Xanos kills the guard outright.
Vank stabs one of the guards, but the man does not fall, while Albrekt's weapon skitters along the other man's armor, dealing no damage/ Both men, silently, scream bloody murder and attack.
Vs Vank: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage?: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Vs Albrekt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Everyone can act. How many rounds left on the silence spell?

Vank Stormfist |

Vank curses, also silently, and swings at the same guard.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 26 Blood of heroes, Power attack
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 1 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 21 +1 weapon, Blood of heroes, Power attack
Assuming his guard falls Vank move to flank the second guard with Alberkt
HP=36/48
Silence 2 rounds remaining
Blood of heroes expires at beginning of Vank's next action
Ancestral Weapon 8 rounds remaining

GM Fanguar |

Haruk's spell drops the wounded guard and injures the other, setting him up to be spitted by Vank. Both guards are down, bleeding out onto the cold stones of the keep.
Fort save DC16: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Xanos manages to miss every major vein and artery in the man's throat.
You can just RP his end or let Albrekt eat, or what have you.
Quickly, silently and without remorse, you've dispatched the men guarding the wizard's and the commander's quarters.

Vank Stormfist |

Vank works around the feeding vampire to remove a piece of guard's armour and carves a picture of a fist holds lightning bold into the man's flesh.
Having finished he moves back down to the mage's level. After casting detect magic he checks out mage's door for an alarm spell or any other magic. Assuming he finds nothing he'll motion to Keynan "Do think you can get past this lock? Or are we going to do this in a more direct method? "

GM Fanguar |

Sorry for the delay, been a busy week.
Kaynen fiddles with the lock and the door to the Magister's room opens.
Perc: 1d20 + 1 - 10 ⇒ (15) + 1 - 10 = 6 The sounds of a man snoring lightly can be heard coming from a bed. Another door connects this room to the workshop next door.
*Sigh* A wizard without spells prepped isn't much of a challenge. He has 56 hp, coup-de-grace away.

Vank Stormfist |

Vank glances in with his detect magic still active. Then pulling his spear out he sneaks in. When he get close he jumps up and stabs down through the wizard's chest with all his weight.
Coup de grace damage: 3d8 + 18 ⇒ (8, 5, 5) + 18 = 36

Kaynen Catesby |

Kaynen winces, equal parts at Albrek's red grin and the sudden silence as the wizard's throat is slashed while he sleeps... the bard-alchemist clearly preferring the sounds of screams of burning victims to the silence that follows.

Xanos |

Xanos barely waited for Vank's strike before pressuring the Mage's room.
Detect Magic, opening everything that can be opened.

Couldn't make the fort save if he wanted to.
The coppery tang of blood fills the air.
Xanos uses his magical sight to identify everything of potential value. You also find a key that opens the door to the laboratory next door and a small chest that is under the blood soaked bed.
#Lootz: Wand of fireball (7 charges), scroll of dispel magic, 500gp worth of diamond dust (reagent for stone skin x2) cloak of resistance +1. Spellbook (see spoiler). 120gp. Cauldron of brewing (in lab)
The laboratory next door is full of tables laden with strange equipment and apparatuses. A large, crude man-shaped statue of ice stands in one corner It's an ice golem, but it isn't instructed to do anything and no you can't steal it for yourselves.
The only place left is the commander's quarters
4: fire shield, ice storm, stoneskin, wall of fire
3: dispel magic, flaming arrow, fireball, fly
2: bull's strength, burning gaze, flaming sphere, protection from arrows, pyrotechnics, scorching ray, web
1: burning hands, dancing lantern, expeditious retreat, mage armour, magic missile, sleep
0: all

Vank Stormfist |

Vank nods "Fine with me, when we have dealt with the commander we should work out a fair way to share out the loot." He glances at Kaynen and Albrekt "Did you have a method before our master sent us to help?"
"Right now lets grab it, use what you can and lets deal with the commander before we run into any troubles. Kaynen same again? you have a go at it and if that doesn't work I'll silence while we chop down the door." Vank says moving back out of the wizard's chambers and up to the commander's level.

