Robert Findlay |

Did I? I didn't remember.
Taking the patch of the window from the handkerchief, he applies it to the portcullis, near to ground level.
"Set the beasts on him?" He looks to the team's new houndmaster.

Big OM |

With the dogs tied to a cast iron ring on the wall of the building all attention is turned to Robert as he steps to the portcullis. The guard raises the lantern trying to shine some light on Robert while he fiddles with the handkerchief. Getting the window free he slaps it to the metal bars. The metals start to ripple and slowly but surely it changes into wood and the wood grows to a frame with glass. The guard looks on in disbelieve. "What?" he says surprised.
The size of the window allows you to squish through, but not normal movement.

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanlislav steps up to the bars with his reach weapon, ready to defend the others as they go through.

Thomas Glint |

Thomas calmly walked up to the bars, looked carefully at the guard, and threw his dagger at the man.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 4 - 2 = 22
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 2 = 18
Pretty sure that's a confirm. Damage: 1d4 + 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (4) + (5) = 10
I just had a feeling I was going to get a crit.

Stanislav Greymist |

Once Robert is through Stanislav follows him while motioning for the others to follow.

Nadine Laveau |

Nadine, who has been hanging back to avoid spoiling the surprise, now walks up briskly. Irena continues to hang back. "Quickly, through the window," she hisses, following Robert through the gate. She prepares to entrance the guard coming out.
Ready to cast Daze if he exits the gatehouse.

Big OM |

I believe that the rest of the group is at the other end of the bridge unless you moved closer. I might be mistaking.
The guard is to preoccupied with his gushing neckwound to bother with a man going through a magic window and the three slips through without any problems. Standing on the other side of the gate you hear a dog beginning to growl and soon after it appears with another guard in the doorway. "Quiet Rex. G+~ d+# it Allan I asked what happening," he asks and then spots the bleeding man and the three of you.
Allan regains some composure and hurries to his friend. Both now standing by the doorway some 15 ft. away
Initiative:
Allan 19
Stanislav 18
Robert 16
Thomas 12
The other guard and the dog 7
Allan: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
The other guard: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Dog goes here
Stanislav: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Robert: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Thomas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Stanislav Greymist |

Holding the glaive in both hands Stanislav moves around so that he threatens both the "other" guard and the dog and strikes at the flat footed dog, bringing the weapon down in a powerful two handed stroke. Sorry pup. he says as he strikes.
Glaive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d10 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
The goal in moving is to offer Thomas a flank while cutting off the guards from retreat.

Vank Stormfist |

About 120 feet maybe plus a bit depending on our hiding spot.
Vank follows Nadine across.

Big OM |

Vank is right. Lets just say 120 ft. to the portcullis for simplicity.
Stanislav cuts the poor dog where it stands, as Thomas closes in, after passing the portcullis.
I'll let Robert post later and retcon as needed.
Seeing the slaughter of the dog the other guard stes closer and swing his sword in a wide arc cutting Stanislav's right arm.
Attacking Stanislav: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
I am not sure if you get an AoO Stanislav, but he steps 5ft. closer to you and strikes.

Stanislav Greymist |

No AOO for me. I thought about that and considered readying but I did not want to risk the dog pulling Thomas or Rob down.

Vank Stormfist |

Round 2
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Vank moves slowly over the bridge expecting the combat to be over by the time he reaches the far end of the bridge at the end of the round.

