Damn, three bards up in this. Now I'm thinking I should have gone synthesist. Whateva', I'll have to just write a good backstory.
Three bards...but how many of them are sippin' on gin and juice?
(...And now I'm listening to Reincarnated. I guess I haven't been following Snoop for a while.)

DM Crustypeanut |

Four bards. My RL friend is aiming towards a Gnoll Thundercaller Bard.
I don't mind bringing more than one bard in, though. In a few days I'll make a list of all the entries so we can see what there is in a more organized fashion.
...and there are five bards if you include Dr. Pinkerton, though he's not a full bard.
Maybe we should just all be bards, and have a music tour through the planes? XD

DM Crustypeanut |

What year.. I'm not sure actually.. I'll check with Rob. As for Nex, I think they would have only been affected by the large numbers of Refugees - I'll double check with Rob.
As for four bards.. I'm completely alright with an all-bard campaign if it ends up being that way. I'm going to make sure I tailor the fights somewhat to the players, so that they'll be able to use all of their abilities, since there are fewer fights.
Having 4 or more bards will just mean you guys will sing people to death. And considering my friend's Thundercaller archetype, she'll be able to.. bark them.. to death - literally. (Sound Burst as a performance at level 3)

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I enjoyed this post, envisioning an all bard 5-person band/party, designed so that all buffs will actually stack:
Court Bard - Lead Singer
Magician - Bass
Daredevil - Lead Guitar
Archivist - Keyboard
Savage Skald - Drums
Maybe Unafe needs to invest a couple skill points in Perform (Rattle)... ;-)

Reknarok |

A very big dot for this one - I have heard and read a lot ov good things about The Ruins of Pathfinder. I am currently on vacations so my submission will only be done probably sometime during next weekend.
I tend to fall into Guardian characters, and the guy in this alias, was done exactly with this perspective in mind, both mechanically and in background. I will probably go forward with him and ask you also to take a look at his background.
On the other hand, I have been trying to steer somewhat away from the martial obsession, and go for full support, to that effect I would play an Oracle of Life.
Lets stick to Rekbarok here for the time being though :D
His crunch is not at the correct level, but it can give you an idea of the intended progress.
Let me know your thoughts.

