, insecure | +1 ongoing to getting team in shape

Once Sol grabs KQ, Turnabout simply pulls himself up onto the floor, then advances next to KQ, ready to (try to) counter anything Calamity tries.

KQ, on a 7-9 you still get to pick one, possibly including "resist or avoid their blows". If you pick something else, my roll below should maybe kick in.

Defend if KQ is taking a blow:

Defend KQ from the doctor: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 5) + 1 = 12
If that kicks in, I'll clear Afraid; this guy may not be so tough after all!

Calamity growls, clearly angered by your words take +1 against him.

This is who they send to stop me. I'm a little insulted. I mean, Quickmans lesser spawn, Mirror's kid, thats pretty bad, but the centaur and the bug freak? Come On! he punctuates the statement with a surge forward of his barrier, before contracting it. And you, another wastrel from across the cosmos, fallen to earth and acting like hot s@%$! I gotta tell you something, girlie, there've been dozens like you, hundreds! He's boosting mundane, reducing superior what do you do?

Kid Quickman

I don't think that counts as running away, just being knock away from the arena. also, if it had, you wouldn't clear it until the end of the scene (C&S clears immediately, taking the prescribed actions clears with a delay). also, just going to have you pick your hit option on Directly Engage, before I do that part

Tox

Kid Quickman's fists of fury knock Calamity back, and Turnabout is able to teleport you both out of the barrage of glass shards' path. Calamity gets to his feet, and shouts NO! I will not be taken down, Not by you! I will not just be another washed up villain! I will not!

what do you do?

Male Legacy |Dan: -2|Fre: 1|Sav: 3|Sup: 1|Mun: 1| Angry, Insecure, Hopeless | Potential: 1/5 1 advancement

Eh...by the time they've called us, washed up is all you are.

That tornado punch took a lot of of me, and I'm too scared of him to hit him while he's looking at me, but I'm ready to defend anyone who needs it.

Solmira wished she could deny what Calamity said to her...but she couldn't. She was just yet another alien.
She didn't want to be just another anything. Not again.
At the very least, his following outburst after Kid Quickman hit him gave her the opportunity to deflect, and avoid thinking about the matter.

"Now now, be fair." Solmira shakes her head, smirking. "He's not washed up. That'd suggest he got anywhere in the first place." She sniggers. "Really now. Hundreds like me? There are thousands like you. Millions. It doesn't matter if you can smash things in a tantrum like your typical manchild - you're just another hopeless fool that thinks themself more than they truly are, trying futilely to cow others in order to validate yourself." She continues to laugh, false mirth inundated with smug overtones. "Insulted? You should be glad they thought you were worth this much. Though then again, that's probably more to do with the pyro and fool with the knives causing trouble as you hid yourself away. Odds are, you were just a secondary concern. How pitiful."

Solmira makes an exaggerated shrug, using her arms to emphasise the gesture beyond a simple rise and fall of her shoulders. "What does it matter if I act like 'hot s~++', in your words? It's not a particular concern when I have actual s%&@ before me."

Come one, come all! Poke the bear with a stick! See if you can get it to try and maul you!
That's right, I'm trying to get him to focus on me again!

Provoke Someone: 2d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 + 1 = 8

This wasn't getting them anywhere. At this rate, Dr. Calamity would bury himself in the ruin of this building before he surrendered. Sorrel couldn't let that happen. The self-styled villain seemed to just want to be recognized. Isn't that all anyone wanted? Recognition? Unfortunately, Sorrel wasn't the one who could reach out to him like that. His wasn't a face that read empathy. His was for striking fear.

"It's worse. We're the ones they send when they want someone gone!" Sorrel takes a sanguine stance, arm outstretched. In the center of his forehead, an eye opens like a ruby with a slit iris, lidded in purple skin.

Be The Monster: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3) + 3 = 11

Oh thank god.

Tox can feel his costume absorb the kinetic force of slamming into the wall, and falling to the floor. Thankfully, the tight weave protected him enough that he didn't have any serious injuries.

Will hold on acting as I think the last guy is about to be knocked out.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Turnabout gets behind Calamity, and distracted as he is, he doesn't react fast enough, Turnabout nails him, back of the head. probably will concuss him, definitely will keep him down long enough to get the cuffs on. All the levitated objects clatter to the ground, most of them pretty well destroyed

outside, along with a small number of news teams, you find Slipstream and Archangel (Lucy and Kendra, to you guys) . Hey guys Slipstream says, smiling as she leans against the police van.

We just came by to see if you needed help. Archangel says, hovering a few feet off the ground, still clad in her painfully bright armour. Photo's are being taken by the media, of you guys, and Slipstream and Archangel

Actully, we also wanted to invite you guys Lucy gestures to Michael, Quentin, and Solmira To join the choir, over at The Lair The lair is a local resturant which primarily caters to supers, run by Katrina Alainis, AKA Ember, a retired super.

what do you do?