Stanislav Greymist |

Depending on initiative, Stanislav wants to flank with Thomas to help him get sneak on the other guard and then go in looking for Allan.
Glaive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 181d10 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Big OM |

Stanislav's glaive catches the poor guard at a bad position and nearly severs his shield arm. Thomas doesn't manage to follow up on the strike and a profoundly bleeding guard withdraw into the guard house following his colleague.
A horn blown two times following each other can be heard.
Next round, both guard are inside the building.
Initiative:
Allan 19
Stanislav 18
Robert 16
Thomas 12
The other guard and the dog 7
Vank 3

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislav will drop his glaive and pull the masterwork longsword as he enters the building. He will close on the closest guard and cut the man down if movement allows.
Longsword in both hands: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d8 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Big OM |

The glaive clatters on the stone bridge as Stanislav drops it and goes hunting. In side the room the to guards stand by a table on has his sword raised in a feeble attempt to defend them while the other, Allan, tries to gather enough air in his lounges to blow the horn again. Stanislav slams the blade aside and cuts the man down in the backstroke. Turning to Allan, the second sounding of the horn is cut short by a stap to the chest and he also falls.
Stepping outside he notices that the rest of the escapees have caught up and the five of you stands on the right side of Branderscar's portcullis. The night isn't as young as it has been and there were some place you had to be.
160 xp each
EDIT: an additional 160 xp each

Vank Stormfist |

"Lets get moving, it is likely that anyone who would respond to that horn blast is already dead but incase we are very unlucky let put as much space between us and here." Noticing how small the gap in the portcullis is he looks for a way to open it and let Grumblejack through.

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislav leaves the looting to Robert as he sheathes his sword and moves to retrieve the hounds and his glaive. Get what is useful there he recommends. and let us be off.
Its been so long, I have forgotten if we had a plan - some place to flee to…?

Vank Stormfist |

From about post 25: Thomas was told
“If you manage that, cross the moors on the outskirts of town. On the old Moor Road you’ll see a manor house with a single lantern burning in the second story. There our mutual friend waits. That is all I know. He did want me to give you this.”
I forget if he told anyone else.
Did Nadine leave the serving girl at the far end of the bridge and did Grumblejack follow us.
Once everyone has done any quick looting Vank will set off in the lead. The route he takes is off the road but following it.

Nadine Laveau |

Nadine rushes up to the gate to see Stanislav exitsing wiping the blood off his blade. She smiles. "Excellent work, Commander. I assume our guards have been taken care of?"
When Nadine sees the bodies and is able to cross the gate she calls out for Irena to come. When she nears the gate, Nadine says to her, "Well, Irena. Now that I'm outside the prison, it seems our deal is done. You have served me very well and I would love to have you as my personal attendant. However, a deal is a deal. You are free to go if you wish."

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislav is trained in survival but not great at it. He will offer to lead or to help.
Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Vank Stormfist |

One Stanislav takes to lead and looks like he knows what he is doing Vank will fall in behind him. Could make aid roll but seems pointless now he has more than 15

Nadine Laveau |

Nadine is little help in these unknown woods.

Big OM |

Anyone needing an animal companion from a class feature?
Orientating himself by the stars Stanislav sets of inland. The journey takes you fairly fast away from the coastal plains near Branderscar and into the moors. The multiple crossing streams and wed ground slows you down and it is quite a strenuous walk.
A perception check please DC=: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
I am away from the 5th to the 8th.

Vank Stormfist |

Vanks walks quietly beside his new companions. He is always looking around, making the most of his superior eye sight in this light. He also seems spend a little time looking at each of the escapees and sizing them up.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16
No problem, I'll be away from the 23rd to the 8th, although atleast some of that time I'll have internet

Stanislav Greymist |

Stanislave is focused on the dogs he leads as he moves forward.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Nadine Laveau |

Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

As you walk by a larger pool of brackish water Vank hears a plop beside you and Nadine notices movement.
A split second later a large scarred green toad launches itself from the pool and lands beside you.

It might not be aggressive, but why give a chance to prove either way?
Vank charges the creature and swings [ooc]Going to assume a partial charge, if he can 5ft step ignore the +2 to attack[/dice]
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 = 17
Damage: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9

Nadine Laveau |

Nadine quickly backs away from the toad. "Oh, what a disgusting creature! Kill it! Perhaps someone can make me a nice handbag." She twirls her fingers and casts a spell on the frog.
"Shush, Robbie, it's far too big to keep as a pet!"
Back away 20 feet, then cast Daze. DC 15 Will save.
