Hey guys, so we've had two players leave, and with school and everything else NPC'ing two crucial characters with story lines will be a little much on top of all else I was planning.

This means, unfortunately, I will be cancelling this adventure. Sorry about that, and thank you for contributing.

If both of you want I'm sketching up a new adventure to replace this one for the recruiting thread within the next week- I'd happily give Nessus and Fa'Zakar a spot if you wanted one in it and can keep you posted.

No problem- Fa'Zakar you still around?

Everyone ready to move on outside the cave?

Nessus, if you wanted a shovel in the group so you could have one for other purposes, I have no problem giving that too you.

It is a cave that definitely had other adventurers killed in their journey through it.

Absolutely!
If you'd prefer it to be gp (looks at Fa'Zakar) let me know if you can't use any of it.

You guys are approaching Skingrad which, despite being somewhat closed down, will have some shops.

Give me a little bit to flesh out your two oops, I mean ONE ( ;) ) new companions to come along, Shezub.

As Nessus opened the treasure chest the large, oak lid "thunked" as it rested on the hinges and the light emitting from the top of the cave scattered the focused rays all around the cave-

Inside the chest were-
1) Universal solvent
2) Divine Scroll, Summon nature's ally II (2nd/3rd level)
3) Crossbow, heavy and +50 crossbow bolts
4) Great Sword
5) Shuriken (20)
6) 2 Potions of Cure Moderate Wounds

All of these items were covered in quartz, onyx, blood stone, and filled to the brim with hundreds of Septims, most likely stolen by the Ogre from previous victims who wandered into the cave.

(you each get 250gp, along with Shezub, and have a free for all with the rest of the loot)

Shezub gave a depressed laugh finished with a low tone sigh at Fa'zakar's comment You know, I've never really been fond of you Kuh-geet, but you, you seem alright Fa'Zakar!

With a few claps to Fa'Zakar's back he nodded to Nessus
Yes, the gods indeed. I believe they brought you to interrupt us for a reason... Malacath always asks me to join the strong. You guys appear quite strong-
I'm leaving those marauders I was with. I'll roll with you guys instead. As a memento to my Ulvisa- she was the one who trusted you after all.

Between the power of Fa'Zakar's arrow lodging itself in the Ogre's belly, Nessus' spell of color spray, and Shezub's vengeful stab of love and lust against the beast, it fell to the ground dead with a mighty groan.

Its great club rolled loudly across the floor, knocking open the treasure chest it had guarded with it and its pets lives.

This is the end of the road here, unless you wish to spend a full day instead of half a day in the cave?

Shezub solemnly approaches the group, his head held low-

Ulvisa's already pulverized body now lay underneath the Ogre.

Tears rolled down the Orc's eyes

I.... She was my first love.

The Ogre scratches it's belly with a grin as it raises its great club high at Ulvisa-

Ogre Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Ogre SMASH: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 7) + 2 = 17

Ulvisa dies instantly, crushed beneath the weight of the Ogre's great club.

Shezub stabs after the Ogre again in anger at the death of his dark elf woman

I'LL SKIN YOU ALIVE!

Coup de grace

1 Stab for Love: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Ogre Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

The Ogre's thick hide reflects the spell away, his focus on the two bandits seeming to intensify as if the spell had never been cast in the first place.

Going to pend for Evelyn's post until tonight, then I'll post Ogre's response

Initiative Order
Shezub
Fa'Zakar
Ulvisa
Nessus
Pending Evelyn
Ogre

Bandits are at full attack power, woohoo!

Shezub gave his own roar as he moved in on the Ogre-

Closing the distance he drew his rapier with a continued baring of teeth between the two beastly beings.

He lunged forward with the rapier-

And it plunged into the beasts belly, causing it to roar in anger as it matched his stare.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Ulvisa closes in to join him with a grin across her face as she too lunged-

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Lunge Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The beast, distracted by Shezub's closing in on the beast, is unable to move out of Ulvisa's way and the rapier also pierces his belly's hide.

Fa'Zakar's arrow whistles through the air after the two bandits plunge their blades into its hide, planting itself with a sucking noise in the beast's left arm.

