Evelyn let out a quiet scream as the arrow manages to pierce her armor. She knew the archer was no amateur then. As the leader approached, she decided to play it safe to see what she was dealing with during this fight.

Readied action: Shield Bash, fighting defensively
Shield Bash: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 4 = 11
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

AC is now 22, 14 Touch. He needed an 18 to hit me, and here I am. XD Also, heads up to my comrades, that archer has a +4 to damage for some reason. Not sure what we're messing with, but that's no ordinary goblin archer. No metagamey intended. I'm sure Evelyn has never messed with a goblin that awesome either. XD

Focusing on his ring, Nessus emits a large variety of colors from his hand, despite not having it ready for the occasion. Moving to target both the leader, Melee 1 and Melee 3 while excluding Evelyn, then cast Color Spray.

Results:

Stunned, Unconscious and Blinded: 2d4 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Stunned and Blinded: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Stunned: 1d1 ⇒ 1
Saving throw: Will, need a 15.

"Get to the archers now! Evelyn is injured!"

The Goblin Leader grinned as he shrugged off Evelyn's Shield Bash

You'll have to do better than that, BRETON!

The Leader grumbled as he raised his sword high to strike down on Evelyn-

Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

He swatted away Nessus' color spray, shrugging it off in his anger.

Attack Evelyn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Though the color spray's effect was not permanent, it appeared to have greatly drained the Goblin Leader's ability to attack.

Will Save Melee 1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19
Will Save Melee 3: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6

The goblin stumbled and wavered as he was blinded with a heavy shriek.

The other, unaffected, shrugged as he moved past it to attack Nessus

Fa'zakar takes aim and lets loose another arrow at one of the archers to protect his new comrades if possible.
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Archer 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The archer dodges Fa'Zakar's arrow with a shake of its head, but let loose its own arrow too quickly back at Fa'Zakar. It missed horribly, not even making it to the top of the terrace.

Nessus, injured from the goblin, slowly takes distance from the attacker, then conjures a magical wall, blocking the archers goblins's view, then follows by saying aloud:

Language->Bretic:
The wall is not real, I'm just gaining time! They shouldn't understand this language, Evelyn!

Lastly, he extracts his dagger from the belt pouch, wondering if he'll have the chance to use it.

Five foot step from the Melee 1, cast Silent Image of a wall in this shape, where the squares are walls, the blue ones are the arch and the cyan lines are the fake wall, 10 foot tall.
The wall occupies five 10 ft squares, and allows a 15 Will Saving throw only if the wall is interacted with, something reveals the nature of the illusion (such seeing an arrow passing trough solid matter) or they are informed that they are facing an illusion. Otherwise, what is seen is real.
Then I extract the dagger, ready to coup-the-grace the unconscious goblin.

Alright, after I almost made a cluster f@$+ of things, Nessus' wall is UP, the second archer's movement is it's only turn, as it sees a wall go up and goes up the stairs. This occurs after Evelyn's turn, but it will not be interacting with the wall.

Evelyn turned a stern gaze toward the goblin leader.

"By Stendarr, I will destroy you and spill your vile blood!"

Full-round Action: full attack on goblin leader while fighting defensively.
Swift action: Smite goblin leader.
1d20 + 5 - 2 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 5 - 2 + 2 - 4 = 6
1d20 + 5 - 2 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 2 + 2 - 4 = 2

1d8 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

... What kind of awful Companion am I? These rolls, man.

AC is now 22, 14 touch. Against the leader, my AC is now 24. 16 touch and 20 flat-footed.

Wow... I read those rolls 3x to make sure I read them right

The Goblin Leader laughed, shrugging off both of the attacks as he mockingly repeated Evelyn's words to her- it was clear he didn't understand most of it as he grovelled on.

By... STENDARR I will destroy you, and, SPILL YOUR VILE BLOOD?!?!?

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Once again the Goblin Leader's attack bounced from Evelyn's shield as he snarled and howled in anger.

The Goblin that had so recently struck Nessus kept up with him, grinning as the Goblin Leader was.

Breton dies now!!!

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Seeing that Nessus was wavering, he howled

LOOK! CHIEF! LOOK! I GOT 'EM!

Both archers could now be seen at the top of the stairs, one of them taking aim at Nessus with a returning hoop and holler that echoed loudly through the stone walls.