Nexander Davramputi |

Okay. Jelani here. Going to post once with Xander's actual alias so it's easier to find. I should be pretty much finished. I'd like to add a little more detail about the Xontani stuff, but I need a timeline first. I'd love any feedback you'd care to give Crusty.
As he got older, he began to visit the temples and libraries of the towns and cities that they visited. He was voracious, reading everything he could get his hands on. Nexander was growing tall, but his lack of physical activity was making him scrawny and uncoordinated. His mother saw this imbalance and took steps to correct it. She made Nexander wake with the dawn every day to run and practice acrobatics for four hours. Only then would she release him to go and devour whatever local books he could find. By the time Nexander grew into an adolescent he had developed a keen erudition, and a hard, coordinated body. His father was getting older. He began to spend more time with Soweena and Xander (as Nexander now took to being called). Arvinder was happy to have the time with his son, and was extremely proud of what the boy was growing into. Arvinder began to train Xander to use firearms and conventional weapons.
By the time Xander was sixteen he was as tall as a grown man. He could climb any tree or cliff he'd come across. Xander could make a twenty foot long jump standing*. He could pick locks, disable traps and move as quietly and stealthily as a cat. His shooting was accurate and he was passable with a sword. He could out speak and out debate many "sages" on almost any subject magical or religious, and could hold his ground even when discussions turned to other fields. He had figured out a few basic cantrips and spells and was on his way to learning more.
*current world record for standing long jump is 12.17 feet
It was a couple of years later that something terrible happened to Arvinder. The family was near the southern border of Nex in the Mana Wastes, Arvinder was out hunting a bounty. The target was a half-orc who had stolen some advanced firearms schematics from Alkenstar and was on the run with them. Arvinder was in his fifties, and no longer had the reflexes or skills of a young man. While tracking the fugitive through the wastes, Arvinder was attacked by one of the nameless monsters spawned by the fleshforges of Nex. The creature nearly killed him, destroying his right arm and both of his legs. Arvinder would have died if Xander himself hadn't gone out looking for him. Xander found his father unconscious, a bloody ruin. He took Arvinder back to Soweena as quickly as possible, and she was able to prevent him from dying by singing shut most of his wounds. What she couldn't do was restore his limbs.
From that day Arvinder could no longer work as a bounty hunter. He gave his handmade revolver, Betty, to Nexander as thanks for saving his life. Arvinder told Xander that he was a man now, able to take care of himself. He said that a man needs a good gun. Soweena and Arvinder decided to go and live with her widowed sister in Quantium. She could sing in the inns there to earn money and Arvinder could do some basic gunsmith work with his remaining hand. With Alkenstar capitalizing on the global disaster economy by exporting massive amounts of guns, the demand for gunsmiths was growing rapidly. Xander wished the best for them, but he decided he couldn't settle down in Quantium. All his life all he'd known was travel, and there was still so much more for him to learn and see. Besides, he had a goal now. He would find a powerful artifact to protect himself, that way nothing could ever destroy him the way the fleshforged beast destroyed his father. Xander traveled with them to Quantium and then caught a ship headed for Merab in search of adventure. He avoided the devastation of Katapesh, but made a long stop in Sothis to visit the libraries there.
While in Sothis he met an adventuring crew that called themselves Dentak's Demons. They were led by a human cleric of Nethys named Dentak. The rest of the group was a tiefling witch called Vyshuraah and a Mwangi barbarian named Otoko. Dentak and Xander started talking over drinks in the common room of their inn. Dentak was impressed with the breadth and depth of Xander's magical knowledge, especially in one so young. Dentak's Demons had recently lost their fourth member, a forlorn half-drow archer, to a raiding party of gnolls in the desert. It came up that both Xander and the group were headed to Merab next. When Xander assured Dentak of his ability with Betty, Dentak offered him a place in the Demons. During the journey to Merab Dentak filled Xander in on their mission --to recover one of the legendary Sun Orchids. Xander had never been so excited in his life. Sun Orchids were nearly artifacts in and of themselves.
They arrived in Merab and outfitted themselves for the desert. After securing camel mounts, they struck out for the Div infested region of desert known to hold Sun Orchids. The first trial they faced was the Water Lords. Nominally tribal warlords, they are in reality little more than bandits. The Demons were ambushed on their second night out of Merab by eight men riding camels. The first thing the raiders did was kill the Demons' own mounts. Xander quickly called up some dancing lights. Then he shot one of the riders while Vyshuraah cursed one with magical slumber. Otoko cut two more of their heads off, they rode past him. Dentak called down a blessing onto the group, just before he and Vyshuraah were ridden down by the remaining four riders. They leaped out of the way, but not before receiving stab wounds from the Water Lords' spears. Xander shot another of the riders dead as Vyshuraah cursed another with sleep. Otoko cut the legs off a third raider's camel, flinging him from the saddle and breaking his neck. The last rider fled, only to be shot in the back by Xander. Dantek healed himself and the witch, thanking Xander profusely. Otoko finished off the sleepers two sleepers by slitting their throats. Xander had fought with them, now he was truly one of Dantek's Demons. That night they smoked flayleaf they found on one of the Water Lords, and danced under the stars.
The next day was spent facing challenges of a different kind. The sun was merciless. It beat down on them so hot that their protective magics couldn't stop them from sweating a little. Even with the heat magically mitigated, the work of trudging through the sand at a forced march all day was brutal. After sixteen hours of marching, they finally arrived in the area known to have Orchids. They combed the nearby dunes, and eventually found a small hidden oasis. They were incredibly lucky, Dantek's Demons found a single Sun Orchid in full bloom next to the water of the pool. After harvesting it, the exhausted but ecstatic group collapsed into sleep. Otoko agreed to keep the first watch.
Xander awoke to the massive barbarian's screams. Otoko was stabbing himself in the eye with his sword. Xander called up his orbs of magical light and was startled to see three huge eyes peering into the oasis from the darkness. Draped in rags and hunched over on goat like legs, the creatures had featureless faces, save for their single large eyes ringed by fangs. Divs! Xander recognized them as Agash, terrifying, hag like beings. The wretched creatures hold nothing sacred. They take particular pleasure in bringing vain or arrogant mortal spellcasters to ruin. Agash delight in torturing attractive mortals by slowly destroying their beauty and personalities.
Xander knew that he was an attractive, arrogant spellcaster, and that he was the least experienced of the group. He looked around at the awakening adventurers that had taken him in. They'd crossed some of the harshest terrain on Golarion together, and they'd found a rare and precious treasure by working as a team. He looked at them, his friends. He looked at Otoko stabbing his own eye out, and he had only one thought, Oh, hells no! Xander grabbed his bag, turned to the endless dunes, and ran. He could hear the screams as the other members of Dantek's Demons were torn to shreds by the Divs. He didn't stop running until his legs gave way under him, and then he crawled until he couldn't any more. He woke up with sand in his mouth and nose. Half his face was badly sunburned and he was being pecked by a vulture. Xander shooed the bird away, and then quickly used a spell from his nearly depleted wand to protect himself from the heat. He had enough water for two days, and a very rough idea of where Merab was.
By some miracle Xander wandered into Merab three days later. He was delirious from thirst and exposure. The guards took him to a temple of Irori where he recovered over the next week. Due the disastrous failure of Dantek's Demons, he was too shamed to look for work in Merab again. After paying the priests of Irori he booked passage back to Sothis. After arriving in the half destroyed, chaotic city he started looking for work. Xander heard that there was going to be a planetary alignment soon, which would uncover vast stretches of ruins in the desert. The word was that adventurers were wanted in Eto. He signed on with a caravan traveling from Sothis to Eto as a guard. Once he arrived in the desert city, he managed to secure a position with Dr. Pinkerton's expedition. He was to be an expert in the fields of magic, religion and monsters. He would also serve as a scout, trapbreaker and ranged combat specialist. Xander sees the expedition as his second chance, and as a great opportunity to learn more and possibly even get his hands on some powerful magic items.