As Nessus' spell spears through and quickly ends the second wolf's life Fa'Zakar cowers in the darkness for a moment as he sees what was making the thumping-

Tall, thick, with a large rough hided belly. It's shoulders are somewhat scaled and it carries a large great club over one of them as it pounds the wall of the cave with its fist.

Boom

They all heard it, though still only Fa'Zakar had his eye on it-

It was an Ogre, scratching it's belly as it peered warily around the room with a grumble.

It caught sight of the entire crew, and made its way for Fa'Zakar with a loud roar at the sight of the two dead wolves.

Ogre's Squint: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Fa'Zakar he has darkvision, so your sneak has now run out

Fa'Zakar you are ten feet away, Evelyn and the rest of you are about 20 feet away.

Initiative for Ogre: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Re-roll initiative! This is the final guy in this cave!!!

Ulvisa: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Shezub: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Nope I'm dumb, Evelyn actually doesn't have an attack this round since it is "surprise" my bad guys

Ulvisa and Shezub both fire an arrow at each wolf

Ulvisa attacks Wolf 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Shezub attacks Wolf 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Narrow miss!
Damage for Ulvisa: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Wolf 1 quickly falls down with a dying whine as Wolf 2 continues to snarl at the group after letting loose a long, loud howl.

The thumping and banging continues in the darkness well beyond the treasure chest- Everyone roll perception!

Sorry about the delay!

Initiative Order
Nessus
Wolf 2
Fa'Zakar
Wolf 1
Evelyn
Ulvisa
Shezub

The wolves both lunge after Evelyn with a loud yip

Attack Wolf 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Attack Wolf 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

but both bites fall against the shield dealing no damage to the fully defending Companion. An arrow whistles through the air from Fa'Zakar and plants itself right in the hind leg of Wolf 1, gravely injuring it as it emits a loud howl.

Something near the distant and dark tunnel pounds and shakes what feels like the entire cave.

Evelyn you can go ahead! Then Initiative round 2 starts

I agree. The bandits stealth rolls have been f@!$ing ridiculous

Will post combat by the end of tonight!

Oh that's right!!! Nessus, if no one else says so before combat begins, we can assume you have the potion. If not we'll draw straws for who uses it

Fa'Zakar don't forget initiative

Evelyn's tactic at the wolves worked, howling as they both charged after her-

Initiative Wolf 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Initiative Wolf 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Shezub Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Ulvisa's Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Evelyn since you all see the wolves, I'm not too worried about you even being flat footed. I see no rules as a failed initiative roll, so we'll say you are full defensive as that is your character's basic stance, and leave it at that

Initiative Order - Fa'Zakar
Nessus
Wolf 2
Wolf 1
Evelyn
Ulvisa
Shezub

Since Fa'Zakar is leading I won't worry about Evelyn's input quite yet

As Fa'Zakar slowly creeps along the narrow cavern the three wolves had just pinned them in he saw a few rotting skeletons with chew marks that gave him a bit of an eerie feeling that there may be more than just wolves in the cave.

Low yips and mumbles can be heard as Fa'Zakar carefully turns the corner-

Two wolves wrestle with one another in the center of the cavern and are unaware of Fa'Zakar completely.

A chest can be seen near the center of the room- another dead skeleton's hand on top of it.

Stealth of Shezub: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Stealth of Ulvisa: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Ulvisa comes up closely behind Fa'Zakar and a bone cracks underneath her boot-

damn it- she whispered and cursed as she retreated.

Shezub put a finger to his lips, shushing her-

Perception Wolf 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Perception Wolf 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

The wolves both roll over from their playing and begin to snarl in the direction of the group, though Fa'Zakar's presence is unknown to them as he slinks to the shadows.

Alright Fa'Zakar, so you have snuck past them so far, but since they can obviously see in the dark you'll want to get out of their eye sight after the first round- 15 feet along the shadows/ wall of the cave in the direction of the chest will do it

Evelyn let us know on the light put on your shield- that would affect the free cover of darkness Fa'Zakar has on his rolls right now as well

What potion Nessus?

Nessus remind me of mage armor as soon as a battle begins- you won't have to burn a round counting it and I won't count the rounds until a fight starts. Easier for me to keep track of time that way instead of assuming where all 100 rounds would have been spent between here and the rest of the cave xD

Ulvisa is sure to check each of the three wolves

Looks like they're dead, but-

Another howling echoes through the cavern Sounds like there's more. Shezub, you alright?