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Also, Tox and KQ should take influence on Lucy, and Turnabout, KQ and Sorrel should take influence on Kendra. Who cares what either of them think about them?

If I'm taking influence on my sister, I get potential and +1 forward

I flash an icy smile to Slipstream. That's a lovely offer, Kid Lady Quickman, I put one arm around Tox's shoulder, the other around Sorrel's shoulder But I think we'll be getting our own table at the Lair.

Protege 2.2 | Danger -1, Freak +2, Savior +1, Superior +1, Mundane +0 | guilty, insecure | +1 ongoing to getting team in shape

They probably both have influence; they're closer to being real capes than I am. Is Archangel an adult? She'd automatically have influence then, right?

When Turnabout spots Slipstream, he gets a distinct smile on his face, hoists Calamity, and teleports the doctor over to the response team before blinking back and resuming the walk of triumph with his team.

To Kendra, he replies, "Thanks, but we took care of it. How'd things go at the bank?"

At Lucy's invitation, Michael's slightly too enthusiastic "Yes!" overlaps KQ's "no"; it takes him a moment to realize why, and another moment to say "Well...maybe after we eat."

I was about to ask why your potential track was out of 5, but I just looked and realised I'd managed to miss a box. Whoops.

Painfully bright to anyone else, maybe. Solmira fared just fine with Archangel's choice in protection.

The omissions in the offer don't escape Solmira's notice, and she sends a pointed look Turnabout's way for his response. Whether Kid Quickman noticed as well or if he just sought to snub his sibling she was unsure of, but at the very least, she appreciated the show of camaraderie he put on. She imagined Sorrel would be the most appreciative of it.
She wasn't planning to be so blunt as he was, though. Thankfully, she had an excuse lined up that didn't involve her limited finances.

"I appreciate the offer, but I'm afraid I have my own matters to see to. In being called out for the situation here, a rather important meeting of mine had to be interrupted." She touches down, and walks up to Tox. "I remember you likely have obligations of your own, Tox. Do you need me to see you elsewhere, or do you think you shall be alright for now?"

Archangle's opinion matters to Sorrel more than is probably healthy. Especially since they saved her he's been seeking her approval.

Kid Quickman's arm sends a shiver down Sorrel's spine, ending in a flick of his tail. He didn't want to get in Quickie's way, and Solmira definitely deserved better than to be stuck on the bench. Sorrel and Tox would be left behind eventually.

Sorrel speaks to Kid Quickman in hushed tones. Not whispering, but not over the others speaking. "You sure, Quickie? You're not tired slumming it in junior varsity? I mean, we don't even have a team name."

Tox would care about Lucy, thinking they were both people of suffering. He wouldn't be concerned with Kendra, she can take care of herself.

Tox grabs his head with both hands and firmly pops his neck, eliciting a series of small sounds as a small bit of pleasure replaces the aching he's been feeling. He looks to Solmira, kindly offering him a lift back to wherever he needed.

"I had some plans, but I got a week before anything's really due.I think for once, I'll stick around."

Solmira nods to Tox. "Very well."

She looks over to Sorrel. He was...uncomfortable. That much seemed clear.
Really, she needed to get back. She'd offered to Tox on the basis of having more urgent obligations, but he didn't have anything like that to worry about. She could leave him.
But...she didn't want to leave him like that? And this could be an opportunity to spend some time with him. Do some research.
It'd be fine if she was a little later back, right? She'd been willing to take extra time for Tox. This wasn't that much different.
Solmira bites her lip. Why am I trying to excuse this to myself? This isn't a big deal. It's a polite offer to travel together, and that's all that would happen if he accepted. He'd have some companionship, and I could study him some. It's little more than a small time investment before I get to my checkup. And should he refuse, it would not mean anything about myself.
It wouldn't mean anything either way.

She looks over to Sorrel, giving him a smile subtly tinged with nervousness as she tries to maintain her daily facade. "And you, Sorrel? If you wish to head back, would you care to return with me? -it would be no trouble."
Inwardly, she curses the hurried delivery of her last statement. Of course she would fumble like this. Someone was going to try and force open that crack, weren't they?

"Yeslet'sgothankyou." Sorrel ducks out of the arms over his shoulders and racks* off in the direction of Solmira's deathtrap.

It sucks that public places, even super places, see him as foreign. It sucks to have to eat leafy vegetables and grain all the time. It sucks that he's become so used to secreting neurotoxin that he flinches every time someone touches him. -but what bothered him the most was watching Tox ditch him again, and not being sure if he would come back this time. (Like, really come back.)

*horse for awkwardly speed-walking.
