Arsith tries to hit the disgusting creature again, wanting to capitalise on the opportunity from Miss Zee Evil Eye

Joanna Whitehall |

Joanna seeing that the evil spider was still within her reach takes her sword and stabs forward, trying to wound it, and hopefully get it to focus on her.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
"Aw, I'm getting a bit jealous. I thought you were only going to focus on the cheeky little girl who didn't know her place?"
Notgood.Notgood.Notgood.

Scuttling backwards, Alizna bites at Briana below her...
Alizna, Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23, hitting for 1d6 ⇒ 4 plus Poison
Briana takes 2 Poison Damage and must make a DC14 Fort Save to avoid a worsened condition.
Chuckling, she replies to Joanna, "All in good time my dear... All in good time..."
Everyone may take their turn now - the map is now up to date...

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Zee draws a card from her tattered Harrow deck, touches it to her forehead, then hurls it at the spider-thing that is Alizna.
Ranged atrack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Joanna Whitehall |

Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Joanna struggles to get free and force Alizna to focus on her, but the webs hold too firm to her.

Teldon Moore |

Teldon briefly looks frustrated as he surveys the room and the shortage of available places from which he can use his spear. He carefully steps around Jo and ducks behind Briana through the open doorway before turning around and stabbing back at Alizna from the doorway.
longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15, with evil eye, maybe doing: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Briana Kaddren |
Fort (DC 14; Impaired -4 Fort/Con Checks): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 Alrighty then.
Briana yelps as Alizna's poison burns through her veins, leaving her dangerously weakened and on the verge of collapsing.
I can't-!
With few other options available, she staggers backward past Teldon in hopes that the wall will offer her some protection in the event that the spider-woman decides to pursue her. Leaning heavily against the wall, she desperately digs into her pack as her companions continue the fight...
If I'm reading the Diseases & Poisons rules right, Briana is now considered to be disabled. She takes a 5 foot step to move beside Teldon and into the next room and a move action to dig out a vial of antitoxin, if possible.

GM Zed |

Briana - you are now Weakened: A character weakened by Strength poison suffers a –2 penalty on Strength-based attack rolls, damage rolls, skill checks, and ability checks. Her carrying capacity is divided by 3. She is always considered to be carrying at least a medium load.
Ziomarra's card slices into the spider beast... it twitches angrily as one of its legs, partially severed, hangs uselessly below it... But Teldon, possibly distracted by Briana's injury, misses with his followup spear thrust...
GMPC for Arsith
Arsith's mace cracks against the spider's legs... Another one smashed into oblivion as the beast hisses in fury...
Arsith, Mace vs Alizna: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 21, hitting for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
...and, in retaliation, bites at Arsith...
Alizna, Bite vs Arsith: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24, hitting for 1d6 ⇒ 3 plus Poison
Arsith takes a further 2 poison damage and must make a DC14 Fortitude Save to avoid a worsened condition
Joanna - I have unchecked you / then rechecked you back into the campaign tab - hopefully it is back in your campaigns.
Everyone may take their turn now.

Joanna Whitehall |

Nope, gonna have to get some help on this one.
"C'mon. C'mon!"
Stregth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Joanna, struggles against the webs and finally frees herself. She glares at the spider and points her sword at it.
"Now, you face judgement."

Briana Kaddren |
Of course, there are more poison types than just Con-based...silly me :)
Having had more than her fill of poisonous bites, Briana chugs down the vial of antitoxin as her companions fight on. "Eeeyuck!" she gags. "It's like...like licorice!"
Okay, Briana gets a +5 bonus to Fort saves vs. poison for an hour.

Teldon Moore |

"Briana, are you alright?!?"
keep fighting, you can't help her if you turn your back on the creature and it takes you...
Teldon tries again to stab Alizna, growing more desperate to kill the creature...
burning inspiration...
longspear: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 5 + (5) = 21, hopefully doing: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Arsith D' Abariane |

Sorry,my daughter's comp was down yesterday evening, and I was super busy trying to fix it.
Fort save DC 14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Fueled by the need to protect those she cares for and learned to appreciate, angry at the monstruosity, Arsith barely feels the sting of the bite or the venom in her body.
Briana, stay behind, Teldon, stay with her, I'll protect you both. Love has suffered enough!

