Taize smiles at the enthusiastic young elf. "Quite possible. Some people react differently to drugs due to some personal sensitivity. I hope you're OK now."

Island Elf(link) HP 20;56;Fort+6;Ref+11;Will+4;Perc+9; Init+4;AC17(19)Defensive:21

Sunny grins and nods, her shaking head seeming to go so far as make her whole body bounce up and down.

Oh aye! I thought it were maybe some prawns or th' like." She giggles, "Them lil' buggers be th' dickens' t' keep right, they's all-a-ways best fresh from'a ocean, y'know." (^_~)

"Much bamboozled I am fer th' crew's current course o' fillin' hammocks." Sunny shakes her head, blond locks flicking.

"Me kin, we do things...different...When we want more bods on'a boat." And she shrugs, the action graphically seeming spread since she seems almost to use her whole, lithe, brown body.

"T'will be a learnin' experience workin' along-sides all'a folks here abouts." And Sunny looks thoughtfully at the rest of the people sharing the crew place around them.

Male Half-Elf Magus 1

Waking up from a daze Jensen starts thinking about what his next action should be. Well as long as I'm stuck on this poorly built rig, with some damn crazy men who find enjoyment out of killin a man, I should probably look at finding some people to watch my back. Tai seems to be pretty genuine so hopefully she doesn't get herself keelhauled. That was a nasty sort. At some point I need to find my cutlass because I am getting a bad feeling about some of the crew.

Jensen looks around at the people surrounding him. He will pick a man out and approach him. "Hey you, whats your name? Been here long?"

Night time action Influence NPC Jack Scrimshaw if I can find him.

Island Elf(link) HP 20;56;Fort+6;Ref+11;Will+4;Perc+9; Init+4;AC17(19)Defensive:21

Sunny nods, returning 'Tais' smile as she settles next to the woman,

"So then. Where is ye be hailin' from?' The blond Elf asks, leaning closer,

"An', whut would ye be meanin' by th' 'Learning arraignment'?" She in a quieter voice.

Female Samsaran Divine Channeler 1; AC 11/T 10/FF 11; HP 9/9; F +2/R +0/W +5; Init +0; Per +5

"My people are most often from Tian Xia. I'm not sure why this incarnation has begun here. Probably it has something to do with our recuitment. While my people prefer peace and serenity and allowing others to work out their own fates, there are times when actions are necessary. Perhaps fate intends for the leaders of this ship to learn to respect others at least as much as they respect themselves. I was guided to that tavern."

Her voice drops to a whisper. "If my task in this life is to make certain that specific sentients meet their true fates, so be it."

Island Elf(link) HP 20;56;Fort+6;Ref+11;Will+4;Perc+9; Init+4;AC17(19)Defensive:21

Sunny frowns a little at Tia's words/explanation.

"Gee.....I c'n see we's lots t' talk about just t'get in't th' basics of where we's both come from." She sighs,

"So...you be a,long way from home as well, then?" She asks simply and directly, looking perhaps to get a base line from which to draw. (^_^)

"Also, whut d'ye think o' some of t'others on th' boat? That big, dusky feller, he in't so talkative...Is he?" Sunny indicates the big Rahadoumi fellow where he sits amongst the crew, with a tilt of her head.

Least, I think I gots me people right...

Later that night, Sharice walks out onto the deck, taking care to be obvious and unthreatening to whoever is on night watch. "Had trouble sleeping," she offers by way of explanation, then stands by the railing to look up at the stars and breathes deeply.

"It's good to be out at sea again," she muses, then smiles wrily at the guard. "I'd have preferred to have had a little more choice in the matter, but you can't have everything, I guess... I'm Sharice, by the way. How long have you been aboard?"

"A long way from home. Yes, and no. It's difficult to explain to those who know nothing of my race. We are reborn repeatedly. When we die, unless we've found perfect balance" she smiles ironicly "or messed up badly, we are reborn, in a new body, with only a few memories of our previous lives. I awoke on a beach, amid the ruins of a wrecked ship and the bodis of slaughtered innocents, clutching a guide. That pendant I had. It led me to the Formidibly Maid. Then to here, it would seem.

"I'm not sure just what it means, but all of you who were caught with me and, I suspect, the unplesant folks running this ship are involved. I just don't know how yet."

Sunny listens to Taize's tale with interest, even slowly leaning forwards as the other woman talks so intense seems her concentration.

"Woah..." Is all the blond Elf says after a moment of seeming amazed silence.

"Geeze...an' her I be jus' thinkin' it were all'a..um...co-ink'e-dink...or somat..." She continues to goggle at Taize.

