Robert Findlay |
Robert stands by the entrance, ready to burn an undead if it nears, so long as he can exclude his allies from the blast zone.
Burning Hands = 2d4 + alchemist fire 1d6 burn in a 15' cone.
Big OM |
@ Stanislav I might have used a wrong translation, in Denmark we a year after graduating med. school in two different wards before moving on with our specialzation mine were infectious diseases and cardiac-thoracic surgery.
Stanislav I think I missed your action this round?
Zombie will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Nadine's attempt to control the undead causes the corpse to turn towards her but she realises that she is not in control. Vank quickly closes the 30 ft. separating him from the monster, the movement however throws his aim and he strike the stone floor besides it. Robert just slips into the room ready for what might come.
Stanislav Greymist |
Was waiting on that will save. :)
Stanislav moves to where he can reach at least one other coffin and attacks the one standing from 10' away.
Glaive-Guisarme: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 121d10 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
He wants to make sure that any that approach him will provoke an attack.
Vank Stormfist |
Not sure if I'm out of order. Did the zombie (or what ever they are) do anything? If I am out of turn these rolls still can be used later.
Vank starts to circle around the creature to allow others the oppotunity to flnk while he swings. (5ft step and attack)
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 5 + 1 = 20 Divine favour
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 + 1 = 12 Divine favour
Big OM |
I just ditched you for a week, I am sorry.
Nadine you can use Bonethrall again.
Robert you'll have to move closer and to the side if you want to use Burning Hands and not hit allies.
Looking it over I think Nadine and Vank are a round ahead, while I am waiting for Robert and Thomas to decide if they want to pass this round. Let me know what you want to do. Nadine and Vank, You can keep the action you have written or choose another one when round 2 begins.
Big OM |
Yes Thomas you can make an attack, please include it in your round 2 post.
Saving against burning hands: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Circling Vank, Thomas and Stanislav Robert get the right angle and unleashes a minor magic inferno. The undead stands tall completely unaffected by the flames, it's moist clothing and flesh extinguish the flames. Almost as if invigorated by the flames the monster strikes Vank with a overhead blow. The rusted axe bites deeply in his left shoulder and on his strong conditioning keeps him from vomitting as nausea rushes through his system.
Attacking Vank: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Vank saving against nausea: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Round 2 begin
Nadine hastily retreats behind Stanislav granting him a boon from Robbie as she passes. Answering steel with steel Vank's great sword almost sewers the right arm of the walking dead as he to strikes from the high position. The sounds intensify from on of the other coffins...
So this is round 2 and Nadine and Vank has acted.
Thomas Glint |
Round 1 Attack
Once in position, Thomas makes a stab at the thing.
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5+2 if flanking
The strike went wide, and he cursed under his breath.
Round 2 Attack
Thomas readied both blades and stabbed forward.
Melee Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17+2 if flanking
Damage 1: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Sneak & Murder if applicable: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4
Melee Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20+2 if flanking
Damage 2: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Sneak & Murder if applicable: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7
Stanislav Greymist |
Stanislav tries again to strike the undead thing down.
Glaive-Guisarme: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 1 = 241d10 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
I will be traveling tomorrow and over the weekend for my son's wedding. Posting may be sparse. And then next week I am canoeing with scouts Wednesday afternoon though the following Sunday and may have a signal some of the time with my phone. Bot me as required if I am too slow to respond.

Big OM |
Robert will have to post later.
Both of Thomas' blades buried deeply into the undead flesh, that however didn't seem to hinder it, at least until he drew them apart slashing completing what Vank began severing not only arm but also spine. The now truly dead collapsed like a sack of potatoes.
While this allowed for a short pause to breath, the danger wasn't over as another coffin burst open and a what could be a brother to the first undead rose. Crawling to its feet some 15 ft. away the creature wrestled a large axe free from the wooden planks that was once its coffin.
Sorry Stanislav no opponent's alive this turn.
Round 3 begin
Stanislav Greymist |
Stanislav's goal was to move to be near the coffins so that when one stands it provokes from his reach. This is his build and what he does. Can Its a relatively small room. Can he get his AOO? If he has no opponent he will move and ready to attack, choosing to be near as many coffins as he can be.
Robert, you could shield of faith Vank or Stanislav. Or you can use CLW offensively as a touch attack. Not sure either make good sense.
Big OM |
Stanislav - How about we use your attack roll from last turn as AoO and place you within ranged of the undead that rose in the end round 2?
The last of round 2
Turning towards the living the first thing that greets the Draugr is a gliave nearly severing it head as Stanislav execute his ambush.
Round 3
Just as the undead twisted its head away from the glaive it runs passive the axe rest on the ground, the creature unmoving awaiting Nadine's command.
Saving against Bonethrall: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Nadine I keep forgetting, is Robbie real or a product of her mental illness. What did we agree upon?
Vank Stormfist |
More correctly Nadine took control of the the undead you hit.
Is the undead clearly under Nadines control?
