Go ahead and dot in on the gameplay thread and check in with your characters.
A couple of things to note in advance:
#1: I want to have fun and I want you to have fun. If there is something I can do to make sure you are having fun, please let me know. I am always happy to receive feedback on GM/gameplay style and ways that I can improve.
#2: I have some travel time scheduled from Sept 6-17. Some of that time I will be unavailable, and some of that time I will be on "one post a day" mode. As such, I hope to play with a quicker pace earlier on in the scenario so that we have flexibility at the end. If you have any concerns with that plan, please let me know!
I am looking forward to it!

TY, Amarsia Frostbite is a character I played in Legacy of Fire. She went through the whole thing and she is my all time favorite character. So I'm gonna let her be my first PFS character. She is an Undine Water Elemental Sorcerer.
That sounds awesome Amarsia, having a new incarnation of your classic character is a welcome addition to the society. Welcome to the Party.

RxGM |

Welcome aboard Amarsia! I am glad you are joining us.
The link that Great Green God provided is certainly the best starting point for building a character. It is important to note that PFS restricts some source material, so you may have to double check whether your classic build options are "PFS legal".
In my experience, the easiest way to do that would be to check out Archives of Nethys. It isn't perfectly updated, but you can "limit" searches to only PFS legal options, and each ability/alternative racial trait/archetype etc has an icon to denote its legality.
Undine was only somewhat recently allowed as selectable race- so I am glad that Amarsia is able to come along in her true form!
Please let me know if you have any other questions. We have several very experiences players at our table, so they will also be a wonderful help and example as you explore PFS.
I am glad to have you join us as well, Eternal_Twilight. This is a fun adventure to start out with, and I think that it lends itself well to PBP. As we move forward, please let me know if you have any questions!

Amarsia, since you are using your "-01" character, I get to give you this shinny you new boon! If you havent seen a chronicle sheet before, you get access to the "Initiate's Edge" boon for this character. There are three options available and you get to select one of them.

Solemnia occasionally uses a lot of props, so I might ask for more detailed descriptions on occasion.

I can happily give you that boon, but you can't use it with Kyra. It wont count until you are playing the first player you create.
That said- you have plenty of time to build a character before we start. I would happily let you create and run a shinny new -01 character. There really isn't a downside, unless you already have a level 1 character in another game... if you don't like the character after our game you can change anything about them (other than name) until they play their first game at level 2.

@Eternal_Twilight
That's perfectly reasonable too. You could, in theory, make cleric for this game- and the next time you play her change her into a bard, or a barbarian, etc.
My experience with PFS games is that parties aren't always balanced, and that is OK. Many of the characters you will be playing with have wands of CLW, and if things go well you will be able to buy your own CLW after this adventure (using prestige points).
Having a healer in the party is nice, but I (and I would wager all of the veteran players agree with this) would rather you play the character you want to play, not a character you feel you need to play.

I'm dotted in. Will check into gameplay a bit later when I had more time.

Herolab has a Pathfinder Society section under “configure hero”- you can turn on all of your books and then select “Pathfinder Society Organized Play Character” and you will be all good

Out of curiosity, are the characters that everyone has signed up with currently "free"? Since we do have a known slow down in September, it might be worth it to have a slow start a little bit earlier than August 13th- Especially if everyone is already here and able to post.
If that isn't possible (your character is in another game, or you are currently overloaded on active games) that is not problem for me at all.
What do you guys think?

I am working studiously to build a lvl 1 character. knowing that I can change it after the game I'll try to finish it tonight and then I'll be able to start.
finally building a character I've been percolating for about 3 years

Yes, I'm free.

Kissan the Jag |

RxGM here: Most people (myself included) make a separate alias for their animal companions.
This is Kissan, the animal companion for Edmund Decarth, a Sacred Huntsmaster Inquisitor currently fighting evil devil people in Cheliax! She is currently unconscious, so this is an out of body experience for her... its been a rough day.

Please feel free to follow the links in my profile or at the top of the page and "sign in" on the google slide with you information, perception, and initiative.

Here you Go!

Ty Gus. So I am a bit new to PBP but is it generally okay to make rolls that the gm doesnt call for while exploring? I know on the table we usually wait but that's not as efficient.
That's absolutely fine- especially with things like SM, perception, etc. If there is something you want to try, you can always roll and provide your rationale. In general, the only things that come down to a GM calling are the knowledge types- although each GM is different.
The only thing that I ask is that you make your dice rolls in the following order:
1. Anything called by the GM at the start of the post
2. Everything else in chronological order

Something to keep in mind is that this scenario has a time component to it. Rooms will take a certain amount of time to search with more people taking less time. Tonight I’ll have an update with more specific guidelines for how these rules are applied to the scenario. Feel free to continue to explore now, as the search time on this hallway is negligable.

oh that's awesome that the rules time is based on our actions, no time to smell the flowers lol

Just letting you know I’m currently suffering from an intense bout of vertigo. I’ll try my best, but I might not manage to keep up with posting over the next day or so. Feel free to bot me if needed. Sorry for any potential hold up. And thanks for understanding.

Lovissa- take your time and feel better!
Non-Spoiler rules and things to note:
The secret library is located under the main Kitharodian Academy. It may be possible for loud noises or other disruptions to carry into the main library itself.
While you were invited into the “restricted books” section of the main library, your invite does NOT include the secret library below. VC Muesello has requested you be as discrete as possible during your investigation and take appropriate precautions.
The orchestra is playing outside of the library and at times may be loud enough to help cover incidental noises from the library below.
Searching for documents requires all pathfinders to make a skill check: Linguistics, Know(History), Craft/profession (related to books, libraries, or history) are always available. Some specific rooms may allow for other checks. Any check not listed above (perception, other knowledges, etc) may be used at a penalty. The better reasoning/argument you can make for a certain skill to be used, the lower the penalty will be. Creative uses of skills, class abilities, etc may receive bonuses.
All pathfinders searching a room will roll a skill check. The highest check in each room will be used, and all other checks will automatically be considered “to aid”
Rooms will take a fixed amount of time to search. The more people searching, the less time it will take (divide the time by the number of people searching)- although in smaller rooms it may be difficult to have a large number of pathfinders helping. This time includes the necessary time to both look at and copy down important information. You can always (regardless of success or failure) re-search a room, which takes half the original time.

Oke dokie than! I got it. It's a rush to be as quiet as possible!
