Janitor winces as Arana narrowly dodges a few attacks. "Arana, get to cover!" he yells, beckoning her. If she comes within reach, he draws his blaster pistol and hands it to her, saying, "Use this, and keep your head down, I don't want to lose any more today."

If he isn't occupied, the trooper continues sighting and firing, relying on his aim and saving multi-fire or autofire for when it might be needed.

"The tribe needs you!" he punctuates his congratulations with a gracefully attack. His weapons glinting in the hallways light.

Advance Team:

Arana disengages from the bridge crew she was fighting and dives into cover beside Janitor. Taking the blaster he offered ,she frowns at its uncomfortable weight in her hands.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Advance Team:

Seeing Arana's frown when she feels the blaster, Janitor decides giving a quick lesson on the weapon might be a good idea. "Crash course on blaster use: hold it as high up on the grip as you can, reduce recoil. Keep your shooting hand's grip tight, your wrist strong, but don't lock your elbow, and support the hand with your other one, like this." Janitor shows a pistol grip on his carbine. "Aim down the sights, keep the front sight centered with the rear, and aim with both eyes open, just under the target. Body shots for better chances of hitting."

The trooper eyes the combat. "If all else fails, just remember to point and shoot. And if someone gets real close, flick that switch above the grip--turns it to multifire, just blast them away."

I don't think that'd actually give a bonus--not expecting it to--but RP!

Advance Team:

Despite the chaos occuring all around them, explosions and blaster fire, screams and shouts, Arana focuses on Janitor's instructions then nods and says "Thank you, I'll try my best!"

She then turns to the battle, kneeling behind a bulkhead for cover and holding the blaster indicated by Janitor fires at the enemy

Advance team:

Janitor drops trooper clean. Zaleos nicks one, and Arana handles her new blaster well and takes down another officer.

The Malaki either shoot of engage foes in melee while the rest continue cover fire.

The battle between the two force users gets more and more violent. The Sith steps back. He then holds his hand out to one of the nearest Malaki. Suddenly bolts of purple lightning lance out from the sith's fingertips and completely coat the defenseless Malaki warrior knocking him back. The Malaki wails in pain but survives the blast. The Malaki's flesh is smoking greatly.

Um...I'm going to speed this up just a tad.

I need three rounds worth of actions from you all.

Zaleos:

The lightning attack from the sith distorts your "vision" for the next round imposing a -2 to your ranged attacks and perception checks.

Rear guard:

You manage to overwhealm the enemy and drive the away. You suffered 7 more Malaki casualties and many of the survivors are pretty hurt.

Do you take a moment to try and recover or do you push on? I.e use medipacks and similar objects. None of which can be done while on the move.

Male Mandolorean Soldier

Rear Guard:
We probably need to take a minute to rest, another fight and I guess the others are done. Karval had 7 Medi-packs & 2 medical kits (to go with his Treat Injury/7) - at least when boarding the vessel. Concur Na'Soth? I know we need to be on the bridge, but....

Or do we push on before more resistance....stopping only when we get to the bridge.

Karval wants to look after his men and women of the tribe.

Rear Guard:
I agree, stopping to patch ourselves is a good idea.

While the others are busy patching themselves up, Na'soth looks through the dead for anything interesting; in particular, he is looking for a comm link from the enemy he could use to listen in on, or potentially hack into, the enemy comm system.

Advance Team:
Zaelos openly flinches as the dark lightning arcs in front of him. Shaking his head slightly, he switches to a single shot for a moment before switching back to multi-fire.

Advance team:

Blaster bolts blaze and dance all over the bridge. It is much like in episode 4 where Luke, Han, and Chewie are in the cell block control room shooting up all the guards and officers. Same foes and about the same level of accuracy :)

While Zaleos is distracted by the display of force, a bolt deals him 9 vitality.

Janitor Who has mad dice skills to boot shoots an officer down, steps up to assist the wounded Malaki warrior. and then pops another trooper wounding the man.

Arana is unable to focus her mind but still manages to score a solid hit besides. Her second shot is a little off. She then redirects her aim to the sith battling Taggard.

You all see Arana fire off a bolt at the sith but he instincely holds out his hand and "blocks" the bolt with his palm. He also seems to retain enough focus to continue to defend himself against Taggard.