"Maaaaan....I never be thinkin' there wus such significance in'a bad prawn..." She murmurers, still in amazement, then she frowns.

gm 3

Okay, before everyone jumps on this: It is DAC, your regular GM. I am just... physically indisposed to use my own computer by about 20 miles, so I am borrowing Wu's to end the looooong delay that was FURTHER extended by my stupid (and now thankfully) former roomates. Anyways on to the semi-massive update. So in no particular order...

Kestryl 1

Spoiler:
You attempt to go to the quartermaster's store, but find it locked. You try the lock several times, but its high quality sees that you have almost no chance of success. You hear a group come up behind you, and they begin a game of dice in front of the door, so any more chances to return are unlikely. At least they were drunk enough so they didn't notice you.

Lucia 1
Although the pirates are not the biggest fans of Chelish Opera, the quality of your performance manages to impress them. You get some tepid, drunk applause at the end, but overall everyone seems pleased with the performance.
Gain +2 to charisma-based checks for the next 24 hours, by the way. This will effect tomorrow for your nighttime ship action, but not after that.
EDIT: Cut-Throat Grok especially enjoyed the performance, and clapped heartily (if drunkenly), Bravo'ing loudly and violently, before being distracted by the strange-colored elixer in her glass and covering her chin.

Sunny
Looking for the friendliest crew member aboard, you spot the beautiful, social Sandra Quinn (one of the new sailors recently press-ganged aboard). She sees your cheery demeanor, getting a quizzical look for half a second, then returns a smile, and tips her hat at you. Moving closer, she says, "Hello there, Aren't you cheery. I'm Sandra Quinn, pleased to meet you."
The diplo check got you her to friendly on the track, so good job; We can do the conversation at our leisure now.

Taize
Tilly, having just rubbed her back, glares, growling out "I doan' need yer help, don't get any ideas about that. I'm no weaklin, I can take far more a lash than that. Heck, I might be able to get through what Jakes did without comin' out dead on the other side. Get to know who you're talking to before ya approach them, ya hear?"

[ooc]Okay, looks like I've ran into dinner time; I'll just leave this here for the effected parties and get you the rest of the information afterwards. --DAC

Female Samsaran Divine Channeler 1; AC 11/T 10/FF 11; HP 9/9; F +2/R +0/W +5; Init +0; Per +5

Taize sighs. "I appologize. I did not mean to offend or to imply any weakness on your part."

Dialogue/Response:
Looking for the friendliest crew member aboard, you spot a beautiful, social looking (One of the new sailors recently press-ganged aboard). She sees your cheery demeanor, getting Suny a quizzical look for half a second, then returns a smile, and tips her hat at you. Moving closer, she says,

"Hello there, Aren't you cheery. I'm Sandra Quinn, pleased to meet you."

Suny's demeanor changes not a whit as she smiles and replies in kind,

"Rilly? Gee...I'm jus' bein' usual, y'know? You should see me in'a party..." And Suny laughs as she remembers some of her previous 'Good times'. Then she settles.

"M'name be 'Suny' in'a talkin' of yer folks. Least ways, that's th' best it comes across, like. Nice t'is t'meet cha, Miss Quinn." And Suny proffers a hand forwards in greeting/friendship(?)

Lucia, please choose someone to influence, otherwise in my next update I'll do so randomly. Also if everyone's ok with it I will move on to tomorrow; I need to return the computer to Wu right now. --DAC

EDIT:

Brendan
The dirty spots are legion; however, you see illuminated by candlelight not one, but TWO mops! How great a day indeed this is!

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

Actually, I did choose to influence Maheem, even if THAT awful roll is doomed to fail...

If only I had a decent set of tools, then I'd show them what's what. But... you don't put a lock that good on nothin'. I bet there's good stuff in there, mine or somebody else's. There's more 'n one way to fleece a Cheliaxian. Mebbe I can swipe the key... Or talk the Quartermaster inta letting me take a peek. Which one was the quartermaster again? The half-orc chick? Great! Hopefully this man knows a little something about the goings on about the ship. I could really use some insight... and my damn book and pouch back. Looking a little irritated Jensen waits for Jack to respond.

Not quite hat bad. ;) Tai has a 'birthmark' on the palm of her left hand that resembles Gozreh's holy symbol and serves as one for her. (See the 'Birthmark' trait.)

Island Elf(link) HP 20;56;Fort+6;Ref+11;Will+4;Perc+9; Init+4;AC17(19)Defensive:21

Oh, aye. I done seen that trait. Thogh, truth be known, I thought ye'd have it in'a more interestin' place, y'know? Like around yer belly button or somat.

