Dyrant nods at Atol.
"Exactly, Atol. Or they could be mixed into the gristle stew to add a nice earthy aroma. Delicious. I wish I had a bowl of gristle stew right now." Dyrant says offhandedly to Atol while the ugly bags of mostly water finish off the 'shrooms. "Looks like they are done, Atol. Let us press on."
Dyrant ponders for a moment.
"I think the cell steps would be more appropriate for us. Let's go that way."

Toffitt nods at Dyrant's suggestion and follows Glim down to the gaol. "Nice teamwork in there, Glim. Soon all of the mushroom people of the world will know to fear our wrath."
Once (and if) they reach the gaol, Toffitt will look for traps or ways to lift the gate.
"Shall we just lift it? Perhaps Finn could take central point and Glim and I can help."

The party is able to open the portcullis and head down the stairs. The steps descend about 20' and the narrow 5' passageway continues on for another 20' before turning left. The passageway then slopes down slightly leading to murky water. A room up ahead is lit by a floating brazier in the northwest corner containing an obviously magical flame, has all manner of torture implements: shelves with scalpels, thumbscrews, a large jar of salt, and a well-oiled stretching rack. Manacles hang from the ceiling. The room is 20'x25' and the passageway continues through on the opposite side.
Water is a few feet deep. I'm presuming people are still looking in from the hallway.

Aralynn will release a glubbery sigh and move into the room, flying high on the ceiling and looking about.

Tingling with the sensation this is truly a real-bad-do-badder, Glimmil drops his lance in favor of his shiny hammer and begins swinging away at the shambling frog-man.
Smitin' time! Not sure if I can attack from a paralyzed Cog or need to dismount. If dismounting needed, Glim tries a fast dismount or uses a move action and doesn't get his second iterative attack.

Glimmil nudges Cog with his heels to move this way and that as usual, but Cog just stares ahead. Consequently Glimmil's swings lack the power to do any damage to the flaming kuo-toa. Finneas also has problems finding a good way to swing with Glimmil & Cog below him and Toffitt above him on the ceiling.
Without any distractions or odd arrangements of allies, the kuo-toa smashes Glimmil with his fist.

I believe Glimmil's AC is 27 with the smite. If he stayed on the unmoving Cog, it would be another -4. In any case, the 30 will hit.

Finneas misses out on his chance to add undead kuo-toa to his list of frog kills as Toffitt and Glimmil make short work of the monster already damaged by Dyrant.
A search of the area reveals nothing and the passage ahead curves around and ends at a secret door to the statue room.
