Throwing her tools into her toolbelt in frustration, Arana gives the access panel a kick before retreating in defeat.

Listening to the other discuss alternate plans, nodding at the idea of hacking the system, leaving the dismaying physical mechanism alone.

She keeps a lookout for anyone entering the hangar.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Zaleos successfully uses a computer to jam the hanger the rest of the way. However, the hanger door shuts before you can escape. Suddenly you are spotted. A rebel patrol points you guys out. "You there! What's going on? What are you doing here?"

Think fast. What do you do? You do not have time to deliberate. Your mission has been accomplished but you need to escape somehow.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval walks firmly and authoritatively to the patrol; "Straighten up soldier." he barks in a gruff voice. His eyes inspecting the man, trying to put on the air of a sergeant, he checks the speaker for any untidiness in his uniform. "This place is a mess. Don't you know that General Solo is coming for an inspection?"

Male Mandolorean Soldier

He pauses trying to keep a straight face.

Deception: 3d8 ⇒ (1, 6, 4) = 11
Difficulty: 1d12 + 1d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (12) + (1) + (5, 5) = 23
Yep, Karval isn't the best liar - he's too honourable :P Despair & 2 Setbacks. 1 Success & 1 Advantage

Both Martian Level 20 invader

They seem in shock as Karval tells them General Solo is coming by. "Really!" We have to let the Lieutenant know at once. Thank you for the update. The two run off.

You succeeded in your bluff but it may only buy you some time. What is your next course of action. No ship will be able to leave through the hanger doors now and neither can you.

What do you do?

Zaelos releases his held breath as the Rebels buy into the deception. "It will not take them long to figure out the truth here. We need to get out of here. Perhaps there is an alternate way out of here. I would imagine there must be a catwalk where the maintenance crews could work on the ships. If we find one we can follow it to a vent or hatch that leads outside the hangar."

This definitely sounds like a Perception check right?

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Are there other doors? The hangar door for the ships is no longer functioning, but is there not a normal door, like the one we came in?

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"They won't be gone long, a vent or side door sounds good." Karval adds, slightly abashed that his dishonesty seemingly worked.....for the moment. "Maybe get to the roof & get a transport to pick us up?"

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Vents are a possibility. The way you came in is a choice too but far more heavily guarded and the checks you made to pass in first will be harder. You could also head deeper into the base.

Zaelos nods, "It is too risky to try to fool the guards again. Let's see if there are any ways out of here." He plls out his datapad and calls up a blueprint of the hanger. "Hopefully they will show up in the plans here."

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Anyone notice any vehicles on the roof? Speeders, rather than full fighters?" Karaval muses, looking at the plans with Zaleos. He slowly starts walking, to avoid loitering around suspiciously.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

The speeders are all in the hanger. There may be landing craft on the roof however. Is this the decision?

"I think we should try to get to the roof. Those guards will be back soon."

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Janitor nods. "Right, let's move." He instinctively takes point, scanning for any threats to the group, only his experience keeping him from drawing his blaster.

Arana was still poking about with the door mechanism schematic "Hmmm, maybe this motivator had to be polarized...no, that would reverse the current flow..." trying to figure out what she missed, when Janitor's sharp statement snapped her out of her thoughtful examination.

Gathering up her tools, she run over to join the others.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

The team moves to the stairways that lead to the upper catwalks of the hanger. You move quickly but careful not to arouse suspicion. You make your way to the second set of stair when the alarm finally sounds.

You reach the top of the stairs and go through the door there. When you go through you hear someone shout. "You there halt!" You see a full squad of rebel security standing before you. (5 Rebel security officers) They continue. "If you are true pilots of the Alliance then turn yourselves in for questioning, otherwise we fire"

You can attempt to negotiate or engage in battle. If you choose to fight, then roll initiative. The roll will be either cool or vigilance with no difficulty dies. The number of successes determines the order of turns.

Once someone has spoken or everyone has rolled initiative, I will post the next part.

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius moves slowly, keeping his eye on Zaleos.

Alright commander, how do you want to play this?

Sry guys, thought I'd posted earlier, hope you weren't waiting on me.

As the rebels advance toward them, Arana instinctively reaches for the Force, attmepting to sway the will of the security officers....

Force Die 1d12 ⇒ 4

1 Dark side token generated

However, her mind was still scattered by her failure with the hangar door, only dark tendrils of the force reacted to her will, buffeting her mind, her attempt flickering and failing...

Zaelos feels Arana Force tug and instinctively tries to pick up on the mood of the Rebels guards. Holding his hands out to show he is as nonthreatening as possible, he slowly advances towards them and responds, "Of course. I just heard the alarm raised. My squad here was moving to investigate some people I had not seen before. They looked like maintenance but they disappeared down this path and looked like they did not want to be noticed. I figured on following them to see where they are headed."

Not sure if this is Negotiation or Deception here...but obviously I want Negotiation here.
Negotiation: 3d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (1, 2, 4) + (2) = 9 4 success.
Difficulty: 2d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) + (1, 1) = 6 2 failure.
Total: 2 success. Let me know if I need to roll for a different skill Shanosuke.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry for the long drawn delay. I am currently running 6 Star Wars games and am preparing to move. So I have been very busy. This is actually the first time I have sat down to my computer all week.

