Leo moves to the left wall, crouching on the pillows.

Horus rushes along the right wall, bursts out the other side of the fog and doesn't see anyone, so he holds his pistol high ready to fire.

Mordanna runs up along the left wall. She also sees nothing on the other side.

Bloodclaw bursts from the mist, moving towards Horus. Horus fires his pistol at the orc.

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Horus' laser goes wide, and the big orc raises his claw, saying "Die!" and a burst of crimson energy shoots out from him hitting Horus and Mordanna.

Hearing the noise, Kimefe runs through the mist, dodging to the side to avoid coming out too close to Bloodclaw. Move to F2

Hearing combat Leo moves carefully along the wall. As he reaches the cloud, he tentatively moves through seeing Mordanna, he smiles and continues.

I a bit lost regarding moving in the pillows and through the cloud, but I plan to take a full move to put me in line of sight with our opponent if that is possible.

The pillows are nothing special. They're not difficult terrain. All the fog does is block sight past 5' and give people within 5' 20% miss chance. Waiting on Mordanna.

"Oh really?" Mordanna says as she moves to E2, then aims and fires.

Grimwold makes hand gestures to Horus attempting to tell him to regroup with the others before rushing up beside the desk. He then releases a wave of his own energy

As the red energy connects with him Leo feels the pain burning through him. It lingers even after the soothing energy emanating from Grimwold.

The pain causes his first shot to go wild, but with determination he connects on hi second shot.

Kimefe fires twice as the pain hits her, but smiles grimly as both shots find their mark.

Kimefe and Leo's combined hail of gunfire toss the big orc around like a ragdoll, the exit wounds spraying trails of misty blood into the air of the office as Bloodclaw slumps to the ground. The obscuring mist disappears and the officers of the Exclesior find themselves alone.

Leo lowers his carbine slightly still keeping the butt firmly planted in his shoulder. He looks around: "Anyone hurt?". Waiting for answers he assess the room for potential threats.

Externally, it appears exactly like the Grunk that Horus knew. But internally it's a robot.

"Hightower find us a way out of here, I don't like being trapped. Kimefe cover Starforge and Na'Tal while they search the bodies. Find me some useful information. I want to know who turned my COO into a tin man with a deathwish." Leo orders and takes a few steps to the other side of the desk, still worried about further attack or traps.


Kimefe moves to the center of the room and slowly turns in circles, watching for any unfamiliar movement.

Ready action to shoot anything that shows up.

Grimwold checks Bloodclaw for any signs of life and then makes a search of his body looking mainly for information.

Heal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Peception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23


Grunk is only carrying a Spitfire pistol, and his clothing. Bloodclaw has a custom looking railgun pistol, his elaborate outfit and a small pouch containing a locked Autoscroll, and several small flawless Arcanicite crystals.

While the elevator doors on this floor have been mangled, the unit itself appears to be still functioning.


Merry Christmas everyone! What's next? Don't forget you've got communicators. The elevator is working, Botarr is escaping, Headman is ??, Still need to pick up your new crew member. You've crippled/destroyed the pirate fleet and killed their leader, so that's probably taken care of.


DM says we don't need to worry about pirates=we don't need to worry about pirates OR a very evil DM.

Seeing that nothing is happening, Kimefe speaks up. "We need to find Botarr. I suggest we do it soon if we want to catch him."

Grimwold takes the pirates pistol tucking it into his belt as well as taking the locked autoscroll and the arcanicite crystals. " Right " he nods at Kimfefe " Let's get after him! " He moves towards the door sending out a pulse of healing energy and stopping next to Horus. " Here let me take a look at those wounds. " He runs his wand over Horus's wounds

2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5 Healing for everyone
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Healing for Horus


Moving ahead while Grimwold heals Horus, Kimefe opens the elevator and steps in, waiting for everyone else to enter.

Horus calls up to the ship, "Captain, Botarr was the mole. He's probably going to try to make a run for it, so keep an eye out for any shuttle craft leaving the area."

Horus enters the elevator.

"We did just detect a shuttle launch. Scans show two lifeforms. We'll handle it. Did you make contact with the Headman?"

Mordanna follows suit and enters the elevator.


"You might want to take them alive Captain, it's possible that Botarr has taken the headman captive."