Sarthos |

So, got everything in presentable form, though (major) changes are still quite possible.
Feedback (or if anyone finds errors) are always welcome, not only from the GM.
He had been near perfection once. The doors of Iroris realm stood open wide and release from the cycle of rebirth was at hand.
Yet he couldn't let go. Not because he wanted to return, but because he was not satisfied with himself. He might have mastered spirit, body and mind to inhuman degrees, but did he attain perfection? No.
How could he? He was still only a man after all, far removed from the ideal set by his god. And thus he returned.
Again and again and again.Countless times he returned.
Over time he started to grow frustrated, a deep frustration at his own insufficiency that even penetrated each fresh life. And while he couldn't give up on his quest, it started to hinder him more in each new life.
Now, most of his recent lives have been rather 'normal'. Good lives, that would still make most gods and probably even Irori proud, but far removed from the glory of his past. The last time he attained the rank of master now lies more than 400 years back and even the times he becomes a monk at all are growing scarcer.
This life, with its exceptionally good start, could be his last, best chance of enlightenment.
Will he overcome his limits or accept his imperfection? Or will he maybe come to another conclusion altogether?
Sarthos was born in Tar Kuata on the 12th of Pharast, 4682 AR and orphaned at the young age of 4. Luckily for him, one the monasteries oracles had identified him as the reincarnation of a master that lived there almost 1000 years ago and they thus decided to take him in and train him.
He doesn't remember much of his life before becoming an novice, but he does very well remember the long days of hard study and training that followed.
While he seemed overly talented and mastering new things often seemed more like remembering long forgotten knowledge, he also easily grew frustrated if something didn't go well and got easily distracted.
Where it not for the hard hand of his teachers, he often would have gladly thrown it all away.
But while even they were sometimes near despair at his impatience and sudden outbursts, in the end he managed to discipline himself. Mostly.
Yet in the end he still completely disappointed and enrage his mentors when he announced that he didn't plan to spend the rest of his live in silent contemplation, studying and teaching. Instead he wanted to leave the monastery and start wandering the world, for there was nothing left that he could learn here.
Yet, while they thought it a great loss to let a promising monk go and some even whispered that they wasted to much on him, ultimately Iroris teaching gave no reason to keep him and so he left 9 years ago.
Since then he's wandered here and there, from the wide plains of Katapesh, through the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse and swamps of the Sodden Land.
After almost a decade of zigzagging through most of Garund he recently decided to make his way northward to Avistan. Foolishly he decided to move through Rahadoum, the Kingdom of Man, believing that his path of self perfection would not raise their ire. Yet he underestimated the zeal of the Pure Legion.
While he rid himself of the small wooden hand, his only open symbol of worship, and thus got into the country without problem, waiting for a northbound ship in Aziz proved disastrous.
It all in the tavern he stayed in, when an overjoyed sailor wanted to buy a round for the whole house after winning a large sum gambling.
Being opposed to intoxication, Sarthos had to politely refuse, but doing so still roused the ire of the already quite tipsy donor.
Things then went as they often do: The sailor protested loudly, another drunkard thought he was the curses' intended target, felt bugged and mugged up.
Soon thereafter the whole tavern erupted in one big, drunken brawl while Sarthos just sat at the bar, shacking his head.
Well, at least until one patron got hit across his throat by a fractured bottle and started to bleed out under a table, unnoticed by the rest.
Feeling slightly responsible for the whole chaos, the monk felt compelled to help even though being clear about that it might hinder him later on. After unsuccessfully trying to manually stop the bleeding, he made sure that no one watched him. The he discretely and heavy-hearted called upon his magic to close the cut before returning to the bar and waiting for tempers to cool.
He never found out who had reported him, but that very night a whole squad of the Pure Legion stormed his room mid meditation, brutally apprehending him.
Then things went fast. He couldn't really deny to be religious and thus the stake was prepared only a few hours later.
As the flames started to lick up his body, his discipline started to fail and he would have screamed were it not for the suffocating smoke, smoke so thick he couldn't even see out of it anymore.
Then he lost consciousness.