Nadine Laveau |
No worries, Nadine should be able to release him when the time comes. Or he might just die, fighting his friends.
Nadine cackles as she feels the zombie's control come to her. "Good boy, Robbie!" She looks at the others. "He's under my control now. He'll obey me."
She looks at the moving corpse. "Now, let's stop your friends, shall we? Hack open the other coffins and destroy the corpses inside."
See Discussion thread for the Robbie talk
Stanislav Greymist |
Stanislav positions himself 10' away from the coffins. If he cannot reach them all he stands ready to move based on any noise he hears or movement he sees. Basically he tries to be in position to take both readied attacks and AOO when the things stand or move towards them.
Vank Stormfist |
Vank raises his sword to hit the undead but Nadine's cry stops him. effortlessly he pivots and smashs through the lid of the nearest coffin in an attempt to hit the creature below it..
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8
Damage: 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 5) + 6 + 1 = 17
Big OM |
Without hesitation the Draugr under Nadine's command moves to one of the other coffins. As if it knows what to expect it brings the heavy axe down crushing wood and bones below it.
While Stanislav only moves closer to one of the coffins Vank is more direct in his approach. Moving with the Draugr to the same coffin, he fails to cleave more than wood.
Draugr Attacking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Stanislav, I am not entirely sure I understand your post. You can move to the coffin that makes the most noise and ready an attack to take place when the undead stand. You can decide if you want to take that or the AoO first. But you can only prepare one attack.
Vank you have the option of making another attack in round 4
Stanislav Greymist |
Sure. 1 readied attack. Plus 1 attack from the AOO as the creature stands. Are we on the same page?
Vank Stormfist |
Vank looks at thomas looking a little confused for moment then swings his sword down again.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 1 = 11 +2 for flank on an object that isn't moving?
Damamge: 2d6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 + 1 = 11 +1 for murdering trait on a non living object?
I am away again this weekend, then again the following weekend, and then again the following weekend for a week, although for the last one I'll have phone coverage and enough time to make short posts. Feel free to bot Vank.
Nadine Laveau |
Nadine laughs and spins around as she watches the undead chop into the coffins of his friends. She seems drunk with the power of having this corpse under her control. With each satisfying chop of the axe, she claps her together. She follows along and gives Vank a small blessing of power.
Nadine - Round 3: Revel in power.
Nadine - Round 4: Guidance on Vank
Dragur - Round 3&4: Move to the next coffin and chop into it. Ensuring the corpse is completely destroyed.
Big OM |
Draugr continuing attacking: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
The Draugr continues its attack on the same coffin as if to comply with the orders. Nadine this is the round 4 action, the first attack was round 3
As predicted the coffin you have gathered around is soon sundered as another Drauger attempts to raise.
And that should trigger some readied action I believe. This is the end of Round 4, let see if it survives.
Thomas Glint |
Action Triggered
Briefly protecting his eyes from flying splinters, Thomas raised both blades and stabbed down.
Melee Attack 1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Damage 1 (Sneak Attack + Murder): 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (6) + 1 = 13
Melee Attack 2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage 2 (Sneak Attack + Murder): 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + (5) + 1 = 11
Critical confirmation: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
If that's a confirmation, extra damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Damn! Pretty decent rolls.
Stanislav Greymist |
Stanislav takes his readied attack at the first sight of the thing. He will be flanking with Thomas if possible.
MW Glaive Guisarme: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 91d10 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
The sudden appearance of the creature caught the man just slightly off guard, but Stanislav takes a second swing at the creature stands, provoking from him while the creature is still prone.
MW Glaive Guisarme: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 4 = 311d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
MW Glaive Guisarme, Confirm?: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 4 = 202d10 + 18 ⇒ (5, 3) + 18 = 26
No bonus was added for flanking. +4 is for the creature being prone. If for some reason that does not apply, just remove it.
Big OM |
I am not entirely sure I understand your calculations Stanislav, Shouldn't you static multiplier be higher on the critical?
The last undead barely leaves it coffin before the combined might of Thomas and Stanislav ends its unlife. While Thomas' short swords pierce the back severing many of the ligaments holding the spine in position Stanislavs glaive slashes across the skull cutting it in half.
This is the end of the combat as Nadine controls the remaining Draugr. Just a reminder there are two doors on in the western and one in the eastern wall besides the secret door you entered through.
Stanislav Greymist |
The Glaive Guisarme, like most spears and pole arms crits only on a 20, but is a X3 multiplier. I had rolled 1d10+9 for the power attack with the initial roll. The confirm roll added two more d10s and double the strength/power attack. Total would be 3d10+27. Right? Note that with Furious Focus there is no penalty for the first hit when power attacking so Stanislav always power attacks, unless he is flat footed. In that case I play that he has not had the chance to declare it yet and take a regular swing.
Stanislav Greymist |
Lets make a quick search of this room. Stanislav says as he watches the two western doors. Then I believe we must go west.