The two men are battling fiercely striking and blocking and blocking and striking back and forth they go in an impressive display.

The battle for the bridge is going okay. Your numbers are still fewer and the sith is holding his own. However, you are steadily evening the odds.

Another three rounds of actions should clear the bridge of defenders.

Go ahead.

Rear Guard:

Hacking the enemies comms is quite possible. You find the right comm in the trooper captain's helmet. I'm going to assume you can hack it. Easily done by taking ten and at the moment there are no distractions.

If you wish, you can collect blasters, cell packs, and frag grenades from the fallen troopers also. There are plenty.

The Malaki set about patching their burns and other injuries with med packs.

Na'Soth on the Comm:

You are able to tap the comms. you hear the following. The following is accompanied by blaster fire in the background. "This is destroyer captain Pallite. Where are you! We need all remaining troopers too the bridge. Somehow the primitives got onto the ship and have made it too the bridge! We are taking heavy casualties! Get your $#@es up Here NOW!"

Another voice comes in. "This is TI 2100. We are almost to the bridge. I have about thirty men with me, have the doors open for us."

The captain's voice pipes in. "The door controls are blocked by the enemy and I can't reach them! Your going to have to blow the lock to get in."

The trooper calls pack. "We have an override kit. We'll get it open but it will take some time, just hold out a little longer."

The Captain responds back. "Well hurry up! Our men are dropping like flies. Kiev is holding off the Jedi but he can't protect the rest of us from the other Malaki!"

The trooper calls back. "we've reached the bridge doors. We will be in soon."

Advance Team:

Should've clarified--last round's first attack was supposed to be at the Malakai Sith. But I'm cool with taking out an officer :)

Confident that the Malakai will survive, Janitor frowns as Arana's bolt is easily blocked, for lack of a better word, by the enemy Malakai. You can't block a blaster bolt with your palm--it just can't be done! Everything Janitor knows about combat screams out against what he just witnessed, but the trooper blinks it away, preferring that his knowledge is incomplete to the possibility that his eyes are deceiving him in this important battle.

Sighting along his carbine, the trooper fires several times more, controlling some burst fire to end this conflict.

The sith Malaki dances around Taggard struggling a bit to do so. He then steps back and glaces square at Arana. The sith extends his hand at Arana and deadly bolts of dark force lighting lance out at her.

Arana, you take 15 vitality in energy damage, you can make a DC 20 Reflex save for half.

The attackers don't make as much progress as you would have liked and suffer more injuries and casualties.

Taggard and the Sith battle on and Janitor takes 12 vitality from the fire fighting.

Rear Guard:

You gather what you can, drop a few grenades down the stair well, and head to the bridge.

You reach the bridge in a matter of seconds. When you arrive, there are about thirty stormtroopers at the the door. They haven't got it open yet. Some of them seem ready for and begin shooting as soon as they see you.

A bolt catches Karval for 8 vitality.

Suddenly, Janitor finds himself in what appears to be another losing fight. Malakai are dropping, more Imperials may be arriving at any moment, the dark Force-user is not only holding off against Taggard but also attacking Arana... and Janitor has two people to try and defend, even as he has a close shave with a blaster bolt. I swear, if we make it out of this, I'm cleaning this armor... or getting new.

Making a judgment call as he sees Arana stumble to the floor, the trooper moves to her side and stands above her. "You may want to keep your head down, girl--I've got you covered for now," he says, flicking the switch on his carbine once more. "And it's about to get exciting up here."

I'm going to toss this one up for the advance team to help them catch up to the rear guard a bit. Timing is off here and there but I'm making it work so bear with me.

Advance team only post:

Zaleos gets up and bolts for the door. Another Malaki tries to cover him but falls. Zaleos does his best to override the locking mechanism. It's easier on this end but both attempts fail all the same.

After a volley of shots and all misses, Janitor's one shot proves effective as he puts down another officer.

After struggling against her grievous wounds, Arana too manages to focus some fire on one of the officers and puts him down as well.

The numbers are even now. Six versus Six.

On your side you have Zaleos, Janitor, Arana, Taggard, and Two remaining Malaki. On the enemies side, One officer, four more naval troopers, and the sith.

The troopers are harder to hit than the officers.