Xanos |

"A moment Vank, we are not quite finished here."
Xanos passed the wand to Haruk as well as the scroll of Dispel Magic. The tall necromancer took the spell book for himself.
"To your question, spoils go first to those who need them most. This Knot is only as strong as our weakest member. We cover our weaknesses. Anything that is not obvious, we can simply argue over or sell to divide the money."
"For example, while anyone could make use of the cloak, it should go to the most frail of us. Normally that would be me. However, Vank and Albrekt are far more likely to encounter effects the cloak would help protect against. Albrekt is now largely immune to many of those effects, so in my opinion the cloak would be best used by Vank."
My saves are the worst by far, but I think the cloak should go to Vank. Frontliners tend to make more saves.
I'm taking the spellbook. Kaynen, any of the spells that an Alchemist can use also we can share later.

As The Knot move swiftly and nearly quietly - save for Albrekt's heavy breathing, Kaynen kneels before the last door.
Is it for dramatic effect? Did he even need to breath?
Sucking in his own breath, Kaynen set to work on the final lock, hoping to ply its secrets as easily as the young ladies that he "studied" just a year ago before recent events began to unfold.

Xanos |

The vampyr balefully gazes at the frozen construct;
"Minn powers vil haben little evect on Der Golem... Perhapz der vand of Feuerbälle?"
The undead warrior looks to Faruk expectantly
"Fireballs are not quiet. Can you lift it?" Xanos asked with a speculative look on his face.
How much does it weigh?

Vank Stormfist |

"You're in an alchemy lab surely a non magical fire won't be too difficult. However it isn't a rush let's head upstairs and deal with the commander before our elf friend gets into trouble." Bank says before heading upstairs.

Xanos |

"A practical idea. You are right though. It is not pressing. If we are going to be lighting fires, it should be as we are leaving. Smoke tends to draw attention."
Xanos left the golem where it was and followed the Hobgoblin.

You break into the Lord commander's bedroom. The whole room is suffused with a pale golden light. The man himself is kneeling at prayer beside his bed. His nightshirt pokes out from his hastily donned armour. He looks towards you, his eyes blazing, grey beard bristling. He rises slowly to his feet.
"My visions spoke true. Foul interlopers defile the sanctity of this place. In Mitra's name I will smite you back to the pit."

Vank Stormfist |

No problem, I like the comment from the commander letting us know that the gods are taking notice. Even if we had time outside the door to cars buff spells Vank is getting a little too full of himself and expects the commander to be asleep so won't cast anything. However I forgot to mention healing myself after the guard fight, if you are alright I will cast a CLW

Outside of the Lord Commander's room, Kaynen stifled a yawn. Everything had gone so easily, he had almost felt as if everything up to this point was merely a dream - or a ride in a riverboat where he was nodding off on a deck chair.
As the Lord Commander called out a threat in Mitra's name, Kaynen's pulse raced as he "woke" from whatever daze he labored in.
[b]"Oh! I know just the tune!"[b]
The bard quickly began a somewhat vulgar rhyme, inserting Mitra in as the subject of all the mishaps and misteps.
Inspire courage. +1/+1.

You missed the bit about if you end you tern next to it you must make a reflex save or fall in as well ('you do get +2). I'm fairly certain you can't make a move action to move and a 5 foot step. Kaynan can probably lobe bombs in safely but the rest of us will need to risk falling if we are going to do much (now if we had a flying archer...).

Ouch. Our Vampanzer will most likely be falling in! DC20 Reflex save... Hey-Ho.
DC20 Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10 Case in point...

Kaynen Catesby |

Usually the way I've seen pits like this run. If you are at the very edge, you can fire in without any penalty but you risk falling in.
If you back off a few feet (to be outside of the slip zone), then the edge of the pit grants cover (aka +4AC) to its occupants.
I defer to GMF to adjudicate here... we're also mapless so I'd imagine some more liberties in interpreting rules here.

GM Fanguar |

I'm going to rule that anyone one approaching the lip of the would know that there is a chance of fall in. I think it is reasonable that Kaynen could just lob bombs into the pit from a safe distance, but anything else needs direct line of sight to be successful. Albrekt would know the risk, and I am fine with him re-conning his action. On the other hand, he can't really die anymore, so it might be beneficial for him to actually fall in on purpose. His call.
As for the boss, he might survive the duration of the spell, with his healing, but who knows.

GM Fanguar |

@Albrekt: If you throw it will hit and you can kamikaze in. Taking the appropriate fall damage. Barring wooden stakes, decapitation and garlic you will recover.
For the sake of progression, I'm going to assume that Albrekt just dive bombs in there.
