Suddenly, a woman’s shrill cry cuts through the chamber music and muted conversation. Across the salon, Senator Naran holds his buxom young wife in his arms after her apparent collapse. As all eyes turn on the unconscious woman, the senator emits an angry cry:
“Poison! Gods, my wife has been poisoned!”
Chaos erupts as people begin screaming and crying out terror. It's absolute madness. The Major grits his teeth and swears under his breath.
Damnit...
However, Lady Dyrianna shoulders her way through and kneels quickly next to the fallen woman, holding out her hands as her eyes flash with divine power.
DESTROUI SAE!
The woman jerks, her body shudder as she coughs out a black fluid, though she doesn't wake. Lady Dyrianna sighs and looks to the Senator.
She will live.
However, panic still reigns in the room as people are being ushered about, servants are running, and general havoc and chaos reigns. The Major scowls and shouts to the pathfinders.
I'll calm the crowd and get Lady Morilla! You lot, hunt down the poisoner!
He dashes off to help handle the chaos. Everything is moving so fast there is almost no time to react. Lady Dyrianna glances around for a moment, calling out for her companion.
Faelyn? Faelyn?! Has anyone seen Faelyn?
At the same time, a serving girl runs up to the team, panting.
Pathfinders! It's Tespren! He needs you, right away, in the drawing room! He said it's very important! You must hurry!

Sadly, the Sense motive is set so high, I don't think even with a nat 20 anyone could have got it. However, I did goof and didn't see Dailung's perception...

The team enters the drawing room upstairs to see Tespren staring down at the table in front of him. He is silent as they move into the room before he suddenly grips the table in front of him, his face shining with sweat as he growls out,
TRAP! IT'S A TRAP!
As the pathfinders snap into battle mode, the warning enough to prevent them from being taken by suprise, they are able to react as two beautiful women with horns and wings appear from nowhere in the room, their nails extending like claws and a sword held in hand. As they appear, the little commander gasps his head in pain, letting out a scream as he smashes his fist on the table with one hand.

Bulgo whirls forward, his knives flashing in the lantern light in the room. His off hand dagger slashes the woman, the cold iron sizzling as it hits, causing her to drop her guard in shock before he drives home a devastating blow right where her kidney's should be. He feels the resistance of the unholy flesh preventing the dagger from going nearly as deep as it should, but he still cuts deep.
As she reals back, Dailung is on her like a Panther, smashing the hilt of her scimitar into the side of her skull, once, then again, the blow landing perfectly on the creature's temple. She slumps to the floor, crashing hard as the sleep of unconsciousness overtakes her.
Her sister howls in fury and holds out a hand to Dailung.
Drop your weapon!

Against her better judgment, the voice of the woman buries into her mind, and she finds her hand lose her grip on her scimitar, dropping it with a clang to the ground. The woman steps up to Dailung, raising her sword to strike the now unarmed pathfinder....

Kargen's arrows streak through the air, slamming into the demon at breakneck speed, almost literally as the demon is whiplashed back. She steps back again, dodging the glowing warhammer that threatened to crush her, only to be beaned by a cold iron bullet. She shakes it off, though she looks woozy as can be... She raises her sword to attack, when darkpaw leaps on her back, driving her to the floor and ripping out chunks of demon flesh. She does not get back up.
Terspen suddenly screams out in pain and goes pale white.

He slumps against the table, his face pale and his body shuddering softly.
COMBAT ENDS! VICTORY!
Freya looks at the unconscious demon and is able to identify it as an Alu-Demon, the daughter of a succubus and a human. This holds up to what seems to be happening to Terspen, which looks like the drain from a succubus's long range removal of her Profane Gift special ability. Alu-demons cannot use profane gift though, only a full-fledged succubus can.

| GM_Starson |
Terspen takes the drink and nods, sipping at it gently. He somehow seems... even smaller than before. Not physically, but as a person. He shakes as he sips and coughs a bit. He looks up at the group and says.
Orielle... She... She came to me... after dinner... said... *Cough*... Said she heard a noise upstairs... was flirting with me... Something happened... My head... She asked if I... If I wanted to be with her...
He coughs and gives a sad grin.
Always liked her. I just... I said yes and then I couldn't move. The she smiled and walked away! I couldn't leave here. Everytime I did, I heard her voice in my head telling me to stand still... She told me to attack you when you walked in the door... Broke her control for a moment to warn you... and then when you killed those... things.... I couldn't hear her anymore, but I feel... gods above and below i feel so sick...
He sips at the alcohol a little bit more and shudders.