Taggard is making progress against the Sith Bringing Taggard here was one of those critical decisions. If you had left him with Na'Soth, you all on the bridge would be dead. Taggard shows signs of great prowess as he kicks the sith warrior back and begins to push him to the viewport. The two are fighting hard on the observation deck now.

It is now the rest of your turns. I'm going to do this turn by turn now. So give me your next turn.

Not long after you subdue the remaining defenders, An impressive show of skill, Taggard finally dispatches the dark force users. The sith's body falls limp onto the observation deck. Red lightning energy is dancing all over the body.

Those of you who are force sensitive can feel the dark force energy unbound wildly consuming the body.

The sith's body seems to be decaying slowly into a bubbly puddle of dark energy. A gross sight to be sure and the energy it emits leaves you all feeling more than a bit uncomfortable for a few seconds.

The bridge is taken for now. There are a few imperial officer pilots that still live but with Taggard standing victorious over their monster leader, they quickly surrender.

You have two wounded Malaki still with you. There are seven members of the imperial bridge crew who did not attempt to fight you and have surrendered now.

You have about thirty imperial stormtroopers on the other side of the bridge door hacking their way through with little trouble. They have not got in yet but it won't be long before they do.

What do you do?

Rear Guard:

Na'Soth has poor aim with the grenade and it almost hit's the party instead of the enemy.

Thankfully it doesn't but now the soldiers are firing at you guys heavily.

They outnumber you almost 2 to 1.

Only a few stormtroopers drop to the Malaki's fire and a few more Malaki go down as well.

You have the benefit of a corner for cover but nothing more.

Give me another round.

Advance Team:

"Get those officers rounded up, all together!" Janitor calls, moving forward himself. He grabs one officer by the collar. "Name, rank, and number, imp," he growls, swinging his carbine to his back and drawing his slugthrower, shoving the cold metal into the officer's gut. "And then you're gonna tell your friends out there to leave us alone. Or have you recently wondered what hot lead in your stomach feels like?"

Intimidate: 1d20 ⇒ 9

The dark trooper then directs the remaining imperials into something between a line and a half-circle, with the members of the team behind them, all facing the door. "Get a weapon on each of their heads," Janitor says, still maintaining a hold on his officer, the pistol against his temple. "This has officially become a hostage situation."

Been on them before... Never thought I'd be on this side, though, the trooper reflects, wracking his brain, hoping this will work...

Primarily hoping to find out about the troopers, how loyal they are to officers, how likely they are to fire on enemies who have their officers hostage, that sort of thing.

Advance Team:
Zaelos nods in approval at the group's efficiency although seeing all the Malaki bodies gives him pause. I don't know if he have enough bodies to pilot this Destroyer. I hope Karval's group shows up soon...

He decides to help Janitor out. Walking in front of the officer, he adds quietly, "Just remember we are willing to DIE for out beliefs. Are you willing to die for yours?"

Uh... maybe Zaleos's check would serve better as a stand-alone, rather than an Aid Another... I really need to up my Intimidate next level...

Rear Guard:
Karval growls his frustration at the storm-troopers, though they outnumber his team Karval hopes to buy his friends some time that it'll be enough. In the back of his mind he knows that his Malakai were dead men walking as soon as they got cut off. Only his and Na'Soth's determination has enabled them to survive.

His shots are practised and determined as he tries to help his group.

Na'soth grimaces, but has no choice but to keep on fighting. He pulls out another grenade and hopes this one will hit it's target in the middle of the pack of foes.

After lobbing it, "Karval, we may as well charge; nothing is going to be gained by a prolonged firefight, and we need to disrupt their opening that door."

Advance Team:

The officer spits at you. "We cannot do any such thing. Only the ships captain can and you blew him up with that last explosion. Without an all clear from the captain, you cannot hope to convince those men to leave."

There you have it. The Malaki are guarding the men. Taggard looks at you. "Were here, now what? I have slain the accursed traitor but it seems we are stuck." He seems very concerned.

Rear Guard:

A hail of fire storm blasts your way as the stormtroopers seem to be holding strong.

The blast from the grend knocks a few back but none quite fall from it.

Karval is able to drop two more of them.

