-Hush- |
Could be worse, Theadus. In one of my other games I'm on my fourth consecutive round of no rolls above a 9.
Ginko Nakami |
Hideous Laughter only targets one person, so I think just Theadus?
GM DevilDoc |
Yes, the will save was just for Theadus, the target of the hideous laughter spell. I will update further here in a bit.
GM DevilDoc |
Hush makes a strong cut on the bard, but Theadus continues fanning air at the enemy with his blade
Everyone else is still up

Darn, could've used that natural 20.
Hush slices at the annoying creature twice more.
Shortsword 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Shortsword 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

GM DevilDoc |
Hush you already went for this turn.. assuming that he is still standing we will use this for your next roll. Everyone ELSE is still up.. excluding Theadus and Hush, who have already gone this round.
Ginko Nakami |
Ginko draws his cure light wounds wand from his spring-loaded wrist sheath and walks up to Hush, tapping him with it.
"You look injured. We can fix that."
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
GM DevilDoc |
Colt calmly reloads while Ginko tap taps Hush for some healing.
We will delay Pierre for now.. he will have 2 actions next round.
Versovesh begins dancing and capering around, singing nonsensical things that seem bent on capturing your attention.
Everyone within 30ft of the bard, please give me a will save vs DC 13. If you fail, have a seat on the floor and enjoy the *Facinating* show!

Will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Unfazed by the goblin's magic, Hush calmly slashes out at him. (See earlier post.)

Theadus Moravic |
Theadus' scowl turns into a smirk as he momentarily starts to giggle. However, a quick shake of his head brings the scowl back as he returns madder than ever. He continues his attack with increasing ferocity as his frustration builds.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
However, rather that aid him, his frustration merely blinds him as he loses focus.
GM DevilDoc |
Hush manages to lay two good strikes in against the bard, but Theadus continues to fan the bard with his sword.
I need a second Will save from Theadus for the Bardic performance, please, as well as one from Ginko on his turn.

Colt Bastola |
Colt moves into position where he can watch the outgoing tunnel. He has supreme confidence that his fellow party members will soon finish off the last goblin.
Will save: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Ginko Nakami |
Will Save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Ginko shuffles away from the combat and sits down to listen to the performance, seeing the opportunity for a nice break.
He taps Colt with a bit of healing as he sits down as well.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Pierre Viret |
round 1
-------------
Pierre moves step closer from the goblin and slices it in the holy name of Iomedae.
Longsword, divine favor, guidance: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 51d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
round 2
-------------
Longsword, divine favor: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 1 = 111d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
oh my, these rolls!
GM DevilDoc |
The DC for the bardic performance was only 13.. Both Ginko and Colt made the save..If yall want to retcon your moves, you may. I also need a will save from Pierre.
Ginko Nakami |
I know he made the save. He's old and thinks everything is under control, so he's going to sit down.
GM DevilDoc |
Alrighty then!
Backing into a corner, Versovesh finally strikes out with martial intent at Theadus
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

-Hush- |
Hush smirks behind his mask. The old bird doesn't like what I do, but is more than willing to let me do it. He steps to the side to take full advantage of the brutish tiefling's distraction and slashes at the bard twice more.
Shortsword 1, flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Shortsword 2, flanking: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Oh come on...

