Oh, for those of you who don't check the character sheets all the time, characters that took combat moves increased their damage die, and characters at level 0 have increased carrying capacity to match their archetype.

So Kyrillosr has 1d6 for damage.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Out of cuiousity, does with only my court (Currently Myxis and Zell) count as alone (Say, if we brought someone in for initiation?)

[Sheets] [Map]

It is one way to conduct business. It carries with it a certain flavor of risk, but so does anything else. It's all in who you need privacy from. If those around you are in your support/thrall, the move will still trigger, mechanically. I think the heart of the move is that the target has no one to tap for willpower or protection.

too much?

Amazing the things you get when you give someone the ability to create truths... "Racially agressive" women in glass houses and all that. Not sure I'm comfortable applying mechanics to a yo momma joke. Let's leave it as the sick burn that it is.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

I'm not sure if I want Imazael to toe the Villain line, or straight up cross it... hmmm.

Then I assume my character's family aren't the most racially hated in our fiction either. It's a pretty powerful neg.

I'm fine playing either way, but it has to be a two sided street

Slight difference between establishing a prejudice and establishing historic justification of racial superiority.

I'm not going to watch you guys escalate this much further...

Writing a post...

Say...there's some terrible implications of what you've written which would reinvent dwarves as a whole significantly.
If that were true and things were followed through on, Muirkhom wouldn't exist, and I'm pretty sure dwarves would be relegated to NPC status since they'd lack the faculties to be usable as a PC.

I'd have less of an issue with NPC dumber-than-animal dwarves if I hadn't built my character significantly around being a dwarf.

I have been very cognoscente about not stepping on other peoples fiction. It would have never occurred to me to write the move had I not seen yours.

In a game of PC's being competitive, You're negging my character's allies was a masterful strategic move. While mine pales in comparison, it did make me giggle while writing it.

I think the issue is that There was narrative justification, based on gnomish action, for the Slavers accusation, whereas the Sheep-shagging inbreds was kinda.. out of left field, and didn't fully mesh with the dwarves we've seen thus far (And in honesty, the acronym didn't help your case. do lets keep it classy.)

perhaps a different phrasing to a similar effect (Addled by tunnel fumes, took a cave-in to the head, clearly has cognitive impairment from a crippling vitamin D deficiency) would be better?

I guess I won't be invited to speak at Berkeley.

Strategy? That was a spur of the moment thing. I'm not trying to compete with anyone or snipe or anything.
Though seriously, if we're talking impact, yours would be a lot worse if it was enacted. Geez, that was ruthless.

I'm just running on some things that occur to me OOC and a lot of putting down whatever comes to mind.
But I'd at least hope I'd have enough presence of mind to add things that have effects on others, and but not things that drastically reshape them. That isn't a thing you just do to someone, since it can invalidate everything that precedes the event and force them to change a lot going forward.

From the tone of your post, It sounds like my post had an emotional impact on you, the player.

Please believe that was not my intent. I honestly thought you as a player would laugh at it's ridiculousness. And I was sure the GM would not let anything pass that made your character untenable.

I'm here to have fun, and I'd hope that you'd be able to give the benefit of the doubt as I do you

I guess it kinda did. More so as I thought it through. Hell, thinking it through is why I had such a problem.

I appreciate what you're saying. I know well enough about things not being received as intended.

When you're getting into this level of stuff, I'm currently reminded of a particular phrase - it's funny as long as it isn't happening to you. I might have taken that better had it not been about dwarves. Can't say anything for anyone else's sense of humour.

I'd appreciate it if you'd run something like this by me first next time? Or perhaps it'd be better addressed by everyone? It's easy for things to cause more problems than you thought they would. Different comfort levels and such.

Certainly, and I'll expect the same from you as well

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

To be 100% clear: Pimrin will come with me, at least as far as the bell-tower, and we can get there, if we leave the unconscious woman? or did I miss something?

Pimrim is following you as long as you are leaving now.

If you leave Filaurel alone in the belltower, she'll disappear.

Zell expects you to at least change your mind and leave her with the other villagers, Myxis thinks you should bring her.

You can safely move to any room in the cathedral if you can describe how to get there.

Traveling outside of the cathedral will need a set of Perilous Journey rolls. Pimrim or Myxis can scout, quartermaster, or trailblaze, taking a 7. Zell can quartermaster at an auto-10.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Did I just kidnap a god? I think I kidnapped a god.

also I haven't decided if the unconscious one is another conspirator, or a snack. I'm taking suggestions.

Gullible Male Thug Dwarf Pilgrim | Lvl 0 | XP - 0/7 | HP: 11/12 | Armour - Faith | Damage - 1d4 | STR 1 | DEX 0 | CON 2 | INT 0-1 (Stunned) | WIS 0 | CHA 0

They could conspire to get you snacks.

She's a soothsayer and has successfully left a dangerous area without trying too hard. She'll automatically succeed at saying sooths.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

I think conspirator. Do I get any initiation bonus for saving her life?

Also, how many more people before it counts as an entourage?