Whatcha... Whatcha gonna do about that one? Don't suppose regular manacles will hold a demon...
Kargen Hapspring
|
Kargen looks back at the unconscious demon, having momentarily forgotten about her. "She's a half-demon, right Freya? Half-succubus? That still means she's likely to enslave men and consume their souls." He focuses on her for a moment, peering into the dark empty place where a soul should be. I'm assuming she's evil.
He walks over to her body. "And she can teleport too, right? So it'll be no use trying to hold her once she wakes up. We can't risk her escaping to corrupt and enslave others." He looks up at the others. "I can do it. I'll proclaim her guilty of corruption and evil and execute her. It'll be swift and pain-free. As Hunters, we prefer not to make things suffer. Any objections?"
Kargen nods. He kneels down next to her and whispers a prayer. "Erastil, grant me the strength and aim to end this creature quickly. She has caused pain and suffering as her purpose in this life. I judge her to be an enemy of the faith and a threat to the church. Your people will be safer with her gone."
He touches her for a moment. "I regret this sweetie, but you're too dangerous to even wake up to deliver your sentence." He turns her over, then stands and draws an arrow. He nocks it and aims the bow at the back of her head. A quick release sends the cold iron arrow into her skull with a sickening thud.

Redeeming demons is more of a seeker level thing. :P
The team come back downstairs to see the Major, the Lady, and Damien calming people and advising them to stay put until everything is safe. Damien spots the team and waives over the Major and the Lady. As he approaches, he spots Terspen and gasps.
Terspen, what happened man? Are you alright?
Terspen nods and gives a weak smile.
No worries boss... Got whammied by a demon, but these pathfinder folks saved me. They killed to of them, but one of them is parading around looking like Orielle!
Damien's face darkens.
We've got to find that demon. If we don't, the people we've already convinced will thing that we cannot handle even a long range threat and may shy from supporting us.
The Major and the Lady look at each other and nod.
Pathfinders, we'll stay here and protect the guests. Do a sweep of the manson and the grounds and see if you can't root this imposter out. Kill them, and you'll bring a decisive victory...
As he's speaking, Lady Dyrianna walks up, her face downturn with worry.
Excuse me... but Faelyn is missing... I can't find him anywhere.
The three leaders look at each other and nod.
No worries my lady.Says the Major calmly. I was just about to assign my best team to the job. Pathfinders, if you could? And before you go...
He unbuckles his sword belt and passes it to Braxus.
Take my sword for the moment... I feel it might be more useful to you than me in your pursuit.

Kargen jerks back as Braxus executes the demon. "Braxus! What are you...? I mean..." He looks at the Ulfen. "You didn't even pray for her!" He looks at the man with wild eyes, but then simply shakes his head.
Kargen gives a low whistle as the Major turns over his blade to Braxus. "That's a fine gift, and with the ability to keep the succubus here, we can be sure of ending the threat."
Once the Ulfen has the blade secured, Kargen give the Major a salute and then turns to the others. "Ok, let's search the manor. Top to bottom."
Kargen is being literal. Let's start in the master bedroom (a good guess for a succubus) and search the whole top floor.

The team begins to comb the house, top to bottom. However, as they pass through the guest bedroom, Bulgo, Kargen, and Peribas's incredible sharp eyes pick out 3 figures standing in the Gazebo. They look for all the world like two young women in servant uniforms having a staring contest. With them is the tall, handsome elf escort, who seems to be staring off into space with the dopiest smile on his face.
Kargen's eyes, sharp as the eagle of his order, however, notice ever so slightly the rustling of branches in a nearby tree. Staring intently at it, he's able to make out another young woman hiding in the branches acting as a lookout, looking up the garden paths to the back door of the manor. Peribus also spots it, his ranger instinct guiding his vision to just the right spot at the right time. Now, the only question is... what to do about it?