That would have been a deception roll but I won't worry about it because I delayed for so long.

The squads looks away surprised. "I see. Maintenance. Makes sense. Come with us we will look for them together."

What do you do?

Again my response time will be low for a while but I will keep going.

Zaelos nods in agreement with the Rebel guards. "Very well. If those men were Empire agents, we shall track them down."

I figure it would be easier to lead them on a wild goose chase for a little bit before dealing with them for good. Also hopefully we can find a good spot to ambush them out of sight of any other guards.

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius watches to see if the men act silly move in front of the group and lead them, or if they begin to move tactically to surround them like prisoners.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval falls in behind, intently listening in on any conversation - so that he can ascertain when the base personnel find out about the broken bay door.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Exhaling slowly as Zaleos convinces the rebels not to attack, and impassively follows with the others as they move off. Hope he has a plan here...

Arana, her face a bit clouded at yet another failed attempt to manage her Force powers , It used to be so easy....

Her face brightens however at the success of Zaleos' ploy, hustling to join the others.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

You all are escorted by the guards to the roof where the ships are being held. Once you are up there you see four different vessels to utilize.

There are
3 GR-75 Medium Transports
2 Lambda Class Shuttles
2 Action VI Bulk Transports
and One Heavily Modified YT-1300 Light Freighter

Taking ANY of these ships will require difficult checks or a fight.

Which vehicle do you wish to approach and which skill do you wish to use to approach it?

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval nods to the Lambda class shuttle, with a slight nidge of Janitors elbow. 'We don't want too heavy a transport, lest they already have occupants - or a freighter. A shuttle should be straight-forward enough.' he thinks, however he's not too confident of his own piloting skill.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Janitor quickly surveys the ships before them. Feeling Karval's nudge, he glances to the other Mandalorean and follows his gaze to one of the Lambdas. The trooper gives a small nod and whispers to Zaleos. "Commander, one of the Lambda shuttles would be best, I think."

Zaelos nods in reply, "Agreed. Now we just need to lose our escorts here."

Raising his voice to catch the guards' attention, he says, "Allow me to see if they are still up here. I can use my sight here."

He will use his Force Sight to see if anyone else is up on the roof besides the guards.

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius maintains his soldier's discipline, keeping his mind and hand ready to draw his blaster and fire, while trying to put himself in an optimal position for a firefight.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

There is a group of four guards and an engineer at the base of the shuttle. As you begin to approach, the guards there seem confused and the soldiers you came up here with call out to you. "Hey where are you going?"

How do you wish to respond?

Remember, ANY form of falsehoods or untruths use deception. You have to be creative with your words if you wish to employ a different skill.

Zaelos pauses for a split second, giving an imperceptible nod of approval towards Karval and Janitor's choice of their getaway ship. Like Darius his hand strays to his own blaster.

I do not think we can fool these guards much longer. We have to neutralize them quickly...

Still, he waits for Arana to act as her skills with the Force would certainly be a welcome distraction at least, allowing the soldiers to get the drop on the Rebel guards.

May the Force be with us...

Cool: 2d8 + 2d12 ⇒ (4, 3) + (4, 10) = 21 5 successes, 2 advantages.

Zaelos draws his blaster while responding to the guard. "Thank you for the escort, but we have a prior engagement we need to make."

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Cool dialogue to match the Cool roll using the Cool skill. Cool. Everyone else roll your Cool. This will give us a chance to go over combat. In any fight you initiate, Cool determines order. There are no difficulty it is solely based on number of successes.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

As Zaleos draws his blaster, Janitor slips his own out of its holster and points it at the nearest rebel.

Cool: 1d8 + 1d12 ⇒ (6) + (5) = 11
2 Successes, 1 Advantage. I'm going to go ahead and use the "Notice a single important point in an ongoing conflict" option for my Advantage, as this definitely seems like an important fight that could go places quickly.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

"Escort us to the ship and no-one gets killed." Karval adds in his gravely tones, not as a threat but a warning. His stance subtly shifts as he moves, taking up a defensive fencers posture as he slips onto the balls of his feet. Fingers twitching slowly as a gunfighter preparing to draw.

Cool: 1d12 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + (7, 7) = 16 3 Successes, 2 Advantages

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Darius draws his blaster and takes aim of the highest ranking individual around him.

Damnit... We should kill them and move on. It'd give us more of a head start, he thinks to himself.

Cool: 2d8 ⇒ (7, 3) = 10

Success x 2, Advantage x 1

Darius will also spend an advantage to notice something important

Arana smiles sweetly and draws her own holster on one of the rebel "Sorry , darling, we'll just be moving along now if you don't mind" motioning for the soldier to move out of the way.