Squee! Then ye could use yer Cleric-y powers while ye fascinated 'em with yer dancin'! (^_^)

Lucia

You catch the tall, scowling Rhadhoumi man just as he is retiring to his bunk. He shoots a glare at whoever would disturb him, but it softens when he sees it was Lucia. "Ah, the talented singer!" He says, disforming his scowl into what you think was supposed to be a smile, "Lucky you got caught up with us, and not some of my past associates, for your beautiful voice and even more beautiful body would fetch a high price in my homeland. What brings you to me before I retire this evening?" He finishes, his disformed grin growing all the wider.

Lucia, though you did technically fail, if you RP this right I'll give you enough retroactive bonuses to succeed.

Sharice

You have stumbled upon "Ratline" Rattsburger, a rather short halfling crew member with a face reminscent of a rat's. He is oblivious as to how to respond for a while, and waits a while before speaking.

When he does find the words to say, they squeakily come out. "I... I'm, well, Everyone calls me Ratline, so I guess you can call me that, too. An, um..... I dunno anymore, really; after a few months I kinda forgot about all that........ sorry for bein' a bit quiet, people usually don't turn to me to be all talky too often. Nice ta meet ya though. An.... thanks for th' company, it gets late out at night, and despite my appearance I'm not too nocterminal." He seems to be smiling slightly, and a bit animated at getting to say something and have someone actually listen to him.

And your first friend aboard the Wormwood's crew from the mass of not-so-friendlies, huzzah!

Female Half-elf Urban Barbarian 1 / AC 15, touch 13, flat-footed 12 / hp 14 / Fort +4, Ref +3, Will +1 / Perception +8

Sharice smiles back at Ratline. "Likewise," she replies, then leans on the railing to look out over the sea "I don't actually mind the dark much... And at least it's quiet."

After a few more minutes of quiet talk and companionable silence, she yawns -- not entirely faked, either. "... But I'm not on night watch, and I don't think I'll be cut any slack tomorrow no matter how tired I look, so I'd better try and get some sleep... Good night; it was nice to meet you."

Female Human Bard (Court Bard)

Night 1

Might not have had the best timing, Lucia reflects to herself. Think. I ask him about music and he goes straight for... It doesn't take her more than half a moment to get that far in her thoughts before she changes course. "I think they might not have found me quite as easy a mark as that." She intentionally keeps her voice light, however, with just the slightest suggestion that they might have had a chance to tame her anyway. A moment bought with her response while waiting for the reply, she resumes her analysis of the response.

This one's not seeing himself a swab his whole life. Not a free captain in the making, but a quick and comfortable retirement or a low officer's position. Giving him the latter is out of the question, but if I can lead him around to thinking we're a better chance at the former....long term project, just keep him talking tonight. she finally decides.

Day 2

Sharice

Spoiler:

Despite your deep sleep for staying up so late, you're shaken awake while all the rest of the crew is still asleep in their bunks. Looking up you see Ratline. "Shhhh, don't say anything yet," he says, "But don't stick around too long, something's up; I'd get out onto deck before too long, and with some sort of weapon or something if you can. If you need one... I have an extra shortsword, its right about the size for you to use as a dagger, if you need it. Anyways, can't stay long, have to get back to my post." With that he abruptly, but silently, scurries off.

So for the next paragraph, feel free to put yourself effectively anywhere, since you were already prepared.

Lucia
Night 1
"Ah, I do believe you do not know the lengths some of my former associates would go to so as to get such a valuable prize as you. Sadly... some of their methods tends to damage the cargo, which... to make a long story short, is why they are my former associates. However...." He says, moving somewhat closer, "If given the chance... I would never damage such precious cargo as yours." His scowl gains a smirklike quality; this is somehow both natural to his face and highly disturbing.

Day 1
You got little rest last night after attempting to talk to Maheem has exhausted your stamina, and so you sleep in even after the wake-up call.

Everyone, save Lucia

You all are awoken with a loud clatter of pans, and instructed to wake yourselves and report aboard the poop deck as a group. Lucia seems to still be asleep, though four of the more veteran crewmen constantly remind you to pay attention to only getting up and ready. As a group, they herd you to the stairs.

As the last one of you steps onto the stairs, four bodies appear at the head. "Ah, well.... looks like lots a sumbody's gonna be a bit late today, because they're gonna have their faces punched in. The only thing left up to chance is... who's first?" he says, cracking his knuckles for a fight. The four behind you also start chuckling menacingly, lining up and blocking the way back down.