Yet no hard, cold death awaited him, instead he feel into deep dreams.
Hazy dreams of lifes come before, dreams of success and failure. But no matter how great or small, all led to a deep feeling of frustration, growing with each iteration and soon becoming almost to much to bear. The last thing, the only thing he clearly remembers are three word, spoken softly, yet still threatening, like an annoyed parent establishing an ultimate choice "Accept or Overcome.".
Next thing he remembers is waking up on a dune slightly outside Duwwor, dreams fading fast. The outer signs of the fire had somehow been reduced to small, mildly painful scars and patches of pinkish skin, though he soon found the mental images of his own burning flesh far harder to shake and he was ever since filled with a feeling of dread when near open fire.
Not sure what exactly to make of his strange rescue, he at first played with the thought about taking up his original plan and trying to get northward, this time embarking in Merab instead. But when he entered Duwwor proper, he the received terrible news that he was not the only one to suffer fire recently, that his martyrdom was even dwarfed by the events in the east.
Xotani the Firebleeder had returned and all but glassed Katapesh during a single night, sending ten thousands to seek refuge in Osirion. Just having suffered the terror of burning alive himself he could not help but care and immediately decided to return to his homeland, trying to help where he can. Even though it might not be the most advantageous thing for his enlightenment, what worth is it to become perfect if around you the world get near its end?
Sarthos looks like a osirion monk as there are thousand others. A Garundi man in his early thirties, black hair and beard shaved bald and clad in simple robes, he is all but unassuming. Or at least he would be where it not for the small scars and patches of rosy pink flesh that line most of his body, the top of his head being the only notable exception. They, together with a deep, seemingly uncharacteristic weariness in his brown eyes and measured movements make him seem far older than he is.
Sarthos is a kind and humble man, possessing strong discipline and will, yet being sometimes carried away by his desire to help.
Believing that everyone should find his or her own way, he tries to only give council when asked and refrains from scolding people for doing what in his eyes are essentially chaotic, useless things.
On the other hand he is sometimes prone to sudden outbursts of frustration if things do not work out. While those are generally focused at himself, his inner tension can also make him cutty towards other peoples shortcomings.
In general, he is not someone that's good talking to people, especially since his newish scars can be somewhat off-putting. Yet he doesn't really care, for the ultimate goal is enlightenment, not being well liked or proselytization. He is quite good at listening though, believing that one can learn from everyone, no matter how insignificant.
Ever since his close encounter with a fiery death, he is also ridden by a offsetting aversion against open flames, even starting to slightly shake if they come to near.
While he abstain from alcohol and all kind of drugs, he is surprisingly fond of good food. Missing the simple but delicious cloister cuisine more than he would admit, he is always happy to try local food.
Drawback: [urr=http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/drawbacks/burned]Burned[/url]
Pretty self explanatory. If you for some reason don't want us to use that one, as its pretty harsh in case there are a lot of fire users, I could change to "doubt".
Story Feat: Apothesis
I have to admit, that I found it kinda hard to find one that fits. this one is pretty useless in a mythic game (the pre-completion benefit does almost nothing and him actually going ending up near perfection is far from sure) but it is the best fit.
If you think this goal to far-fetched, "arisen" would also kinda work for him.
The mythic trait on the other hand went in pretty nicely. I guess you planned it this way, but giving an +2 Will bonus to a wisdom-based character with strong will-saves seems slightly overkill at low levels.^^
I plan to dual path with trickster.
Sarthos is pretty much just a Champion of the Enlightened-fluffed battle cleric.
I changed to this, because I indeed wasn't sure how well Champion of the Enlightened would go with the corruption mechanic. This way going down the deep end is at least an option.
Also my test mythic CotE builds got "slightly" out of hand on the damage side, this should give a lot more utility while still being somewhat useful in meele (once he goes Mythic at least).
For now he is mostly support, casting spells and doubling someones meele damage with Inquisitor’s Direction.
I'm not sure yet if I'll take 1 or 2 more monk level (probably not), but mechanically he'll pretty much almost full (meele) cleric.
A full sheet can be found here.