GM Zed |

Teldon’s spear drives upwards – crunching through the abdomen of the spider creature and, with a second push, piercing all the way through to the ceiling… a stick green liquid runs down the shaft of the spear as Alizna roars in pain. The creature, sluggish in its movements, is clearly very close to death...
Arsith and Ziomarra may act / attack now

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Eyes like blue fire, Zee throws another card at the spider-thing that is Alizna.
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 = 12
damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5

GM Zed |

Neither Ziomarra nor Arsith hurt the spider creature... it pulls itself tight against the ceiling as the attacks are aimed at it before, whispering in sibilants, it glares at the friends...
Alizna, Casting Defensively (DC19): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19, Spell Successfully Cast
...and then disappears. The scuttling and scratching noises from above the group tells of the creature's attempted escape...
Alizna, Stealth: 1d20 + 20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 20 + 9 = 32
It is a DC32 Perception Check to pinpoint the exact location of the creature otherwise it is a 20% chance to hit it.
Everyone may take their turn now.

Briana Kaddren |
"Urgh...I'm fine, don't let her get away!" Briana cries, staring up at the ceiling with wide eyes as she attempts to figure out where Alizna has scuttled off to. She raises her mace and attempts to swing at what she thinks might be sound and movement above her.
Attack (MW Light Mace): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Chance to Hit (20%): 1d100 ⇒ 76
Briana can't make the Perception check, so she's just taking a shot in the dark, as it were. *edit* Hit chance rolled! Next!

Ziomarra Callinovo |

"La naiba! A dispărut!"
Ziomarra casts another spell, while holding a Harrow card from her spell deck over one eye. Both her eye and the card glow with a faint blue light. She then scans the ceiling as if looking through the card.
Casts detect magic, looking for magical auras on the ceiling. On the third round, she should be able to tell which square Aliza is in.

Joanna Whitehall |

"Great," Joanna says, obviously dismayed at the tactic. She listens carefully for a moment before striking out.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Miss Chance (81-100 Hits): 1d100 ⇒ 90
The young paladin gives a sigh of annoyance as she stabs where she hears the scuttling and heavy breathing, and finds her sword only hitting wood.

Teldon Moore |

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 10 + (3) = 16 drat
"It's seems to be some kind of invisibility spell but I couldn't tell which one..." Teldon reports with some frustration. Then he listens carefully to the skittering when it comes...
perception: 1d20 + 12 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 12 + (1) = 16 and, that's why he takes 10 whenever the situation allows, smh
Failing to pinpoint her movement he angrily makes his best possible guess and stabs up at the ceiling...
longspear: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
...hitting nothing.
"Dammit, cover all the exits so she can't escape!" he calls out, standing up a little straighter in the doorway he's been blocking.

GM Zed |

Staying close to the door to prevent the escape of the spider creature, none of the friends have any luck whilst swinging their weapons at the ceiling. For a second or two, after the fury of combat, everything seems still… and then a door at the western end of the room, located just beyond a debris-covered worktop and a badly damaged partition wall, creaks open…
Note that Joanna is still entangled within the Web / 2 rounds until Ziomarra’s ‘Detect Evil’ enables her to establish the location of any auras.

Teldon Moore |

sorry, I'm a little unclear... you're saying the door on the west side of the room that only Briana and I are in just swung open? Did I feel anything push by me into this room (from the east) or is my best guess that some new/additional threat is arriving?

Teldon Moore |

sh!t
Teldon yanks out one of the scrolls stored in the loops of his explorer's outfit, unfurls it from its protective casing, and does his best to read it correctly under pressure...
UMD: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26 cast see invisibility
Dropping the spent scroll, he points and calls out, "There she is!"

