Fang the Obtuse |

In Draconic "Er 'ello young one, sorry bout killin yer mum, but she was tryin' ter eat me an' all. As long as yer nice and stuff ya can come along wif us."
He looks at you blankly, "Mum?" He may be 4 cans short of a six pack, but he knows that lizardfolk aren't baby T-Rexs...
"Eat!?!" He really perks up at this, but when no food is immediately forthcoming he shrugs.
"Nice?" Fang nods his head emphatically and points to himself. "I'm nice!" It's his first complete sentence...

Jas the Shipwright |

Knowledge Geography rolled 2 +4 heh 6.
"Looks like a short hike, let's do this people."
I take care of the gear I found on the ship.
Then help Teaglin sort out the food and stores.
"Teaglin, do you want to carry the potions of healing?
What do you make of this scroll case?"
I look at the lizard man and say,
"My name is Jas" and point to myself.
Then pointing at the lizard man, ask "What is your name?"

Teaglin |

Sure, I'll carry the potions. And the scrollcase could come in handy, I happen to have a couple of scrolls that should be protected. Unless someone else would like to take it?
Now, Is anyone hurt? I see that the lizardman is still bleeding.
Cast cure spells until everyone is healed or I run out of spells for the day.

The sun is setting as the group gather around Cora and Urdok's tents. The funeral pyre is lit and the last of the Sea Wyvern's other passengers are sent to sea and air through the smoke.
Amella makes comments for each of the sailors, and Avner adds something for the colonists who gave up their peasant lives for his venture. Tavey holds up pretty strongly for a little guy. This may be because his hero was turned to stone by the basilisk on the voyage down and is not among those being burned. Urol suggests he may be in shock.
Afterword another fire lit. The meat of the T-Rex is a little tough due to its near starving state, but has a delightfully fruity taste.
Well into dark, but before anyone is truly exhausted enough to sleep the conversation turns back to reaching Farshore. Each of the humans will need 8 pounds of rations for the eight day journey, the halfling and gnome need only 2 (Tavey as a child needs only 4) for about 64 pounds of food. Thunderstrike will need about 80 pounds of feed, though the jungle seems to offer plenty of grazing opportunities. Jas and Teaglin have found almost half of that and the T-rex will offer another few pounds survival check -5 with each point being a pound of food--if someone wants to roll.
"I assure you the island will provide plenty of food as well," offers Urol and Avner makes a squeamish face muttering something about eating local. Urol's response is to pick up a bright green crab from a nearby tide pool. "See? There's delicious food all over this island!" He pops the crab into his mouth, his eyes bulge and he immediately spits the thing out.
as you are all experienced adventurers, I will assume a watch is being set. If anyone would like to offer a certain order that would be fine, but not necessary.

The jungle night is full of many sounds: crickets, waves, a baying wolf (albeit a wolf that sounds like it weighs three tons) in the distance. Branches move and rocks shift under the feet of unseen creatures. At one point something is sniffing at the edges of the jungle, but seems unwilling to enter proximity with the fire big enough to cook a T-Rex.

Fang the Obtuse |

Fang is overjoyed to be healed and does a little dance that may be one of the weirdest things you've seen. Then apparently exhausted by being in the T-Rex's gullet he sit's down against a nearby rock and falls into a deep sleep, apparently unconcerned by any danger, which might be just how he ended up inside of a T-Rex.
Oh and also he snores like a dragon...

The morning dawns the clearest you have seen in days. The clouds are the friendly fluffy type, not the ship breaking storms they have been.

Fang the Obtuse |

Fang stretches and rises from his bed against the rock at the first light of dawn. It seems to take him a second to remember where he is, but once it comes back to him he smiles and starts trying to help out.
His help is good natured, and not entirely counter-productive...

Fang the Obtuse |

Urdok claps the lizardman on the back with a hearty "GOOD MORNIN!" With a grin splitting his face he points at his chest and says "Urdok" then points at the lizardman's chest and asks "Your name?" slowly in draconic.
He responds in a dialect you're unfamiliar with. It almost seems like it might be a Creole. As such you're not 100% sure if you understood him, but it sounded like he says, pointing at his own chest:
"Physician Fang"

Jas the Shipwright |

"Ill take the first bit of no sleepie with ya Jas, been kinda an excitin' day so can't sleep anyway."
after waiting an hour or so, Urdok pulls out some dice and asks if you want to play some skulls and bones.
"What are we playing for? All my coins are underwater..."
"Papa said, never gamble against a wizard."
"Yes, very exciting, how did you get to this place?"

"guy in the sky?" I think, Teaglin's diety is a sky god.
Teaglin |

My Diety, she is not actively aligned with nature. But I hear her voice in the rage of the storm, and the calm folding of the waves. The secrets that she tells me can be heard most through the changing of the weather.
My dear Dwarf, (laughing) your comic display will please the Whirling Fury, but perhaps you should call that good before you injure yourself with those gestures. :)
Is everyone about ready to depart for Farshore?

DM & vestigial dm |

A big ole lizard bellows across the jungle as if on cue. At first guess it seems the lizard must be close, but turns out to be much farther away.
The walk south is not very difficult, large game trails crisscross the expanse, making tavel a bit easier. Urol's enthusiasm is catching although it does seem he is moving from person to person as each tires of lectures about the Skull Moth, or the Island Red Ferns, a blue beetle which he has never seen before and similar topics.
The jungle is unlike anything anything you have seen before--even for those Sasserine natives and its Amedio Jungle. At one point the trail follows a downed tree, the trunk is wide enough even for the pack laden horse. Tall trees flush with brightly colored birds and thick hanging vines. The canopy keeps the region shaded with occasional shafts of light.

Urdok |

Urdok works tirelessly to prove his worth to the rest of the party. He insists on carrying Avner's portion of the load, insisting that "A true gentle-person such as yerself shouldna carry such a thing, and dwarves don't get bogged down by weight." Urdok also travels up and down the line of the party, from working his hardest to help break trail...

Fang the Obtuse |

Fang wanders back and forth through the party. Sometimes he's in front, sometimes he's in the back, almost out of sight. He seems just happy to be included in the group.
When Urdok starts talking about religion and philosophy Fang seems thoughtful. Just when you're sure that he's not understanding a word you're saying, he says something incredibly wise (1d20+3=21):
"As long as the roots are not severed, all is well. And all will be well in the garden."
You're surprised at how well it fits in with the conversation, and you're amazed to hear that many words all at once, and all different words out of Fang. But just as soon as he's spoken, he wanders off again and appears fascinated by the foliage.

Cora |

Cora remains quiet throughout the day, only occasionally making a comment to try to keep the dwarf on his toes.

"Ah lassie, ye toy with a poor dwarf's heart so muchly." Urdok bemoans to Cora, as his most recent attempt at conversation falls flat on his face once again.
Highly amused by Fang, Urdok enjoys his company, as many a chatterbox does when he finds someone who allows them to control the conversation. Urdok spends most of his time with Fang talking about anything inconsequential that comes to mind, his stories getting more and more outrageous throughout the day.

After only a couple of quite hours walk the junge almost seems friendly and serene.
Suddenly Amela gives a shout and the echo is the only thing that can be heard for the next few stunning moments. Urol slinks away from her, his face fallen farther than you would expect from the gnome in his element. "It is a wonderful snake! Can't she see it changing colors?" He sniffles as he walks by.
It is only a moment later that you realize the jungle sounds have not returned.
