Pedro Coelho RPG Superstar 2013 Top 4 |
Hello all! Just checking in. Glad to have made it, competition was tough, and this group seems really interesting.
I'm Pedro, from São Paulo, Brazil (GMT-3), and my character is Doreen Makgree. I work mainly as a motion graphics designer and coordinator for live-air content in a TV broadcaster. I've played a little RPG as a kid during the 90s, first with the Dragon Quest box and a few other games like Werewolf: the Apocalypse and Gurps (once). Got back to RPG during college, right when D&D 3rd edition was being released. Surprisingly, met a group of friends who also was into RPG and we've been gaming ever since between one beer and another.
We have a homebrew Pathfinder campaign that's been going for about 3 years in which I'm the GM, and we also have a sort-of-regular Mage: the Awakening game with another GM. Sometimes we do one-shots and then I get a chance to play Pathfinder, too.
This year has been really slow for us, with work and all, so I started looking into PbP here in the Paizo message boards. I'm currently also playing a Kingmaker PbP, but it's still in its very early stages, so I can say I'm kind of new to this gaming style. I do check the message boards regularly, though it's a little harder during weekends.
Currently reading Moby Dick and into the whole nautical theme. And pirates are always fun. ;)

Hello Pedro!! Let's see, if we're talking about ourselves...
My name's Tony. I work Quality Control for a Plasmapheresis Donation Center in the US. I started RPGs the first time in 1990, then quit for a few years after getting the DnD is evil spiel from my father, picking it back up around 1995ish. I started with 2nd edition, have played 2nd, 3rd, 3.5, fourth and of course Pathfinder. I've done some of the White Wolf stuff, as well as Alternity, BESM, GURPs, a great Rifts campaign, and some more I can't remember off the top of my head.
My group from the '90s is still kinda together, we swap out people every now and then but it's the same group. We do alot of alternating of campaigns.
Besides that I'm pretty much a boring person, lol. Pleasure to be crewmates with ya!

OK, Time to jump into the Wayback machine.
I started playing D&D off and on with the beginner's box set back in '76-'77, then picked it back up in 1980 in high school with AD&D then on to 2nd edition and then 3.0 and 3.5 and finally to Pathfinder. I GM a RL Kingmaker campaign on Monday nights, with three of my friends from H.S. and a few other friends.
I work for American airlines where I've been employed since 1985 (so my job is not in jeopardy regardless of the bankruptcy outcome). I'm married with a beautiful six year old daughter and weekends are generally family time, so don't expect me to post much on Saturday and Sunday.
I generally post from work when I have the time between 0700-1500 CST and then again after my daughter has gone to bed, usually around 2100-2200 CST.

Morgan, go ahead and purchase your equipment. There will opportunities to get it back throughout the adventure, otherwise you'll be stuck with whatever you can find/scrounge.
Morgan Allegretti |
Will do.
Since we're talking about ourselves: I started playing D&D in 2007 with 3.5, moved to 4E when it came out, and then switched to Pathfinder during its open beta.
I've DMed several campaigns since then, and I'm currently in a Carrion Crown campaign as a player. My job as a technical developer in DFW gives a good deal of spare time though, so I've joined two PbPs (this makes number 2). I have a decent amount of spare time at my job, so I'll be checking decently often.
Geoffrey Whittaker |
Geoffrey 'Jack' Whittaker, reporting to the lido deck, as requested ;-)
His player, on the other hand, first turned his hand to RPGs in the early 90's, when he discovered AD&D. He lost his way in the late 90's, but picked-up 3.5 in the early 00's, becoming heavily involved in Living Greyhawk and Living Arcanis. He tried his hand at LFR, but migrated across to Pathfinder and PFS when that became available, and has not looked back since :-)
I have also played a bit of Call of Chthulhu, as well as Pendragon, but I trust that you will not hold that against me ;-)
I discovered the PbP Paizo boards several years ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunities for play that have opened-up since :-D
I am a Doctor working in Sydney, Australia, so my most prolific posting times will be approximately 12 hours out of synch with most of the US-based players, but I am a reliable poster...
...hopefully, this little cruise will be a long, entertaining, and fruitful one :-)

I haven't heard from Nark's player so I'm moving on to an alternate, Soggy, the Gnome Druid. As soon as he checks in I'll post the opening scene.
Sgt. Scar |
Soggy here. Looking forward to a fun game. A bit about myself. I'm 31 year old currently trying to find something that might simulate a permanent job. I discovered roleplaying games in college and have been enjoying them ever since. I currently run a few games of my own so I'm not going to be disappearing any time soon.

I would consider it like Switzerland, where some areas speak Orisani and others speak Kelish. Dwarven would only be spoken in/around Dongun Hold. Given that your father was Kelish, I would say that that would be the appropriate language for your area.
GM Wulfson |
Yes, everything is fine, just had a busy day at work yesterday. You're next in line to get updated.
Let me explain. I do about 90% of my posting at work during my downtime. Recently my schedule at work changed and I went from having about 2 hours of almost guaranteed free time to not knowing what/where my workday will be like until I show up in the morning. Most of the time I can finagle enough time to write up a post (or four in this case) but other times I barely have enough time to grab lunch for myself. this makes my posting somewhat sporadic in nature. Most of the time I can post at least once a day, but sometimes that my fall off to once every other day. When I get the time to post I usually sit down and go down my list of PbP's and update them in order of appearance, which means that sometimes you'll be the first to update and sometimes you'll be last.
Don't worry, if for some reason I can't continue I will let you know and attempt to find a replacement GM for the group before that happens.
