The werewolves are an interesting idea but I'm not ready to do more on these boards at this time.
Go north, young man!. Let's wander back through any unexplored area left in a reasonably direct path to Svetlana's sister and then to Oleg's. I'm not sure if there are any such areas left though. We can regroup at "home base" and decide where to go from there.

Ryuko |

After this fight you'll be leveling. Please remember the houserules (I'll be compiling them in the campaign info when I've got more time) and give all changes here.
Another thing: I'll be shamelessly ripping the idea of Achievement Feats from Nostrus, so expect to get some of those for solving quests in good ways.

Paizo Fan |

Ryuko, more than willing for us to knock heads together to come up with some ideas on the achievements side. I've got some ideas which either open up new races as characters (the kobolds as PCs for example) or to impart bonuses. I'm looking at the power level of traits so for bonuses +1 or +2 to a single skill.
One that I'm considering is an achievement where they capture the lieutenants but kill the Stag Lord. This would impart something like +2 to Diplomacy with bandits when trying to reform them.
I don't intend for achievements to be prolific but more to reward tactical thinking that would improve their fledgling kingdom.

Arkady Medvyed |

Things like Arkady recruiting bandits to his cause? Seeing others working with us might move some of the more opportunistic and/or less bloodthirsty bandits to take service with the new cause instead of the old :)
Or training a local militia (something Arkady wants to do but we haven't really had time to work on yet -- we need to get together with the locals.)
Don't quite have a good read on the current set of bandits, so Arkady doesn't really see how to launch into one of his speeches yet.
Some kind of "solve X fey-related problems" giving people a bonus with other fey-related issues seems to make sense. (Pretty sure we're not there yet no matter what X is, but it's something to keep in mind.)

Ryuko |

Uh....did you fail your Perception check there Arkady??
"Super Cruel DM 10"....he's gonna make us suffer..
Hopefully I'll be level 20 someday *starry eyes* :P
Sounds cool Nostrus, I'll probably send you a message with my thoughts later.
Exactly things like that Arkady, though the local militia likely won't work. There's just not really enough people around... there's about 2 people per hex around here, trappers, hunters and such, and not all of them are willing to fight the bandits. Arkady is free to try, but I doubt it'll work too well.

That was rather ... unsubtle ... of the bandits.
Then again, I suppose they haven't quite heard about us yet... this will likely change.
And they must be making a living from something other than the local inhabitants, if there are that few local inhabitants. :) My guess is raiding the road here.
(Which would also explain where Svetlana's sister is getting her money from: providing services of some sort to travelers on the road. Inn, laundry, something else?)

That was my thought. No bandits have really gotten away or anything to tell the rest what happened.
The bandits are indeed raiding the road, though a more significant amount of their money came from Oleg's (one stop shopping, since they didn't have to track down individual hunters) and Katarina's money supply will soon be revealed!

Hey guys, a friend of mine got a surprise military leave and between that and work I've been swamped. However, last night I took the really quick route down some stairs (I.e. I fell) and thus wotk has become a non-issue for at least a day or two, so i will be updating later today.
Also, when leveling you may choose to roll or take the high average (6 for fighter types, 5 for rogues, 4 for casters). If you roll (now not those who already have) then you can't take it back, you're stuck with it.

Arkady Medvyed |

I'm an old-style gamer and will choose to roll. It makes life a little more realistic and unpredictable. If it gets too bad I'll just take Toughness or something.
Good luck with the recovery.
Rogue talent choices for Marcus... hmm. Fast Stealth would be handy for a scout; if you're more into combat than sneaking I'd consider Finesse Rogue (which would give you +3 to hit and more as your Dex goes up). From the APG, Charmer (1/day roll 2d20 for Diplomacy and pick the best) would seem to fit Marcus' character.

Kata Medvyed |

We're looking for two new characters for a Jade Regent game I'm in. Still very early in the adventure (only through one encounter area so far). If you're interested, see GM Will Cooper (RPG Superstar Top 16 this year) at the discussion thread:
Jade Regent Discussion Thread
Existing characters are a Varisian Cavalier (me) and an Ulfen Ranger.