She's dhampir. Make it about the families and bank that "+1 Forward to Phraanz or Imazael acting on the dead Lontash sympathizer that had the dagger."

Three or four will do.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

pkay, she is a dhampir soothsayer, is this Filaurel.

also, why are Filaurel and Pimrin's stats purple

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think I might have mentioned a female with no weapon at least. I hoped a few other details might have popped up... I remember having trouble spelling the name.

So I can find them, and keep them separate... I think Myxis and Zell are also purple. It could have been any color, really. Even your favorite color.

also, just out of curiosity, for no reason, totally not a likely occurrence, but say something happened and one 0f our Dhampir characters decided to get all intimate with someone's arteries, what move would that be?

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Cannibalism
When you consume a portion of a willing or helpless target significant enough to count as a ration, but carefully enough to keep them alive, they mark an appropriate debility until the portion is restored.

That sound about right?

There may, at times, be defy danger rolls associated with "carefully".

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

On the topic of Myxis... How attached are you, cucumber? I'm willing to take you up on highs-lows, or we could make bastion design a custody hearing move.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Also, to clarify on the question posed in my promp, I wouldn't mind telling the story, but could I get some parameters, just so that I don't step on your toes/take too many liberties.

I see it as Ginger for Myxis. All yours

[Sheets] [Map]

I'm the one with GM veto powers.

The established setting is a forest filled with undead curse and elemental forces with a giant castle full of dhampir, drow, gnomes, and unloved castaways. There are big, scary things in the forest. The river is not exactly placid either what with the mermen. Something blew up. The villagers chased an elemental into a gothic chapel. Quoth the raven nevermore. Lassiter used the circumstances to become godlike under the pretense of fixing the Flux which seems to be something like the Nothing in the Never-ending Story. There seems to have been a back-staby coup among dhampir families. The gnomes are trying to recharge their magitech armor with espers elementals, one of whom was at some point the village's executioner. Krenin is becoming something sinister. No one can remember when the Flux started, only that it made things more confusing than they are now.

Also, because so many dhampir have died, Imazael is heir-aparent. ... or maybe Gul. Gul's the one that killed the previous leader's father... I'm sure there won't be any conflict there.

Weirdly, the racial makeup of the villagers has another oddity: a duplicity of cat people defined by ear-characteristics. I dunno how far you wanna take the housecat thing, but they'll have to be moved toward the middle of the race chart if we canonize their commodity.

Did I miss anything big?

Oh, gold makes you a zombie.

Aaaaand go!

I can throw in a memory to twist the frame a little, if you'd like

okay, sounds good. If it is all right with you, I think I'll start playing up the aspects that my entourage will have (specifically, Feuding, hedonistic, skilled in crime and diplomacy, and i'll work out accouterments later)

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

I will add the scenes with the other players soon, but as that post was already a freaking novel...

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Fair warning: in the next encounter, I will be actively trying to kill characters. A plurality of them. (I mean, you guys need that EOS xp, right?) I've thrown out hints, but the denizens of the forest are upset... and some are "much larger than a cart". They won't be insensible like the almsbies or prisoners, but you'll want to be very sure you have leverage if you're going to parley.

After that session, though, we'll collaborate on a new set of session goals to fit the whims of the heroes that survive.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

brilliant...

on a scale of 1-10, how tasty do these things find dwarves/can I spout lore to make peasants delicious?

To my knowledge, they are not known to eat. Imazael should have a particular advantage against the worst of the planned mobs, but per the usual use of the move, you can establish enemy weaknesses and behaviours with Spout Lore. (Which is to say you are welcome to try.)

Not for nothin' but you know we can wear four. Surely otherwise it might go over his head.

Well, It went over my head. Are you saying 2 shackles for the two of us giving +2 armor?

The dhampir had them on their arms and legs.

lol, so does that mean 4 shackles per person for +4 armor? I still don't know if it's a pair of shackles per unit, or a shackle per unit

Each singular shackle is 1wt. Krenin could probably wear one on his neck too...

They're made out of a very brittle metal, though.

I think I tagged the gold hammer with Fragile, should I add that to these too, or are we comfortable with just knowing these two metals are awful for equipment? (The clapper will eventually break too, but I want it to be pretty epic)

If you want to load up one or two individuals as tanks, that's cool.

There will be a custom 2-5 advanced move for using Pushing Pawns through your Entourage. For now, you'll have to bank on Muirkohm's gullibility.

I did start cooking up some thoughts on central conceits for Gulirk and Imazael in the Discontinuity sheet. Once someone makes it to level 1 we'll have to compile a list of advanced moves.

All those sheets are editable. Don't be shy about making changes. If I really don't like it I'll ask... if it looks like someone being funny, I can always revert to a previous version.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Okay. In that case, can i reuse the roll for my next PP roll (Say, the one on Kyrill that is coming up?)

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Also, you've captured Imazael perfectly, especially the last sentence.

Sure.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Aww, no "romeo and juliet", twightlight style (better written, hopefullay) love subplot?

I mean, probably for the best... In all honesty, I'm not sure whose side imazael is on