He grinned back at her and the group Little f!~%er tripped me is all- I'm fine. Let's continue- Fa'Zakar, you want the lead still?

The wolf remains unconscious, but is still alive-

Shezub steps forward with his bow this time as he spits on the wolf

Not going to trip me this time, worthless mutt.

Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

The arrow plunges deep into the wolves now motionless chest, and it dies.

Go ahead Evelyn and Nessus! Wolf 3 is all that remains with 4 more rounds of knock out!

Wolf 2 Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Wolf 3 Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14

Nice! Both are now unconscious! Everyone go ahead with initiative round 2- doesn't matter now that they are unconscious!

oooooh 20% miss chance here we go! Anything greater than 20 hits!

CHANCE: 1d100 ⇒ 72

The wolf snapped and dodged Evelyn's blade with a snarl, but was caught well off guard by her shield and, as the shield fell upon its howling head, it dropped dead.

Ulvisa and Shezub both stepped to Wolf 2, rapiers out as they grinned at one another

Shezub Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Ulvisa Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Both of their rapiers missed as both wolves lunged forward to attack Shezub-

Wolf 2 Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Wolf 1 Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Wolf 1 Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Failed!

Wolf 1 Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

The wolf snarls and tears at Shezub's ankle-
Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

And Shezub falls to the ground, prone.

The wolves howl once more- but this time howls can be heard as a return call from somewhere deep in the cave.

Go ahead Nessus!

You'll want to do so Nessus, for now everyone else has 20% miss chance otherwise except Fa'Zakar I believe.

Do any of you aside from Fa'Zakar have low-light vision / dark vision?

Initiative Order
Initiative Order
Fa’zakar
Wolf 1
Evelyn
Ulvisa
Nessus
Wolf 2
Shezub
Wolf 3

Low growls can be heard as soon as the group moves into the entrance of the cave. Ulvisa gives a quiet "sssh" but Evelyn moves forward, bracing at the wolves. She's dealt with plenty before in Skyrim- southern wolves were nothing compared to those that were raised by true Tamrielic men.

Nessus and Fa'Zakar are clearly well hidden from the wolves, as instead of moving in on them they each square up with Evelyn, Shezub, and Ulvisa.

Alright guys, let's do this thing! Go ahead and post your attacks whenever, I'll organize it like last time *except I won't lose track this time, lmfao*

tis the power of Sheogorath! I will post in a little bit guys, sorry for the delay!

Well DONE Fa'zakar! :)

Alright guys, right now once again you are in low-light once in the cave. Go ahead and roll stealth and perception and initiative since the lovebirds apparently are very stealthy

Initiative for Shezub: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Initiative for Ulvisa: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Initiative for ???: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Initiative for ???: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Initiative for ???: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

The Orc rears his mouth at Evelyn

A Paladin, eh? No funny business, then. Let's go- Fa'Zakar, feel free to lead.

Ulvisa grinned at Evelyn Nice to meet another female who knows how to use a weapon, he he. Our chief told us that there should be good and magical loot in here, but..... It's guarded, as far as he knows, by wolves. Rumor has it a giant mudcrab is at the very depths of the cave as well- so be careful and anyone who is running low on supplies, say something.

Shezub laughed as if he was choking on something from glee Yeah, you don't want to be wolf fodder like the rest of our companions! Hahahaha alright!

They each drew their bow and filed in behind Fa'Zakar, Nessus and Evelyn close behind.

Shezub's Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Shezub's Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11

Ulvisa's Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Ulvisa's Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12

??? Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
??? Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
??? Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Jesus f@$% Bandits.

Give me a little bit to flesh out the dungeon based on the real in-game maps and we'll be ready to dive guys!

The Orc looked to the Dark Elf, who winked at him and nodded

See I told you Shezub! Now we don't have to risk our lives going back to get worthless men, either. Alright, we'll do it. But here's the rub-

We want an even five way split. 20% for us, 30% for you on the loot. We could care less about weapons, but, if it's something really rare....

The Dark Elf pulled out a series of dried reeds that almost looked like straws Shortest straw gets the loot, every time, ok?