Colt Bastola |
Yes, I realize Colt made the check. He just figured a warpriest and a bloodrager shouldn't have a problem finishing off one goblin.
Seeing that his party mates are still struggling with the goblin, Colt circles around behind Theadus and swipes at it with his kukri.
Kukri: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Pierre Viret |
Oh, sorry, I didn't see that.
Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"By Iomedae's helmet! Stop this song!" says the cleric, trying once again to hit the goblin.
Longsword, divine favor, flank: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 81d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
GM DevilDoc |
Hush fans more air at the gobbie, but Colt manages to finally bring the thing down and silence the singing. Looking around the room, you find (on the bodies) 1 potion of resist energy (fire), wand of cure light wounds (24 charges); Other Gear leather armor, masterwork whip, short sword, shortbow with 20 arrows, brooch of shielding (with 40 points remaining), disguise kit, jester's motley, pouch of broken glass shards, spell component pouch and 2 flasks of alchemists fire.
-Hush- |
Wordlessly, Hush picks up the wand. He touches the tip to Colt and speaks the command word from behind his mask, then does the same to himself.
Cure light wounds, Colt: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Cure light wounds, Hush: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Theadus bares his teeth and growls at the gunslinger's snide remark. He takes a step forward but his leg buckles under the strain of his injuries. With a grimace, he looks to the divine casters as asks "A little help here?"
I have a wand of CLW. I just need someone to get me back to full health.
-Hush- |
Hush touches the wand to Colt again, seeing that his wounds don't quite all knit, then does the same to Theadus. We haven't earned it, he thinks as he rejuvenates his companions. These creatures were beneath us.
Cure light wounds, Colt: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Cure light wounds, Theadus: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Ginko Nakami |
Ginko rouses.
"Hmm? We done now?"
He looks at the bodies of the goblins.
"Such a shame...." he says to himself.
Pierre Viret |
Pierre nods at Ginko's remark, oblivious to Colt's statement.
"As you say, master Tengu. A shame."
The cleric kneels and says out loud:
"Glorious Iomedae, I pray that these poor souls may have rest in afterlife, even when tormented in their mortal life. Take care of them!"
After that, he stands with a grim face, ready to continue nevertheless.
GM DevilDoc |
Continueing on in your explorations, the party follows the hall out of the sewer room and turns the corner. Down a bit, you are confronted with a cross tunnel. To your right is an empty room at the end of the hall, and to your left there are two half doors before the hallway makes another turn. From these half doors come the snarling and growling of some horrid dog like beasts.
-Hush- |
Reasoning that where there are dogs there are more goblins, Hush follows the noise and turns to the left.
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
GM DevilDoc |
Coming up the hallway, you find two rooms, on either side of the hallway. They are barred with half doors, and on the other side are several goblin dogs. You catch glimpses of fleeing dogs down the end of the hallway, but nothing close by.
Ginko Nakami |
"When I come a crossroads and I do not know which way to go, I remember the words of wisdom of Hao Jin: 'Always go left.'"
Ginko chuckles to himself.
Theadus Moravic |
Theadus shrugs in response to the tengu's words. One way is as good as the other in his mind. "That's fine then, but we should kill these mongrels in the pens before we move on," He says, motioning to the goblin dogs. "If the goblins happen to come up behind us, it would be all too easy for them to release these hounds on us, and I've already made my opinion clear on the subject of being flanked."
Ginko Nakami |
Ginko pats Theadus.
"You do not have to take everything so seriously. It was just a bit of humor."
Ginko's beak opens into a langourous yawn, stretching his arms up into the air.
"Everyone knows Hao Jin says 'Always go right.'"
Ginko pauses, winks, then returns to stretching.
GM DevilDoc |
This square stone chamber stinks of feces, urine, and unwashed animal fur. Gnawed bones, rotting chunks of meat, and filthy piles of rags litter the room. As Theadus moves towards the dogs, Ekkie rushes forward and plants herself squarely in front of the huge (to her) Tiefling.
"NO NO NO NO!!!! YOUS IS BAD MAN! NO HURT THE PUPPIES!!!!" she yells at him, wagging her finger at him in chastisement.
Colt Bastola |
"Looks like we've got ourselves a bit of a dog lover here. My sensibilities tend towards the canine as well."
Colt will shift from human form to his natural form, and then back, to emphasize his point.
"Then again, no one likes getting bit in the butt. Anyone have a way to incapacitate them without hurting them?"
Ginko Nakami |
"I might know a way."
Ginko kneels down, smiling at the dogs.
"You look quite tired, little doggies."
Ginko could cast Sleep on the dogs. Dont know how well that will work, though.
GM DevilDoc |
Sleep might work, but they will have a save. Keep in mind that there is an escape tunnel to the north marked on the map..
Seeing that she has the support of some of the party, Ekkie beseeches them "Please, no hurt puppies! They just hungry! We feed, and I make go away??"
Pierre Viret |
Pierre raises a surprised eyebrow in front of Ekkie's behavior.
"If nobody disagrees with this, I ask you to share your daily rations to feed the dogs. It really is an unnecessary fight." he adds, looking at Theadus.
Theadus Moravic |
"Oh for Gorumn's sake, not this again! I swear you're all just druids in disguise." laments Theadus as he throws his hands up in defeat.
"Do as you will, but I'll kill any of them that try to fight us."
Ginko Nakami |
Ginko bows towards Theadus.
"Your continued patience is appreciated."
Pierre Viret |
"Indeed. Thank you." nods Pierre.
Theadus Moravic |
With a grumble of impatience, Theadus retrieves the dead goblins from the other room and tosses them to the goblin dogs. Once they've eaten, Theadus turns to Ekkie and growls "Alright runt, do your thing."