Male Human

"Not much chance of that. You've got our only shuttle down there on the surface. I'll try to disable their ship, but with guns this big. Stand by." The Comm clicks off, and the elevator begins its descent. A few moments later the Captain comms back through. "We hit their thrusters, but then the shuttle self destructed. Guess Mr. Cinderbeard wasn't going to be taken alive. Why don't you liason with Auriel and try to confirm that the Headman was on the shuttle. If he can't be found, the Guild will likely have to take over control of Cygnuss IV."

He is getting a little to good at this shooting shuttles. Leo thinks listening to the conversation.

"All right you heard the man." Leo says as the captain finishes. He gestures towards the elevator. "Is that thing safe Horus?

"Move out!" Leo orders and heads to the elevator. He adds: "Keep your eyes open."


The elevator slides effortlessly downwards, leaving the smoking ruin of an office behind. As it reaches the atrium level the doors open to reveal Auriel approaching, flanked by several guild-uniformed guards. His expression was one of stern concern until he sees the party. Smiling he hurries forward. "I heard you had returned. I thought you might be meeting with the headman, and messaged Botarr to confirm. There was no response, and the computer was unable to locate his communicator. I tried to message the headman, but he's not responding either. Is everything okay?" His smile slips as he notices the singes and tears in the crew's uniforms and their grim expressions. It is replaced with the same concerned look it bore before as he awaits their response.


Kimefe takes a moment to catch her breath before answering, "Botarr is your traitor; we suspect he has taken the headman prisoner. Unfortunately, the shuttle we think they were on self-destructed; our captain told us to confirm with you whether the headman was on board."


Auriel closes his eyes and lowers his head. "That is most unfortunate. Since his locater chip isn't responding to queries, we'll have to assume he was onboard unless we receive some evidence to the contrary." After a brief pause and a sigh, he asks "What of the pirates? Has the threat been eliminated?"

Sense Motive DC 25:
Auriel is not nearly as upset as he's putting on.

"Near enough. We've eliminated their captain, actually, his corpse is still upstairs, and we've crippled their vessel. It will take them time to regain enough strength to be a threat again, if at all. Either way, without a contact feeding them information, they will never be as effective as they were in the past."


"Well, that at least is wonderful news." He says, smiling. Turning to his guards he says. "Get a team upstairs to clean up the mess." A soldier steps to the side and begins talking quietly into his communicator. Auriel turns back to the group, "Well, it seems as if the Guild will have to take control of Cygnuss Base for the time being. Now that the pirate threat is eliminated the Arcanicite should be able to flow freely. I'll look kindly on you in my report to the Guild leaders." Clasping his hands together in front of him he bows his head, "We owe you a great debt here. Now that your mission is complete I'm sure you'll be leaving soon. Is there anything I can do for you before you go?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 "You could let us finish our job Auriel. Let us confirm independently that the Headman was on board that shuttle and that Botarr didn't have any accomplices! "


He looks taken aback. "Certainly! It was not my intention to shoo you away. You are welcome on Cygnuss for as long as you'd like to stay."

"Why do I have the feeling that this isn't the last we hear from the pirates." Leo whispers to Kimefe.

Afterwards he turns Auriel. "I would like to have a word in private" he says while gesturing at a spot a little away from his cre and the guild representative's men.

Once they have a bit privacy he continues in a lowered voice: "We might need a little help. Our ships isn't exactly unharmed and we need resources to repair, more to the point we need shipsmiths and materials. I would appreciate if this was kept on need to know as much as possible."

After he has spoken with Auriel he turns to his crew. "Lets find a place to debrife." Leo says. I'm not discussing our next move in the hall. he thinks.


Auriel gladly follows Leo. "Of course. The Guild's resources are yours. Now that the Gate isn't under threat from the Bloodclaws I'll call for a skilled astromage immediately. You're welcome to use any of the offices here for your debriefing, or you may return to your private chambers."


As soon as the group is alone Kimefe steps towards Leo and whispers in his ear. "It is very possible that all the rooms here are bugged. Keep that in mind when choosing where we want to debrief."

"We could just return to the ship and debrief with the captain. I think we're pretty much done here. Mission successful-ish"

Let's just go back to the ship and move on. We are really losing momentum here...


Before the officers can decide where they are heading to debrief, their comms click on and the captain summons them back to the ship for a debriefing. Some time later, Auriel has provided them access to the Headman's teleporter and they are back on the Excelsior. They explain everything that has happened to captain Ageera in the deck one conference room.