The Orc rose, pushing the Dark Elf behind him as they both drew their rapiers, but were clearly hesitant on what to do as they looked back and forth at one another.

The Orc looked from Evelyn to Fa'Zakar, noticeably at their armor and clothing

You... Aren't Gold Skulls, are you?

The Dark Elf, seeing that you weren't, tugged back on the Orc's shoulders as she sheathed her own blade

Shezub, look at them- I don't think they're bandits at all. She sheathed his sword for him as she then moved forward.

Who are you? no one goes into a cave with strangers. As for where our gold goes-

The Dark Elf looked back at Shezub Well, I don't think Gotti will mind, do you Shezub?

The Orc shrugged Answer her question- why the cave, and why with strangers.

It was clear he wasn't violent as long as she was around- but he also was protective of her, making him cautious.

should be noted that he meant her cheating on him with a Khajiit, NOT to eat one lolol

Fates have decided, then, that you guys will approach them. Apparently they are so excited to have joined the group that they have blinders f~*%ing on, LOLOL go ahead and approach, no way they say you until you make your presence clear

Nice spell!

Though the trees of The Great Forest somewhat interfere with Evelyn as she detects for evil, what little vibrations of nature she can detect has not even a lick of it. It is clear though they are bandits, they have yet to do a dirty deed earning them the rank of an evil alignment.

Perception on Orc: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Perception on Dark Elf: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7

The pair are seen cautiously looking around before parting with a kiss and laying down next to the trunk of a very sizeable tree. The Orc chomps at the Dark Elf playfully leading to her emitting out a giggle as he begins to unpack their rations and drink, pouring wine into cheap wooden cups.

Oh I'm so happy we joined the Gold Skulls Shezub! I can't wait for us to just find some loot and get out of this country. Maybe we could go to Elsweyr!

The Orc sighed with a shaking of his head Why, have a sudden taste for Khajiit, Ulvisa?

More laughing ensued as the wine continued to flow and the Orc bit into the rations, then feeding the Dark Elf.

Same here lmao I disappeared again, sorry about that.

LOL

Nessus you are aware of them, but can't remember their groups name. They aren't always violent, and put plunder before murder in a wide variety of cases. People were talking about their group doing something major, but you couldn't quite remember what. An emblem in the shape of a gold coin with a skull imprint over it is poorly painted upon their armor- a symbol you remember meaning something along the lines of "Gold over Death"

Hey guys sorry for not posting earlier- dropped the ball today.

Also, Evelyn, do you tend to coast until the action? If so, I give no f*&$s, just don't want to steam roll any of you :)

You guys can attempt sense motive, etc. if you'd like to see how they feel about things in general based on their comments. Nexus, an unskill pointed check in Local Knowledge will tell you a little bit about the Bandits as well, since you are a Cyrodillic native.

- see the vast shrubbery of The Great Forest. A light drizzle leaves dew drops on the shrubbery and tickles their faces as they move back down the path that had lead them into Ceyatatar the night before off The Gold Road.

After only a few minutes of travel Fa'Zakar sees a cave to the left of the group as they continue down the path- Greenmead Cave, and in front of it are two bandits that seem at ease and without any sign of gore standing in front of it- one is a female Dark Elf, the other a tall and broad shouldered Orc.

But that's not what- The Orc started as the Dark Elf female leaned into him-

I don't give a damn what he said- we're not going in there just the two of us. The other three died just on the way here- damned wolves.

She bit her lip, questioning whether they should or shouldn't go into the Cave behind her.

The Orc shrugged Then we need to leave for camp and claim the others died here- Imperial Guards are patrolling the roads more than ever.

The Dark Elf giggled as she traced a finger down the Orc's armor
Well... Maybe we could wait just a few minutes.

Neither of them, too concerned with the cave and each other, had noticed the group along the path- yet.

After picking and scavenging through the chest that the goblins had been hoarding, the group puts out the tiny fire in the center of the cots and heads to sleep, resting for the next part of their journey.

The group wakes up to the gentle rays of the morning sun and the sound of birds beginning their morning songs.

Heading outside of Ceyatatar, they-

Perception and Survival rolls guys!