The Malaki are shooting and holding out as best they can. Only the warriors are up front. The pilot trained are holding back to avoid getting shot at.

Whats the call folks?

Rear Guard:
"True, Na'Soth. Can you and these men give covering fire? I'll lead the charge." Karval draws his well used vibroblades as he charges from cover.

A hail of fire from the support team, bolsters hois morale as he charges straight towards a bunch of troopers. Ducking and weaving as he tries to avoid the worst of the fire.

Advance team:

Extremely weary , Arana listens to the dogged response of the office with a sense of hopelessness, but at the mention of the captain an idea comes to her.

Rummaging through her pack she retrieves one of her portable bacta tanks. Spraying it all over her injuries; purple lesions from the force lightning mainly, she releases a sigh as the pain recedes and energy flows back into her body.

Wounds recovered 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Vitality recovered 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (2, 5) + 4 = 11

Mind clearer and body free of pain, Arana grabs the defiant officer and pulls him to over to where he indicated the captain died. " which one is the captain?" She looks to the others for confirmation.

Advance Team:
Zaelos eyes the corpses and silently points out the dead form of the captain. He then whispers in her ear, "What do you have in mind?"

Advance Team:

Suddenly the trooper takes off his helmet and grunts, frowning. "Dang, I forgot--these aren't rebels or guerrilla groups, this is the actual Empire here. They don't negotiate hostages--those troopers would sooner come in here blasting and shoot down these men than talk with us. And these men"--he gestures with the pistol to the assembled officers--"would sooner get shot than deal with us themselves. Our best bet now..." he looks around, points to the door. "A few grenades could rig an explosion, blow our opposition away, but it might also collapse that doorway, cutting off the rear guard."

With a sigh, Janitor runs one gloved hand across his head, brushing the short, but not-quite-military-short, hair backward. "IF they don't get in here--which it's looking like they will--but if they don't, they'd probably move to the reactor core and overload it, blow the ship. Maybe we should give up on this objective and move there."

Advance Team:

Turning to Zaelos, Arana says with a mischevious smile "I'm going to play a trick...." but when Janitor reveals the mettle of the imperial troops she looks more doubtful.

"I was going to try to create an illusion of the captain on the holo, telling the others to standdown, that we'd taken the bridge and the fight was over. But from what you said, that doesn't sound like it would work."

Rear Guard:
Na'soth tries to provide the melee group some cover fire as he contacts the group on the bridge to get an update.

attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
damage 4d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 2) + 1 = 14

comm to bridge group:
"What's your status? We're outside the bridge and facing stiff resistance. Any help you can provide out here would be massively appreciated."

Comm to Rear Guard:
Zaelos's voice crackles over the secure channel. "We have captured the bridge but suffered heavy casualties. We cannot pilot the ship currently."

Advance Group:
Zaelos turns to the others, "Seeing the cavalry is here now we should go to greet them, don't you think?" He then moves to the bridge door controls, awaiting the others to acknowledge their readiness before opening them.

Advance Team:

Janitor grins as the comms from the rear guard crackles through. He nods to Zaleos, smacks the cheeky officer upside the head with his pistol, and moves to the door, replacing the slugthrower on his hip and hefting his carbine, replacing his helmet as the final readying. "Good to go," he says, then opens up the comms.

Attack if necessary: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Pistol Whip damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Comms to Rear Group:

"Good to hear from you! As Zaleos said, we can't pilot the ship with our current numbers, but we can certainly help you lot."

Advance Team:

I'm ready !!" Arana says , ducking behind a console for cover.

Male Azlanti Human Mercenary Soldier 6 | HP 46/46, SP 66/66 | EAC 23, KAC 26 | Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +7 | Init +11, Perception +2

Advance Team:

"Hold on!" Janitor says suddenly, as if just noticing something. "Anyone have grenades?" Pulling all the grenades he has himself, Janitor sets about rigging a simple trap by the door, motioning for the other members of the group to stand back. "If this works," he says just loud enough for his companions to hear, "this should blow about half the enemy who walks through this door."

Demolitions: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12 Hehe... hope they don't go off in his face.

After setting the grenades in place, Janitor moves to some cover, and, just in case, sights one of the grenades with his carbine, ready to fire at it if troopers come in and the trap doesn't go off as planned.