Archer 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

The arrow missed Nessus by a long shot-

Will Save Archer 2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11

clattering and skidding across the ground.

Evelyn begins to feel something shake and beheld a purple glow burst from her travel pack.

As Evelyn rummages around in the bag to find the soul gems, the two archers both take fire at her-

The arrows close in, her shield arm raising just too slow-

The Goblin Leader and Melee closest to him, seeing the wall disappear, close in on Fa'Zakar as well, their blades honing in to go right through the Khajiit's chest-

And then, suddenly, Evelyn sees what is making the light- two large, purple and blue soul gems now shaking in her sword hand as light burst through them, shattering them both to pieces with the loud sound of a gleam.

Before them all appears a purple and black vortex that makes an off-set shimmering noise, as a man in a red and purple suit walks calmly out of it.

He laughs as he sees all the Goblins, and they turn away from all of you to look upon him.

What is this? OH! Madness! Well, that would explain why I'm here. Yes- you are my Champions! But, wait- oh no, oh HE does not look well at all.

The Goblin Leader charges at the suit wearing man, but with a grin he taps his cane on the floor.

ULTIMATE DAEDRIC POWER: 1d200 ⇒ 156
AMPLIFIER: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21

Fire surges across the floor, bursting the goblins all into ash as the man moves his eyes from each of the bodies. As the portal behind him disappears, he walks over to Evelyn

It would seem that old blade didn't quite tell you what I told him too, did he? Oh well- I'm blaming my manservant. He was the transporter of the translation, after all! YES! OI! You, Evelyn- are you not aware of the power I gave you? Here, try again.

The Man calmly takes out two more soul gems, just like the first, and hands them to Evelyn.

To activate them, simply call on me, or say a holy phrase. Or do a dance! It doesn't matter, really, as long as you are a bit mad!

He laughs, uncontrollably, almost losing his cane as he waits for Evelyn to try to re-activate the unique soul gems.

Evelyn takes a moment to just stare at the Daedric Prince. She wasn't sure if she was looking at an ally or mortal enemy.

A moment later, she took the gems and just looked at them for a moment before speaking.

"Sheogorath, Sheogorath, Sheogorath?"

Sorry, couldn't resist the Beatlegeuse reference. XD

The flames give their last roar across the ayleid stone and it returns to darkness as they disappear back into Sheogorath's cane.

He continues to laugh as he gives his cane a gentle rap against his own head, and then points it to Nessus

BEHOLD! The moment I saw you, my dear Champion, I KNEW you were great for the madness! The irony, THE COINCIDENCE I could not help myself!

Evelyn and Fa'Zakar watch as the wavering and nearly unconscious Nessus' skin returned to full from flushed, his breathing audibly louder than it was before, and his wounds healed.

YES! The illusive mage has arisen again! Ahahahaha!

Sheogorath walked over to Nessus, picking him up and dusting him off

What are you doing on the floor there, laddie? Don't you know you have a job here as well? I might be mad, but I'm not selfish! Or, well, maybe I'm selfish, but I'm not as selfish as I am mad, or mad enough to be as selfish as you'd think I'd be! I'm exactly the selfish a mad man ought to be, that's me.

Sheogorath leans into Nessus with a whisper

Message to Nessus:

You are quite the powerful mage already, it is why I picked you after all! But I've decided you should have just a bit more of a boost- an increase in your madness!

Plus 2 to all available spell lists for you, Nessus, and at level 5, level 1 spells are considered free casts

Finally, Sheogorath moved to Fa'zakar. He walked in a circle about the Khajiit, nodding to himself as a suitor would.

Yes, yes, there is indeed more than one way to skin a cat, but so many more than that to build them up! I have to admit, you are the most peculiar of the Champions, my dear Khajiit! BUT-

Fa'Zakar:

You are the greatest thief to have ever crossed into Cyrodil in a long, long time Fa'Zakar. That will become quite useful! From here on out, my very Daedric Shadow will aid you!

Fa'Zakar, as a Blessing of Madness, you are allowed to "take 10" in ANY situation on sleight of hand, stealth, and perception checks

With that Sheogorath walked back down the terrace, the same purple and black portal shimmering in front of him as he spun back around, tapping his cane once again to his head

NOW, don't let me down again! I don't plan on entering this realm for quite some time, Champions of Sheo, hm, no, Champions of Madness! Ahahaha!