Traits Heavy Hitter, Magical Knack, Rahadoumi Exile
Drawback Burned
--------------------------------
Heavy Hitter:Sarthos was trained in Martial Art from a young age.
Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus on damage rolls made with unarmed attacks.
Magical Knack:Not only was Sarthos raised in one of the most mythical monasteries of Golarion, his former lives give him a further guidance.
Benefit: Pick a class when you gain this trait—your caster level in that class gains a +2 trait bonus as long as this bonus doesn't raise your caster level above your current Hit Dice.
Rahadoumi Exile: A heretic. A blasphemer. Thats what the Pure Legion of Rahadoum would call Sarthos, having prosecuted and nearly executed him for his beliefs. But, as chance would have it, he escaped. To this day he still does not understand how. The only explaination was that some higher being had to have helped him. He never met this supposed rescuer, retaining a half remembered dream as the only sign. But his dedication has only been empowered by this feeling. Fleeing Rahadoum as a refugee, he eventually came to Osirion, hoping to help the survivors of Xotani's rampage where you can.
Benefit: +2 to Will Saves
Burned: Ever since he was burned alive, he can't shake a feeling of unease, even panic when near open fire.
Effect: You take a –1 penalty on saving throws against fire effects.
In addition, whenever you are adjacent to open flames or are on fire, you take a –1 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks until you spend an entire round away from fire. These penalties are not cumulative. (An instantaneous fire effect adjacent to you or affecting you causes this penalty to apply until 1 round after it is gone.)
Channel Smite: Before you make a melee attack roll, you can choose to spend one use of your channel energy ability as a swift action. If you channel positive energy and you hit an undead creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel positive energy ability. If you channel negative energy and you hit a living creature, that creature takes an amount of additional damage equal to the damage dealt by your channel negative energy ability. Your target can make a Will save, as normal, to halve this additional damage. If your attack misses, the channel energy ability is still expended with no effect.
Guided Hand:Benefit: With your deity’s favored weapon, you can use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Strength or Dexterity modifier on attack rolls.
Dragon Style:Benefit: While using this style, you gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against sleep effects, paralysis effects, and stunning effects. You ignore difficult terrain when you charge, run, or withdraw. You can also charge through squares that contain allies. Further, you can add 1-1/2 times your Strength bonus on the damage roll for your first unarmed strike on a given round.