Cool

2d8 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
3 success

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Today and tomorrow I am in the final stages of moving. I will post tomorrow night if I can.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Sorry guys. I don't have internet at my new home yet. I need to work out some details with AT&T. Not sure when I will be posting. The complications are keeping me busy. Shouldn't be too long in terms of days.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Okay you all start combat. These are the foes you are aware of:

Rebel Infantry Group A:(Minion 4 Count) - Range(Short)
Rebel Infantry Group B:(Minion 4 Count) - Range(Long)
Dock Workers Group: (Minion 5 Count) - Range (Medium)
Rebel Sergeant: (Rival) - Range(Short)

Initiative Order:
Player
Player
Enemy
Player
Player
Enemy
Enemy
Player
Enemy

Two players get the first two slots. Whoever posts first goes first.

Special Actions
Getting on the shuttle takes 3 maneuvers total. One additional maneuver to get into the pilots seat.

It takes a Pilot Space or computers check(Copilot) vs 3 Purple (D8) to determine how long it takes to start up the ship. 6 rounds for base success, 12 if failure on checks. Rounds increase with Threats and decrease with Advantages Triumphs mean the ship is instantly ready to go on a success. Fail with a Triumph means a computers check is needed vs 2 purple die. Success that means the ship is ready. Failure on that means the Triumph is null.

Remember Narrative Play You should know the results of your actions. Give your turns a narrative flair and take some liberties. I may even pass you additional advantages or boosts if I like what I see.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Apologies. It has been a while. I should have had the rebels respond to some of those comments.

The sergeant shouts. "Imperial dogs! Set for stun! Don't let them get away!"

If you want, I can let them shoot first. They outnumber you regardless of their skill. They feel confident they can take you.

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

On that note, Darius is happy to take them.

I always enjoy it the most when they refuse to go the easy way! Darius says as he raises his blaster up, takes aim, and fires at the sergeant.

Darius' shot hits the sergeant much harder than he expected.

Boost from aim and from quick strike

Ranged Light: 3d12 + 1d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 7) + (7) + (6, 6) = 31Success x 4, Advantage x 4,

Diff: 1d8 ⇒ 7 Threat x 2

Net: Success x 2, Advantage x 3

Damage: 7 + 3 for deadly accuracy + 1 Point Blank

Spending 2 Advantages to crit (not sure how to do it)
Spending 1 Advantage to notice something coming on in the combat

Male Human Bounty Hunter (Assassin, Gadgeteer) - Wound: 16/16 - Strain: 14/14 - Soak: 2 (3 in Armor)

Critical Check: 1d100 + 20 ⇒ (87) + 20 = 107 Horrific Injury

Critical Injury Characteristic: 1d100 ⇒ 85 Presence

Darius' shot hits the sergeant in the face, causing burns and deformity.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Seeing Darius aim for the sergeant's head, Janitor whips out his blaster pistol and begins shooting at the Rebel infantry near the group, aiming his shots steadily. (That is, using my True Aim talent and attacking Rebel Infantry Group A)

Blaster Pistol Attack: 4d12 + 1d6 ⇒ (9, 1, 11, 9) + (2) = 32
2 Successes, 4 Advantages
Difficulty: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Threat
TOTAL: 2 Successes, 3 Advantages. I will also spend those Advantages to activate a Critical, assuming that's how it works.

Critical: 1d100 + 20 ⇒ (73) + 20 = 93
At the Brink: Until healed, take 1 Strain every time you take an action.

The trooper unleashes several bolts of energy that blast into the soldiers, catching them in shoulders and guts, making it difficult for them to act. This on top of 10 Damage.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

A note on Criticals. Against minion group crits auto kill a member of the group.

Janitor drops two of the infantry with a swift volley

The Sergeant shakes off the injury and moves to cover Any attacks against him get 2 setback added to the difficulty pool

He then fires a quick volley at Darius. Darius avoids the incoming fire but doing so has left himself open to the minion groups.

Darius:

You notice the dockworkers are inconsequential to the fight. They are as dangerous as the soldiers and will likely stand down if the sergeant and one of the minion groups are defeated.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Two more players may go. Whose going next?

Even as the roof lights up with blaster fire Zaelos sprints to the shuttle, zigzagging as he fires at the remaining Rebel infantry.

2 Maneuvers (move to the shuttle) + Attack (Rebel group A): 2d8 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 2 Success.
Difficulty: 1d8 ⇒ 8 Failure + Threat.
Total 1 Success + 1 Threat. Zaelos takes 1 Strain for his actions.

While his shot hit its mark, his path leaves him exposed to return fire...

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Karval raises an eyebrow at the rebels insukt, "Stunned, hah, if they can do that - I'll be amazed." He says quietly to himself as he barrels next to Zaleos with a sly look to force user. Flowing with extreme grace he moves towards the shuttle and tries to interpose himself between any shots.

In a single motion he draws his blade ready as they get close to the rebels guarding the shuttle.

Both Martian Level 20 invader

Nice narrative flavor Karval. Could you be so kind and sum up your actions. Some of your turn seems inconsistent. You move onto the shuttle, that's two maneuvers, but you also draw your weapons and step in between Zaleos and the enemy which can alse be two maneuvers. Also you didn't take an action unless you are sacrificing it to do your second maneuver for free?