Okay, combat time! No one has drawn weapons. And yes, they are all hostile. I will give you all one post to see if you can say anthing to one of them to halt their attack. Either way I need initiative checks from everyone who's still alive. The pirates in front of you are Aretta Bansion, Fipps Chumlett, Jaundiced Jape, and Slippery Sy Lonegan; those in back are Tam “Narwhal” Tate, Jack Scrimshaw, Shivikah and “Badger” Medlar. Also depending on how many people post, some of the pirates may or may not disappear, so yeah. Also since this is [b]MANDATORY THAT YOU POST SOMETHING[b] I'll give you a reasonably long time, buuuut since I don't have, say, two dates this week AND a friend living at my place, I should be around to check more often. So yeah, have fun!

Sunny sits up, startled awake by the clanging of metal and blinks as her mind catches up with reality. She yawns, stretching her arms high above her head and twisting and flexing as she woks off the nights slumber before flipping dextrously out of her hammock and joining the jumble of crew getting ready to swarm up onto deck.

At the halt of proceedings and the words that drift down from the glare of daylight above, Sunny does her best to slip to one side.

She steps forward, as close to the base of the stairs as she can. " Is this supposed to be some kind of initation stunt? If so, consider us initated and call it a win so we can all go up and report on time."

No one seems to have realized that Sharice isn't mixed in the crowd of victims-to-be until "Slippery" Sy finds himself with a dagger jammed into his side.

"Oooh, I know! This is a game of Who Can We Bully, isn't it? Can I go next?" she asks, grinning widely. Too widely, perhaps, and there is a glint in her eyes that does not at all go with the cheerful tone of her voice as she fixes the four at the top of the stairs with her gaze."

"I learned a few things about bullies while growing up, you see," she continues once she's certain she has everyone's attention. "And the amazing thing is that bullies like you tend to be cowards - you only ever pick on the weaker, and even then you don't try anything until you outnumber your victims and make sure they can't possibly fight back. Because it's just not fun when you might get hurt yourself..."

She lets the sentence trail off while she examines the blood on her dagger in an almost distracted fashion, then smiles again. "And that goes double when you're deciding on new targets. After all, you never know when someone turns out to be more dangerous than she appears..."

Sharice pauses for effect, her grin now definitely on the far edge of sanity. "Hi. Now here's how it is. You're going to stand aside to let my companions out, and given how one of them's an actual cleric, we can fix poor Sy here up with none the worse for wear except another tear in his shirt, and then none of you are ever going to try to bully us again. I was done getting bullied before I finished growing breasts, and I'll be keelhauled before I let a bunch of gutless thugs like you push me around... But if it comes to that, I swear to Besmara's blood that by the time they drag me away, two of you will be dead, one will need the surgeon, and the fourth will never, ever walk straight again."

"So, what's it going to be?"

The lead pirate's face blanks. "Uhhh.. huh. So... you want out?" He says, smiling a sly grin. How are you going to pay for it? And can you get her to shut up?" He adds, pointing at Aula.

Sooo... trying that again.

Keeping the 16 initiative from last time.

This time making an acrobatics check to get off the stairwell. If successful, also trying to get my sling up & ready.

Acrobatics:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Edit: Frack! I loathe this dice roller. Demonically high number of 1's

sense_motive_lead_pirate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19Sensing motive all over him, though.

"I can try."

Taize turns to Aula. "Pull yourself together! Whining about your fate can't change it."

Female Human Swashbuckler

Satisfied she is in good position to take down one of the bullies and protect the rest of the group, Aula pretends to get a hold on herself and still sniffing, stops her whining.

"I...I'm trying. I'm just so frightened. I've got nothing to pay, they took everything I had.", she says, opening her leather-clad hands to show her peacefull intentions.

As long as no one make a threatening movement, she will play with it. But Aula is still ready to pounce.

Your attempt to leap from the stairwell fails hillariously as you slip and fall. Thankfully this just makes you appear to be clumsy as you knock over everyone behind you, and are caught in the strong arms of the pirates waiting at the bottom of the staircase. "Careful there... wouldn't want to break your neck," says Jack Scrimshaw.

Taize (and everyone else)

Alright, good. If you mean to pay then show the money. Otherwise, we're gonna have to make sure you don't look so pretty when the sun strikes yer face."

Nay, seriously, where teh heck be every one? Are we at th' top of a set of stairs? Be we at th' bottom an' they be at th' top? Are we all in'a room we woke up in? Where be these curmudgeons who be rousting on us? Actually, exactly how many bad guys are there? Are there more of us than there are o' them? Sorry t'be a pain, but folks would wants t'know.

Are we into Round 2, type of thing?

Male Hobgoblin Cleric 1

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Initiative

I must admit I'm a bit confused as to the layout as well. Turnipheads action if there is a physical way to do so would be to call upon a wave to wash over the deck, and knock one of the pirated down or off the side, but i'm not sure of the layout.

Brendan looks if there are any brooms or other things he can get right now.