GM Zed |

Seeing with unparalleled vision, Teldon watches as Alizna - still clinging to the ceiling - becomes visible once more... Not watching the friends, 'it' appears to be doing something at the wall to the north of the opened door...
I have put Alizna back on the map / Teldon can point out her position and folks can make attacks against her (although it still benefits from concealment against everyone except Teldon: 50% miss chance).

Briana Kaddren |
Opting to keep the way clear for Joanna and those that stand a better chance of cutting the spider-woman down, Briana holds her position and reaches out to place a hand on Teldon's shoulder. "Բերել նրան ներքեւ, Դուք կարող եք դա անել!"
"Bring her down, you can do it!"
Casting Guidance on Teldon!

Joanna Whitehall |

I thought it was a DC 14 to bust the web? Is that not the case?I made a Strength Check last round before she turned invisible and got a 14 on it.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

Guided by her half-perception of the aura of Alizna's invisibilty spell, and Teldon's guidance, Zee hurls a Harrow card at her best guess of the spider-thing's position.
Ranged attack: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10
Miss chance (50%): 1d100 ⇒ 26
damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3
EDIT: That would appear to be a miss!
The card slices through empty space, then suddenly banks to the left and flutters back to Zee's hand.

Joanna Whitehall |

Joanna, guided by Teldon's pointing, stabs up at the spot the spider-thing should be in.
Move under the space Teldon is pointing to, then stab up.
Stabbity: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Not even going to bother with the other rolls.

GM Zed |

Realising that she has been discovered and is seemingly backed into a corner, Alizna hisses and bites at Joanna… as she does so, she phases back into view…
Alizna is no longer invisible
Alizna, Bite vs Joanna: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20, hitting for 1d6 ⇒ 3 plus Poison
Joanna takes a further 2 poison damage and must make a DC14 Fortitude Save to avoid a worsened condition
Everyone may take their turn now – Alizna has an AC of 20 (Touch 13) and 6HP left

Arsith D' Abariane |

Attack, Msw Wpn, WF, PA: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 22
dmg, PA: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5
Arsith acts quickly, hits the creature but she doesn't manage to kill it.

Ziomarra Callinovo |

"There you are!"
Zee flings another card at the creature.
Ranged attack, into melee: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 20
damage: 1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 1 = 3

GM Zed |

With Ziomarra's flung card embedding in its skull, Alizna finally lets out a death croak and, limbs quivering, drops from the ceiling... crashing against Joanna as it falls. Listening and holding still for a moment, it appears that no-one is coming to Alizna's aid and there is time to examine the 'horticultural laboratory' in this room...
An examination of the plants growing in the room reveals a large collection of poisonous mushrooms and other strange fungi, including several containers of pale blue mold that have been labelled with a skull and crossed bones.
Also present here are four strange puffball-like spore cases, gray and the size of a man’s fist - among these four sits a fifth, recently emptied spore case.
Despite its disgusting use and rustic appearance, this room contains a masterwork alchemy laboratory kit and many vials of useful fluids and unguents, including:
- 8 doses of blue whinnis poison,
- 5 vials of alchemist’s fire,
- 2 potions of shield of faith +2,
- 2 potions of neutralise poison,
- and a potion of cure moderate wounds.
Looking into the room to the west, the room that Alizna seemed to be scuttling towards - This windowless room is lit by a single brass lantern hanging from a rusty nail on the northern wall. Dozens, perhaps hundreds of moths crawl throughout the ceiling’s rotting rafters and on the moldering curtains of boarded windows, the disturbance of their movements causing eerie shadows to wiggle on every surface. Old floorboards have been ripped up in the room’s corner, allowing a flight of earthen steps to lead down into the ground... to a cellar or some other subterranean space.