If there is anything else you wanted to do in Ceyatatar before exiting, let me know and we can rewind, if not, then onward we go! I'll have all the random rolls ready in an hour or so

Nessus the bodies are all ash, BUT, don't worry, no one is going to bother you guys at night- not here anyways xD

Well I read that, but I didn't see any specific strength requirements for the shortbow other than what you just posted Evelyn. That's actually what I used *the link you gave* instead of digging through the CRB.

Fa'Zakar has 14 strength, so he definitely has more than enough to use the bow.

Didn't know that the rating = bonus damage it did, though, thought it was just that if your strength is high enough than you apply your strength modifier regardless xD

Since it's a shortbow composite, we'll say it has the +2 rating so that Fa'Zakar can take full advantage of his 14 STR.

Thanks Evelyn!

Oh my. Holy cow, lmao.

Nessus, you know that the Potion of Shillelagh makes any non-magical item gain a +1 enhancement bonus for 10 rounds that it is used on, and deals damage as if it were 2 sizes larger.

The Potion of Hide from Animals grants the person the potion is used on 100 rounds of being completely undetected by any creature For the sake of the game we will say anything that is not a "mer/man" unless a creature is attacked, in which case the spell is over.

Finally, the Universal Solvent is capable of dissolving *any* adhesive, rope, etc. Should you save this and not sell it, remind me of it and I will let you know, no rolls needed, if the Solvent could be used or not.

Closing activities! Anyone have anything else they'd like to do before they rest and begin again the next morning?

*bows*

It is. Like I said, I needed to even you out with Evelyn's revival powers and Nessus' soon to come infinite spells.

For stealth obviously rules still apply- cover is required, etc, and you can see why I only gave that bonus in the skills I did, but I think it matches the Thief / Mage / Warrior divide this group sort of has <3

By the way, Nessus- are your level 0 spells never considered cantrips? I remember seeing even the level 0 spells had a casting number to them when I took a glance at your class. If so, your powers may advance as well.

Evelyn- so that when it does happen / the time comes, you don't think I'm just nerfing the enemies and pulling things from my ass, your "hero points" *the soul gems* do have one other purpose, but that isn't until much later. :)

I see no written rules on the shortbow composite, so I will deem your 14 Strength more than enough to use it, Khajiit!

I will accept spellcraft or Knowledge Arcana rolls to discover / know what the potions do, as long as you have points in that check

That site just takes me to this page, Nessus-

What site are you talking about?

Fa'Zakar, I didn't write it very well, but that "take 10" doesn't mean what it does in the CRB, where the d20 is automatically 10. It means you add 10 to your rolls mentioned in the above!!!! Super stealth cat! I had to give you a power that felt like it matched the spells of Nessus and the reviving powers of Evelyn!

Fa'Zakar sees no further traps, or even signs of life as he guides the others down the stairs filled with the ash of the dead goblins and to the treasure chest. Running careful claws gently over the chest Fa'Zakar sees that there is no lock on it- the goblins were cocky with their loot they had just stolen from the dead necromancer who was also, now, turned to ash by Sheogorath.

Opening the treasure chest you find the following to be divided among yourselves-
1) Shortbow, composite 75 gp [77.33%, Cheap Quality] : 58gp [+]
2) Curve blade, elven 80 gp [112.5%, High Quality] : 90gp [+]
3) Hammer, light 1 gp [Standard Quality] : 1gp [+]
4) Javelin 1 gp [Standard Quality] : 1gp [+]
5) Potion of Shillelagh {1st/1st} : 50gp [+]
6) Potion of Hide from animals {1st/1st} : 50gp [+]
7) Universal solvent : 50gp [+]

Ugh. Random generated. Perhaps next time there will be something a little more interesting!

Sheogorath is seen winking a single eye at Nessus as the portal closes around him, returning him to his own Realm

Why? Madness, Nessus

Alright guys, this is it for this cave- there is a treasure chest with loot down by the beds as you all noticed earlier, and there are no more enemies in this "dungeon." Go ahead and check the loot, then sleep, then begin the next stage of the journey in the morning

Well, you get 2 additional casts, though I don't mind you treating it as slots either.

So for level 0 you have 3 casts and level 1 you have 1 cast right now.

With this bonus you would have 5 casts for level 0 and 3 casts for level 1!
