That Wildwise augmentation may make this trip MUCH easier...

Wildwise:

The soft purple fungus called wildwise attaches itself to your vocal cords and extends fine filaments into portions of your brain. It allows you to communicate in a general sense with animals and with magical beasts with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2. You can attempt Diplomacy checks to influence such creatures as well as understand in very vague terms information they try to convey to you. The information they give you usually consists of simple concepts such as “danger,” “food,” or “that way.

Looks like y'all are preparing well for the jungle. But, I want to post the rules here to make sure everybody is on the same page!

Hot Conditions:
A character in very hot conditions (above 90° F) must attempt a Fortitude saving throw each hour (DC = 15 + 1 per previous check) or take 1d4 nonlethal fire damage. Characters wearing heavy clothing or armor of any sort take a –4 penalty to their saving throws. A character can attempt a Survival check to receive a bonus to this saving throw, and might be able to apply this bonus to other characters as well. A character who takes any damage from heat exposure suffers from heatstroke (same as the fatigued condition). These penalties end when the character recovers from the nonlethal damage she took from the heat.

Unfortunately, only a black hypopen removes Fatigue. Which ups the price considerably!

I was assuming consumables had the same restriction as other items so Brown was the only one we could buy currently. We just have to be careful not to be bitten by anything that looks venomous and note bite anything that could be poisonous. Heh.

Good catch, the Black is to high of a level.

Yeah, the better strategy is to avoid the fortitude saves or improve your chances at passing them rather than getting rid of the Fatigue.

Wow, those tents are pretty awesome! My group never saw those when we ran this. You'll be running around in the dark, so light may become an issue in combats for those who need it. Just something to consider. (Extra batteries or nicer lights might be helpful.)

Good stuff. Sorry if I've been a bit absent. In addition to the holidays and travel both my kids got a stomach bug AND a nasty cold that we're all working through.

Decided to bring this to discussion thread. Went through everyone's character sheet and unless I missed something, looks like Davrin's got the best survival at +6? :p So Davrin leads and the rest aid?

Suggest the first day we try Track first, and might be able to get a sense of the DC. We can then decide again for the 2nd day.

Tracking does seem safer to start with, though the rest of the team should be contributing another +4 of aiding bonuses on average, so our overall bonus with Davrin leading could be quite OK.

Clank's skills definitely aren't in the "I'm evading a herd of creatures with sheer athleticism."

I am pretty sure I'm going to take a level of Mechanic for the Exocortex for a 1x a day knowledge skill reroll. As the primary knowledge guy, if I (inevitably) fail a knowledge check, it's bad news. plus, +1 Attack, Skills, Long Arm / Heavy Armor proficiency seem worth the temporary setback.