Crusty, can we work around the backstory for the Mythic arch-types? I am forming an idea, but it doesn't really fit in with the mythic backgrounds described.
Yeah we can work around 'em - I realize they're a bit railroady, so I'm perfectly fine with that. The bonuses will remain the same, however.

Glad you guys are digging it. Now that I'm moved into my new apartment I'm going to be spending time developing the wiki for the alternate reality, and I'll be making a page for Road to Damnation as well.

What year did Xotani destroy Katapesh in? Also, was Nex really affected by that at all?
Xotani was reborn and destroyed Katapesh in 4708, two years after Karzoug's return. He killed Khemet and destroyed half of Sothis in 4709, so Sothis has been in ruins for 4 years. Crusty has lots more info about Sothis' current condition and what remains there.
Nex has largely been unscathed by Xotani for two reasons:
1) Of all the cities in Nex, Quantium is a f#$%ing fortress in the most unbelievable of ways. The pair of Quantium Golems outside of the city are actually strong enough to put a dent in Xotani, without even considering a cabal of mages working in concert from the battlements.
2) Xotani has been more active in the Darklands and to the west in the Mwangi Expanse than he has been to the south in Nex.
So 50/50 good defense/luck of the draw.

Unafe Two-Hearted |

Crusty, on the subject of Campaign Traits, I was able to work the Hierophant trait into Unafe's backstory easily...but I suspect her backstory provides a perfectly good hook without it too so I'd be fine with letting someone else be the one who got rescued in Rahadoum. Either way, I look forward to any questions, thoughts, or suggestions you have for Unafe's backstory.
Meanwhile, it's fun to see more applicants coming in. This is going to be a VERY strong pool. When do you expect to begin the roleplay portion of the application?

Hmm. Okay, much earlier than I expected. I guess Reign of Fire was the second AP published. I'll make some mention of those events in Xander's backstory. Seems like they are really the only part of the apocalypse that would have any effect on his life since the fallout from Serpent's Skull hasn't really hit eastern Garund yet.

DM, this is ShadowyFox's alchemist.
I definitely need to work out his background, to explain the timing of where he was for various things, since he's going to be taking the trickster trait. Basically saying he's from Alkenstar, went out to make a name for himself, failed horribly and was scarred quite badly, socially, physically, and emotionally.
He's a bit distant, and when he failed, he left his burgeoning contacts in the sun orchid trade to head back to Alkenstar for additional training.
Thoughts on dates and timing?

Setting on an Alchemist for this game. Just too perfect to pass up.
Ok, so this will be my first PBP on the Paizo site. I've got a couple of questions:
(1) Where/how do we submit our character's backstory, stats and otherwise?
(2) How does conflict resolution/dice rolling work?
(3) Are there a set of PBP rules I can reference before I submit my character?

DM Crustypeanut |

The Gameplay thread is up! Do note I changed it up a bit compared to the original recruitment thread's post. I'll admit, I couldn't come up with anything good for the journey to Eto, so instead, the prologue begins just as you arrive to the city instead!
Thanks to a combination of caffeine and insomnia, I'm now going to look through everyone's posts and answer any questions I can.

1) Create a new alias and put the stats and stuff in that, then post here with that alias.
2) by typing {dice}xdy{/dice}, where the {'s need to be replaced with ['s. You can roll any type of dice that way. X = number of dice, y = type of dice. My below example would be typed as {dice=For Example}1d33+250{/dice}, again with { = [.
For Example: 1d33 + 250 ⇒ (27) + 250 = 277
3)I'm not sure what you mean - just general play by post rules, or ones specific to my play by post?

If he went back to Alkenstar after leaving Thuvia, it probably would have been a year or so since the failed Sun Orchid expedition - maybe longer. It mainly depends on how long he stayed in Alkenstar before heading to Sothis.

How about an heir to the throne in osirion?
A younger brother of Khemet?
would those things be a possibility?
Negatory - Khemet III has two younger siblings, the twin heirs Ojan and Jasilia. Both of them will apparently play a role in the upcoming Mummy's Mask adventure path that comes out after Wrath of the Righteous - or so I've heard.
Khemet III would not have had any other true siblings.. though theres always the possibility of an illegitimate bastard child of Khemet III's father. That, or one of the children of Khemet II's five siblings - most of them don't seem to have been mentioned, except Kasiya, sixth son of Khemet I, a pathfinder who died attacking a herd of dinosaurs in the Mwangi Expanse in the mid-47th century.