With that Sheogorath threw his cane into the portal, following it up by diving in himself as he saluted away to the three.

Evelyn, you have 4 Madness Soul Gems, and can use 2 to heal anyone on the team. This includes yourself, even if you are unconscious *or* dead

Feel free to post any questions about your powers in the discussion thread

Not sure about how this is going to end, and in front of an immensely powerful entity, he says those words.

Great Sheogorath, I'm glad that you came here to save us. Maybe I could be dead now. But why, Lord Sheogorath, are you here?

Sheogorath is seen winking a single eye at Nessus as the portal closes around him, returning him to his own Realm

Why? Madness, Nessus

Alright guys, this is it for this cave- there is a treasure chest with loot down by the beds as you all noticed earlier, and there are no more enemies in this "dungeon." Go ahead and check the loot, then sleep, then begin the next stage of the journey in the morning

Fa'Zakar, I didn't write it very well, but that "take 10" doesn't mean what it does in the CRB, where the d20 is automatically 10. It means you add 10 to your rolls mentioned in the above!!!! Super stealth cat! I had to give you a power that felt like it matched the spells of Nessus and the reviving powers of Evelyn!

Fa'Zakar sees no further traps, or even signs of life as he guides the others down the stairs filled with the ash of the dead goblins and to the treasure chest. Running careful claws gently over the chest Fa'Zakar sees that there is no lock on it- the goblins were cocky with their loot they had just stolen from the dead necromancer who was also, now, turned to ash by Sheogorath.

Opening the treasure chest you find the following to be divided among yourselves-
1) Shortbow, composite 75 gp [77.33%, Cheap Quality] : 58gp [+]
2) Curve blade, elven 80 gp [112.5%, High Quality] : 90gp [+]
3) Hammer, light 1 gp [Standard Quality] : 1gp [+]
4) Javelin 1 gp [Standard Quality] : 1gp [+]
5) Potion of Shillelagh {1st/1st} : 50gp [+]
6) Potion of Hide from animals {1st/1st} : 50gp [+]
7) Universal solvent : 50gp [+]

Ugh. Random generated. Perhaps next time there will be something a little more interesting!

I see no written rules on the shortbow composite, so I will deem your 14 Strength more than enough to use it, Khajiit!

I will accept spellcraft or Knowledge Arcana rolls to discover / know what the potions do, as long as you have points in that check

Oh my. Holy cow, lmao.

Nessus, you know that the Potion of Shillelagh makes any non-magical item gain a +1 enhancement bonus for 10 rounds that it is used on, and deals damage as if it were 2 sizes larger.

The Potion of Hide from Animals grants the person the potion is used on 100 rounds of being completely undetected by any creature For the sake of the game we will say anything that is not a "mer/man" unless a creature is attacked, in which case the spell is over.

Finally, the Universal Solvent is capable of dissolving *any* adhesive, rope, etc. Should you save this and not sell it, remind me of it and I will let you know, no rolls needed, if the Solvent could be used or not.

After only a few minutes of travel Fa'Zakar sees a cave to the left of the group as they continue down the path- Greenmead Cave, and in front of it are two bandits that seem at ease and without any sign of gore standing in front of it- one is a female Dark Elf, the other a tall and broad shouldered Orc.

But that's not what- The Orc started as the Dark Elf female leaned into him-

I don't give a damn what he said- we're not going in there just the two of us. The other three died just on the way here- damned wolves.

She bit her lip, questioning whether they should or shouldn't go into the Cave behind her.

The Orc shrugged Then we need to leave for camp and claim the others died here- Imperial Guards are patrolling the roads more than ever.

We have no violent intentions here.
We heard your words as we found you on our path. I do not know what you were trying to do, yet this is not important since we are not guards, and you are free to do whatever you like. We know about the three who died, and by not seeing you sad I conclude that they were not so much important for you. This is the reason why we just proposed you the affair. A dead body is not going to use the armor, the weapon, or the money it has, you know, and neither the wolves are. I don't see you confident in doing this alone, but if you weren't alone, you could find yourself with heavier pockets, I'm just saying.
