Fuskee didn't take his turn for last round, is it okay to do so and also take one for this round?
Fuskee tries to get some of the liquid off of his jacket after falling into the weird liquid but sees hostiles and goes into combat mode. He sets his exocortex to track the red puddle as he raises his laser rifle to take a shot.

GM mistake, but error in the starfinders favor for last round.
@Fuskee feel free to take a bonus turn
You all realise just how slippery the liquid you were swimming through really was.
Movement for all of you is as if you were in an area affected by the grease spell.

Fuskee fires at the red puddle, slightly drying it up. Saryn concentrates his own fire on the closest of the puddles. Mobiu's also takes a shot, but he can't quite bring his sonic weapon to easily bear on the slowly moving liquid. miss
Chaiyek frther damage the red puddles, but Kato's tricks don't seem effective. The acid that the red puddle sprays at Chaiyek also runs off his protective covering.
@Kato, guarded step is an action now in Starfinder, and trick shot is a full round activity. However as you missed anyway, I'll assume a guarded step and regular shot.
@all, Does anyone know if trick attck even works against 'ooze' class creatures. It didn't in PF, but SF has moved things around a little, and I'm thinking it probably does work. But if anyone knows of a clarifiction that would be helpful.
The blue ooze follows Kato, but can't seem to get through his layer of protective oils :-)

OOZE IMMUNITIES (EX)
Oozes are immune to the following effects, unless the effect specifies that it works against oozes.
Critical hits, paralysis, poison, polymorph, sleep, and stunning.
Gaze abilities, illusions, visual effects, and other attacks that rely on sight.
Flanking—oozes are unflankable
No immunity to trick shot.
EDIT: Can I shoot while in melee? I can't seem to find any specifics in the rulebook right now. If not, Kato will take a guarded step and do a regular attack action.
Feeling pretty cocky from dodging all the puddles slow and clumsy attacks, Kato will stay where he is and take advantage of the slippery floor to shoot where the puddle seems thinnest.

While they are not expressly immune to trick attack, creatures with no intelligence can't be affected by certain skills like bluff and intimidate. I would think that means you couldn't use those skills to get a trick attack against them.

The blue puddle quickly evaporates leaving the team with just the buzz of cameras drones to distract them from the injured dwarf. He too tries to speak, working through a number of languages with no more success than the dwarf-woman earlier.

Kato is pretty sure that while the dwarfs injuries are significant, they are not likely to prove immediately fatal.
He limps back from a nearby storeroom with a gem. Looking deeply into it he repeats some unintelligible words.
Then he says "Hello... and thank you. Torag has granted me the ability to speak your language for a short period of time.."

![]() |

"Hello. My name is Kato Oomsphere and these are my colleagues. We are starfinder exploring these unknown caverns. Don't mind the undead crew. They wanted to film our awesome feats of bravery and exploration. Who are you? How did your people get here and remain undiscovered for so long? And do you know what caused the earthquake?"

![]() |

"I am Chief Priest Holsin of Torag. And I lead the Marbleheart clan on our Quest for the Sky!" he announces as the large boulder is finally rolled away.

![]() |

"The Quest for the Sky? This has been our holy mission for generations. To reach the surface of Golrian of course! For generations my people have climbed higher and higher in the Darklands, following Torag’s prophesied tremor that began the Quest for Sky. Ever since, Torag has rumbled periodically... coaxing our people to ascend. Now Torag’s miracles have become less powerful, which I believe is because his power is diluted by the influence of surface faiths with which we must contend! These short orcs for example... oh there are none here, but they are all about."

![]() |

Saryn gets a sorrowful look on his face. "This will be difficult for you to hear and I am not very learned, so you will want to consult with those more wise and more studied than I am, but Golarian is gone. Where it stood not sits Absalom Station. Many of the races from Golarian live there, including many dwarves. If you want, we can take a delegation back with us to prove the veracity of my words."

![]() |

"What my friend says is correct. Golarian is gone. It disappeared a few hundred years ago. We are now on Salvation's End, a moon orbiting around on backwater planet in near space.
"If you are looking the sky, you are not far. We just came from there and ran into some of those small orcs you are talking about. We call them goblins. If you wish we could lead you there. Was it Torag's miracle that caused the cavern to fall and trap you?"

![]() |

The dwarf shakes his head. "It cannot be gone! We are here, inside it..." however his voice shows perhaps a hint on uncertainty.
"What is a moon? Is that what you now name the surface?" he adds.
"Torag has shown his displeasure of late, indicating it is time for us to continue our quest onward. However our route is blocked by foul smelling vapours and more... short orcs, or goblins." he continues.
"Perhaps you might clear them away for us?"

![]() |

Relieved that his telepathy is working again, Chaiyek explains, "A moon is like a smaller world, circling around a bigger one. Golarion had a moon, I have heard. We will do everything we can to help you and your clan to safety."

