Ginko Nakami |
Ginko rouses, after apparently nodding off for a moment.
"Hmm? We there yet? I am following you gentlemen."
He yawns and stretches.
GM DevilDoc |
Waiting on yall to make your decision.. Follow the sounds up the hall or continue the way you were going?
Pierre Viret |
"Maybe we can settle this without blood shed, my friend." whispers the cleric to his companions.
GM DevilDoc |
If yall wouldnt mind updating your locations, I would appreciate it. Pierre, Since you have now... recruited.. an acolyte, I will let you move Ekkie around, subject to some module rules. I will PM you.
As the party advances up the tunnel, the shrieks and babbling gets louder, and then recedes very quickly.. accompanied by the flapping of many goblin feet. You see the backs of the last few escaping down a bolt hole that from the smell can only lead back into the sewers. You find yourselves standing in what was obviously the living quarters.. ankle deep in.. yuck.. and emitting a wonderfully pungent odoriferous assault upon you persons.
-Hush- |
Hush nods. Quiet, it is.
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
As they enter the disgusting goblin quarters, Hush looks around for anything worth looking for.

GM DevilDoc |
Nothing of interest to be found. Typical detritus of a goblin den.
Colt Bastola |
"I don't fancy chasing after a group of goblins in the sewers. Besides, we're looking for bigger foes. I say let's move back to the main hallway and press on. Although, whoever brings up the rear will need to keep a watchful eye to our backs. We don't want anything sneaking up on us at the wrong time."
GM DevilDoc |
After sifting through the mess and debris, you eventually find enough things to stuff into the hole. It is not a permanent fix, but it will slow down anyone trying to come back in behind you.
GM DevilDoc |
The ceiling of this room has partially collapsed, creating a two story space to the west while exposing the chamber above to the east. Rubble lies haphazardly about the place, with some other larger pieces serving as tabletops for crude alchemical apparatuses. Soot, scorch marks, and other chemical residues cover many of the chamber's walls and other surfaces. A sizable slab of jagged debris leans against the broken edge of the upper level's floor in the room's center. The upper level seems clear of wreckage and contains several wooden worktables. Opposite the entrance, a set of stone steps that once rose to the upper level are broken away halfway up their length. The whole chamber smells of burnt oil and acrid chemicals.

Ginko moves up into the doorway, then shakes his head as he realizes he does not have range on any targets.
"Take your time. Do not try to rush things."
Ginko taps Colt with Guidance.
-Hush- |
Hush rushes into the room as well, waiting for the opportunity to strike.
Double move into the room.
Colt Bastola |
Colt moves into the room, and turns to the sound of the shout. He takes aim and fires at goblin on the upper level.

"All of this fighting takes a lot of energy. Wouldn't you rather take a nap?"
Ginko begins casting Sleep
GM DevilDoc |
As Theadus leaps into battle, his rage is a little overzealous, as both of his attacks just barely go wide.
Pierre casts a spell, and helps Hush to quickly dispatch his foe.
Colt sends another bullet at Yarak, but it just barely misses him.
Ginko steps up and begins to cast a spell, while Ekkie looks on in fascination at all of booms and blasts.
Blue goblin takes another swing at Theadus as he fends of his sword,
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 but misses completely while dodging the gnashing teeth.
Red goblin hurls another flask at Hush, but he fumbles the throw, and the flask explodes between them 1 pt splash for Hush

@HushIf Ginko targets his Sleep spell to hit both red and blue goblins, Hush would also be included in the area. Would that be okay with you?
If not, he will target it so that just the red one gets hit.
DC 17 will save or fall asleep
His spell having gone off, Ginko walks up to Colt and taps him with Guidance.
"Ghenshau says to take your time and aim."
-Hush- |
Hm, DC 17 and I have a +5 Will. That's less than 50/50, I'd rather not risk it.

I am going to go ahead and bot Theadus for now, since I know that he is indisposed, and it is pretty obvious what he would do. Pierre, you will have two actions this round.
Hush manages to stab one of the remaining gobbies in the arm, but Colt is not so lucky in his shot.

Hush slices and dices the last gobbie.
The staircase is broken, and you are unable to get up there without a grappling hook or some acro rolls jumping across the broken staircase. Just to make things easier, here are the dc's to get up to the top: Creatures can reach the upper level by climbing up the stone slab with a successful DC 20 Climb check or by jumping for the top of the broken stairs with a successful DC 12 Acrobatics check followed by a successful DC 15 Climb check to pull oneself up. Creatures who beat the Acrobatics DC by 20 or more land on the upper level and don't need to make the Climb check to pull themselves up. This is straight from the scenario book. However, there is enough debris around, that I am sure that you can get creative.. I know those dc's are high.
Ekkie wanders into the room while everyone else is focused on the climb
Colt Bastola |
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Climb: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (20) - 2 = 18
Colt gets a running start, and leaps for the top of the broken stairs. He manages to grab hold and, using his momentum from the jump, pull himself up to the second level. He moves over to the goblin to make sure he doesn't wake up any time soon. He pulls out a rope, ties the goblin up, and ties off the remainder to a solid object and lowers the end down to anyone who wishes to climb up.
GM DevilDoc |
Yarak wakes up as Colt is tying him up, and starts struggling; yelling and cursing at the party. Looking around, the party can see some charcoal markings on one wall behind the worktable, as well as an assorted mix of different alchemical tools and implements.
Since we are out of combat with Yarak secured, yall can take 20 to get to the top. What now?
Pierre Viret |
Ekkie and Pierre start to gather stones and build a small pile so Pierre can reach more easily the top of the broken stair.
Ginko Nakami |
Ginko pushes the sword away.
"Now, now. Excess violence is not necessary."
Ginko nods towards Ekkie.
"Even goblins can surprise you. At the very least, a captive may tell us more about what dangers we will face."
-Hush- |
With the others, behind his mask, Hush rolls his eyes. Some call it excess violence. I call it deliverance.

Well, crap! I'll assume that doesn't find anything.
Growing frustrated, theadus turns back to the bound goblin, grabbing him by his bindings and slamming him up against the wall. He then puts his face inches from the captive's and says in a threatening voice "Give me one reason why I shouldn't just bite your throat out and let you drown on your own blood. Start talking, or I'll start chewing!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

GM DevilDoc |
At this horrendous display of brutality and anger, Yarak begins jabbering about secret plans, burning longshanks, and fire, fire, fire everywhere. The only problem is that half of what he says is completely unintelligible, and the other half sounds like the ravings of a lunatic.
Pierre Viret |
Pierre sighs and comes towards Yarak. He looks deep in his eyes and taps lightly his chest, casting a spell and he begins to radiate a calm and bright light, as he did before. He speaks to the goblin with a low voice, keeping his penetrating gaze.
"I am Pierre and I don't wish to harm you and your brothers and sisters. You have done a lot of things in order to survive and make your tribe survive. I can only offer you a bit of food and healing to close your wounds, in the glorious name of Iomedae. If you accept this bread and sausage, I shall heal you but you'll have to behave after that, dear Yarak."

I'm feeling like this character becomes an Hermione Granger-like, ready to start the "Society for the Promotion of Goblin Welfare" :D
Theadus Moravic |
Theadus looks over his shoulder, scowling at Pierre as he growls "You would heal this thing, even after it tried to kill us all!? It is not some lost child you can save. Nay, it is a homicidal monster that would eat you alive if given the chance!"
Please note that this is purely in game. I'm not actually having lashing out at you, Pierre. I'm just having some fun roleplaying.