Anton Domnoff Lebeda |

Yes, +1 hit points at 1st level, then +1 skill at second. Anton has done no real fighting in this at all really. Taking down the injured bandit leader at Katarina's place was an execution, not a fight. Earlier than that Anton's drawn more blood shaving than in battle. So I thought he would be more using general skills than battle prowess.

Arkady Medvyed |

I'm doing all skill bonuses, just because I need them so badly. (Max Diplomacy, max Ride, and then I need quite a few other skills to be functional as anything other than a guided missile pointed by someone else. Arkady may be slow, but he's not _that_ slow.)
Trying to figure out how Arkady would respond to Anton's sense motive check. Current line of thought is that Arkady would spare one of the bandits, whichever one provides the most useful information, survive, and hope for the best. Perhaps a mistake to trust so much, but Arkady would like to hope that men are good. Not getting a clear picture of this group and how it reacts. How Anton phrases his report may have a key impact, plus anything our rescuees can tell us. And certainly the other PCs should have a voice as well.
Oh, and did the leader have a stag amulet like Kressle did? I'm wondering if we might not have some freelance bandits here...

Kheldor |

I'm torn. One side of me says split them up and question them individually and see if we can't save a few. Which might end up a total waste of time. But the other side says we should execute them all and get on the road so we can get back to the outpost by nightfall. Of course, this could lead to killing some decent men who've fallen on hard times, much like the three we have gotten to come to the the Light Side...

Arkady Medvyed |

It's late afternoon now, so we probably won't get to Oleg's tonight (ten miles over dirt roads, in spring, likely with mud).
Arkady would rather question them individually. There might be one or two decent men among them, or at least men who are scared enough not to turn traitor on us.
(What? Kheldor speaking in favor of executions? :) )

Marcus Lanatov |

Marcus is now updated to level 2. I want to spend time with the Dwarf back at Oleg's to learn his language (I've chosen it as I took Linguistics, a skill I feel will be of great import once I get to the point of being Spymaster).
I chose Weapon Training as my talent which gives me Weapon Focus as a free feat, choosing my Light Crossbow. At level 4, I'll be choosing Black Market Connections and using it to allow us to make some much-needed purchases from Oleg's.

Anton Domnoff Lebeda |

Glad to see you're back, getting a bit worried there. I still think there are lot of bandits out there, our exploration area is about 30 hexes right? So that would be 60 people total. That's everybody, bandits, the trade post, hunters and trappers. Sixty customers seems thin for Oleg to be trading to; if half of them are robbing him, well we saw the results, soon one ex-trading post. I can't see more than six bandits around at all but I'll not poke more holes and just enjoy the ride. Good role-playing going on everyone.

Monkeygod |

Today, Thursday the 3rd, I will be attending the Mighty Marvel Marathon, watching Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man II, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers. I will therefore most likely have spotty attendance in my games, though I will try to post when possible.

We already cleared the final hurdle, but if you have any interest in Midgard Tales and haven't signed up yet, you still have a few hours. The amount of content is amazing:
- Nearly 200 page Hardcover or Softcover Book (depending what level you buy in)
- 64 page Christina Stiles adventure
- 16 page Wolfgang Baur adventure
- Battlemats
- 32 page Legends of Midgard
- Plus Richard Pett, Nick Logue and Tim Connors are all pitching.
You can get all of that for as little as $35 if you go all-electronic.

Man I am saddened I have no money. This seems really cool. I love Kickstarter.

Hey guys, just wanted to warn everyone, for a little while, this pace is likely where things will stay. My job has picked up and now I'm searching for another in most of my spare time, and my time on the boards is going to suffer from it. I'm sorry to slow it down, but it's all I can manage.
I'm dropping several projects but this isn't one of them, I'd like to keep this going if I can, and I appreciate those of you who will work with me as I go ahead.