When do you expect to begin the roleplay portion of the application?
...You have a Spinosaurus companion. That.. will be awesome to see. Has it eaten any satellite phones recently? :P
I do want to warn you that you will have an extremely hard time finding replacement animal companions in this campaign. Though, if you are unable to replace it, you can always retrain into a domain.
Reading your background.. I must echo Rob's comments in that I am extremely impressed!

So, got everything in presentable form, though (major) changes are still quite possible.
Feedback (or if anyone finds errors) are always welcome, not only from the GM.** spoiler omitted **

Fire as a weakness.. might be a bit ‼fun‼(In the Dwarf Fortress sense) to have.. so its up to you on that.
Reason I gave the Hierophant Trait a bonus to Will Saves is because in all likely hood, they stand to lose the most if they 'fall from grace' through corruption. I figure that, of all of the Mythic Paths, the Faithful would be the most difficult to corrupt.
But yeah, +10 Will is pretty dang impressive at level 2! Silly 1/1 multiclassing with Will being a strong save for both :P
Not bad with the background! Monk/Clerics have always been an interesting combination, and Irori is a neat god to work with.

Teller of Tales |

Well, the downside of the 1/1 multiclass is the 0 BAB.^^
If Will saves are important for corruption, then its fine. Though going with Cleric instead of the Champion, a fall from grace is no mechanical apocalypse anymore. Falling all the way and coming to the conclusion that true perfection is only found in oblivion or perfect entropy (or something like that) is thus at least theoretical possible without screwing the crunch over.
I'll put up an introductory post in the gameplay thread later, no time right now.

Narciso Dihar Omari wrote:If he went back to Alkenstar after leaving Thuvia, it probably would have been a year or so since the failed Sun Orchid expedition - maybe longer. It mainly depends on how long he stayed in Alkenstar before heading to Sothis.DM, this is ShadowyFox's alchemist.
He probably would have stayed 2 years to pick up some unique, rare tricks to give him a leg up on the competition.

Unafe Two-Hearted |

Crusty, thanks for your kind words! As I said to Rob, the setting and campaign teaser -- plus thinking about who I'd like to see make a transition to Mythic -- really got my juices flowing.
Fair warning regarding replacing my dear spinosaurus. Hopefully it at least lives long enough for me to be corrupted into a necromancer so that I can turn it into a brain-eating zombisaurus companion. ROAWR!
More seriously, it's possible I'll want to take the Raise Animal 1st tier Guardian ability at some point (or that we'll want to have someone in the group take it) if Mkali isn't the only pet around...or else just be conservative about keeping her alive. Great to know that retraining for a Domain would be an option too.

I am definitely interested in playing. Working on a couple of concepts right now but one question before I go more into them -
Are you anticipating the campaign being heavier on urban / indoor settings or more wilderness, crazy planar landscape type settings?
One concept I was kicking around involved Mammoth Rider (not on an actual mammoth but some huge beast), which sounded fantastic in an oversized, high adventure, planar, mythic campaign but it depends a lot on setting.

Okay. Jelani here. Going to post once with Xander's actual alias so it's easier to find. I should be pretty much finished. I'd like to add a little more detail about the Xontani stuff, but I need a timeline first. I'd love any feedback you'd care to give Crusty.

Sorry I didn't get a response up to your character earlier, it was 4 am, my caffeine wore off, and my insomnia fell asleep. I followed suit shortly after.
I enjoyed the backstory! Laughed out loud when you took a moment to think of your comrades and allies, then decided to get the hell out of there. Definitely CN, but hilarious in the way you put it.

Combination between crazy, planar wilderness and dungeon delving for the most part - there will be a little bit of urban, but its not the focus.
So in the wilderness settings, a large creature will be fine - in the dungeon delve.. it still might be fine, considering these dungeons/ruins weren't necessarily made for human-sized people.

Bet that was a fun way to die. o.O
interesting!