Teldon Moore |

know:nature (take 10): 10 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + 9 + (1) = 20
know:planes (take 10): 10 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + 8 + (4) = 22
"Here, drink this." Teldon says with some relief, handing one of the neutralize poison potions to Briana. "These spore cases hold the seeds to grow qlippoths... We should probably destroy them. The empty one is likely from the pig; I don't believe they're powerful enough to reanimate Alizna. I suppose we should destroy her remains just to be safe. The rest of this we should take with us. And it wouldn't hurt to check the strongbox before going down in case it contains anything useful..."
He makes his way back to the earlier room and, being careful not to step on the broken pieces of floor, moves to the strongbox and inspects it for traps...
perception (take 10): 10 + 13 + 1d6 ⇒ 10 + 13 + (5) = 28

Briana Kaddren |
Briana accepts the potion gratefully and drinks it down. "Blech...you'd think that if a person can create things to stop poison in its tracks and explode on impact, they'd be able to make it at least taste appetizing," she grimaces. "And I'm all for destroying those qlippoth seeds; I have no desire to repeat the pig experience. Is anyone else hurt? I still have some healing magic remaining for today if we need it."
As the group quickly sorts through the rest of the alchemical items, she hurries after Teldon as he attempts to reach and examine the strongbox. "Wait, shouldn't we tie a rope around you? If those boards break, who knows where you'll end up!"
Hope everyone is okay with Briana using one of the Neutralize Poison potions. As to the other stuff, she wouldn't say no to carrying a vial or two of the alchemist's fire but most of the other stuff seems like it might be better suited for our frontliners.

GM Zed |

Edging across the floor, stepping to the stronger boards whenever it seems that the floor is about to give away, Teldon makes his way across the room and, after confirming it isn't trapped, opens the strongbox. Even in the dim light of the farmhouse, the gold in the box gleams with a warm glow - various items of jewellery; brooches, rings and necklaces, have been carelessly heaped into the box...

Joanna Whitehall |

Fort: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Joanna pulls herself out from under the corpse, her teeth clenched in a grimace as one of her hands holds the wound on her shoulder. Her entire body trembles as she stands up and leans against the wall.
"Well," she says with a weak smile, "That didn't go too badly."
Joanna is rather shaken at the moment. Though she's trying to hide it.
The wound on her shoulder isn't life threatening, but if it had been just a few inches over, she'd have been hurt rather badly. As it is, she's looking pretty ragged.

Arsith D' Abariane |

Take 10 in SM for total 16
Silently, Arsith comes close to Joanna, gives her a lenghty hug while stroking her hair gently, and calls fervently on Pharasma's favor to heal her friend's wounds
CLW, PH blessing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 *1.5=7.5 Hp, rounded to 8?
Do you want me to check your wounds, dear? I got my healing kit, and could at least clean them..

Briana Kaddren |
Sense Motive (DC 16): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Relieved to see Teldon make it over to the strongbox without crashing through the floor, she turns her attention back to the others, giving Arsith a knowing look as the warpriest tends to their friend's wounds. "Yes, we're all here and in one piece," she says reassuringly. "Let's take a moment to catch our breath and then we should see what's in the cellar. Considering all the noise we made just now, anyone or anything nearby would've either joined the fight or fled so hopefully there won't be any further surprises!"

Joanna Whitehall |

"Hopefully," Joanna agrees, "I--I'm sorry you are having to look after me like this," she adds, "I've exhausted what I can do to heal my own wounds, but I can help get myself patched up."

Teldon Moore |

Teldon dumps the treasures unceremoniously into his sack and then rushed back to the others as quickly as he can move safely. When he gets back he tries, weakly, not to scowl when he discovers that nobody has packed up the alchemy equipment. Grabbing the vials he says, "I hope very much that you're right but the magic that lets me see invisible things will only last about two more minutes, so we should try to move quickly in case anything is lying in wait... we can grab the rest of this equipment on the way out..."

GM Zed |

Taking Briana's suggestion...
Pushing past the thick webbing that coats the staircase down to the cellar, the friends descend...
The walls of the low-ceilinged basement that they discover beneath the farmhouse are decorated by curtains; curtains made out of a mix of thick sheets of webs adorned with countless dead insects. Most of these are flies and mosquitoes, some of which are quite large. At the far end of the room sits a low wooden table on which a hideous shape crouches—a human-sized statue of an insectile monster made from corn husks, dry branches, rags, and bones. The floor of the room is an uneven layer of moist soil and earth, and three shovels, their blades caked with earth, lean against the side of the stairs.