![]() |

As you discuss with the dwarf, Wazasha comes through into the temple, and quickly arranges for The Booth to be set up again!
"So, Jed. How do you feel you are fitting in with the others? What do you see as your most important contribution to the exploration so far?" she asks
Then she quickly follows up with "Why do you keep letting Saryn make all the decisions?"
While you consider the answer she adds in
"You've been really quiet around Chaiyek... why is that?"
The chief priest arranges for a small team of scouts to show you the way to the "poisoned" caverns that his clan have to travel through. It is almost two hours of tunnel crawling. After the first hour the air starts to take on a misty appearance and foul smell. It gets gradually thicker as you approach the caverns that the dwarves are most concerned about.

![]() |

"Yah, I try to see both sides of the story and I think they are being genuine about their Deity. This is a good opportunity to do some research about the gods from the past." He tinkers his exocortex and sets a reminder to do some researching after their mission.
"Oh Chaiyek? Most people might think that I'm giving him the silent treatment. But I'm really being polite to the Shirren, you know, with all their telepathy know-how. It helps me get the hang of it." He then smiles for the camera.

As everyone is talking to the dwarves priest. Jed gets rushed off into a room and has a camera shoved in his face and asked questions. As the camera is rolling jed keeps a slight smile/ shit eating grin on his face as he is asked his first question."So, Jed. How do you feel you are fitting in with the others? What do you see as your most important contribution to the exploration so far?"
Jed thinks for a min then answers "I think that my talants are not best suited to this situation. I mean that I have been training to be all sneaky and quiet and to sneak up on my enemies and explore from the shadows but over all I say that I'm fitting in ok and atleast I can help them kill things and save people."
Before he could answer the first couple of questions she fired off the next.
"Why do you keep letting Saryn make all the decisions?"
Jed finishes the conversation bombardment with a smile and a slight nod of his head.
Jed's reply to this is simple. "he seems like the type of person that likes to lead so I dont mind letting him lead the way."

![]() |

@Jed, can I get a CHA based skill check from you as well please.
All, any last plans before going into the misty cave..

Saryn walks among the group, going from one to the next. "Ok, Starfinders, make your final preparations. Check your armor's seals and replenish your air supply. Triple check to make sure you have everything and that its all where it should be. Know how much energy your power cells have." He stops in front of Fuskee. "Hey, Wild Card, have you relieved yourself? We won't be taking any bathroom breaks once we get moving."
"Priest Holsin, something you said has been nibbling at me. You said you've been questing for the sky for generations. Do you mean your clan has been actively climbing upwards for generations?"
Maybe I misunderstand, but this 'moon' isn't that large. Even if they started on the other side, it would not take them hundreds of years to get to this side.

![]() |

No, you understood perfectly!
Holsin nods. "Sometimes we rest for a year or so. Put down some roots to build up our supplies and such. But the clan has been slowly working out way to the surface for generations. And we are going to make it, on my watch. If you can help us clear the path."
The priest stays back as the air gets harder to breathe, but with your suit seals, you have no difficulty. Eventually he casts a spell to help him survive in the horrid air. You emerge into a large cavern with a field of several blunted stalagmites and a broken up "floor". Before you is a large trench, around ten foot deep. And through the thick poisonous air you can make out more goblins on the other side.
A veritable hord of drones follows you out to capture the battle. Best try to make it look spectacular!
The ratty armor’s environmental protections are unstable and could be disabled by fast hands or a careful shot... exposing them to the horrid atomousphere...

What tools or tech have I seen the dwarves use?

![]() |

Before leaving the Dwarven village Kato ensures that all his gear is in good working order and takes a minute to patch up the wound on his shoulder from the shiny spiny armadillo. (spend one resolve to heal his stamina)
Walking up the priest, he rests a hand on his shoulder and drops to one knee to be at eye level with him. He says, "That was close in there. Let me look at those wounds, I am trained as a field medic." He takes out his med kit and starts patching him up (taking 20 on treat deadly wounds, healing the dwarf for one HP.) As he patches him he talks to him about what happened and the history of his people. He explains where his team came from and talks about space. As they chat Kato tries to figure out if the Dwarves are hiding something.

Can Kato physical science test on the gas to see where it came from or what it is. His speciality is chemistry
---Arriving at the cavern---
Kato is awed by the cavern and all the interesting geology found here. I need to come back here with the proper surveying equipment to learn more about this place, he thinks to himself. His thoughts are immediately interrupted as he spots the goblins on the other side of the trench.
"Space goblins! Everybody get ready for a fight!" Kato winks at the closest camera and dives to the closest stalagmite for cover. As he moves he takes a carefully aimed shot at the closest goblin (blue).
