Posh Nanjet |

How's the roof look? There a chimney?
Slowly, quietly, Posh steps a little farther from the building. Attempting to keep the bigger meat sacks between himself and the door, he whispers "I don't think they're going to surrender. We may have to use force."
Glancing up to the roof, he considers their situation.
Stealth?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Here's what I'm thinking: Monkey Fish on Kar? When ready, Kar comes from the ceiling, Jader through the front door?

GM Nayr |

The building seems quite sturdy - whoever built it took pride in it. There is a chimney - oriented over the main portion of the building against the western wall - opposite of the wall at which you stand. There's also an open chimney/flue over the smithing area.
You move about outside and make a general clatter, no doubt making those inside even more anxious than they already are.

Vashina Hasak |

Vashina gets her weapon ready and tries to keep up with Tess as the group all move up to surround the building.
stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

Kar Roden |

Kar whispers to the group, asks them to pass it along.
Remember, do not kill them. We don't know if they were involved in what happened here or just moved in afterwards.

Posh Nanjet |

Noting the physical man's lack of response to his suggestion, Posh shrugs and takes another step back, waiting for the inevitable to happen.
Nodding to Kar, he adds in a hushed tone "That may be, but they have a tribe near by. We let them leave and they'll be back in force."

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader sends his whispered thoughts to Posh via his Message spell
”While we would like to question them, the main objective is to not let them escape. In my experience with goblins back home they are not likely to negotiate, nor would they likely know very much only being three of them in an entirely deserted town with no evidence of a confrontation to show what happened here. My guess is they know very little. I’m ready to move in, perhaps your spell to climb to the chimney is not such a bad idea if Kar is willing”

Kar Roden |

Kar whispers back, and looks at the group sternly as well. That they may. But we also have no evidence that they were involved in whatever happened to the colonists. They may simply be opportunists. And I will not condone the death of any sentient being simply because it is convenient for us. Will any of you? Also, I see little point of me being on the roof. It is unlikely that I will fit through the chimney and I have no training with ranged weaponry. I'm of more use down here where I may attempt to subdue them.

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader is a little frustrated with the moral compass of the party pointing in the direction it is. Before walking into the house he whispers the following
”In case you didn’t notice I am a half orc. My whole life has been that of hatred and ridicule towards me just because of what I look like and my racial background. These creatures are goblins and they are innately evil. While I don’t necessarily believe we should kill them I am certain that that is exactly what they would try to do to us. I think we need information and that is what I am going to get. Even though I think these creatures have little to no information that they can give. I will try not to kill but I will defend myself
After his whispered speech Jader walks into the house like he owns the place but poised and ready for battle
plan on fighting defensively as Jader enters
He walks in and announces in broken Common/Orcish ”Little goblin scum those legendary heroes are coming. They will be here within a minute or two my friends are the only ones keeping those heroes from killing you. So if you don’t want your carcasses stuck on a pike after being burned to death then you should speak to me and then run for your lives!”

GM Nayr |

As soon as Jader walks through the door, the little beasts attack! They are obviously stirred up with fear, and launch into battle as if they fight for their existence.
initiative gobbos: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
initiative Jader: 1d20 ⇒ 18
initiative Tess: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
initiative Kal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
initiative Kar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
initiative Posh: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
initiative Vashina: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Jader, Tess, Vashina, and Kar all up!

Kar Roden |

Kar seems almost physically stunned by the sheer amount of assumptions, racism, and hypocrisy that Jader just managed to fit into one statement. So stunned that he almost doesn't register that Jader has made his way into the building to threaten them again. When he does, he sighs deeply. No doubt Jader will see their self-defense as sign that he was right. Well, let us see what his plan is to draw them out of the building.

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader waits and takes a defensive position. He then announces to the goblins
”Come out! Don’t attack and you won’t be harmed. I want to talk. Come on out”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Jader scans the room for the goblins while protecting himself the best he can behind his shield
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
total defense position taken +4 dodge bonus to AC= 20, also he’s got darkvision if that is important in this circumstance

GM Nayr |

Jader sees the three goblins within, but no other figures or dangers are evident. The place is divided between personal living quarters and an indoor tool storage and work area. There's a small worktable, or maybe improvised sales counter directly in front of Jader, blocking him from the goblins to the west.
The table is low enough that it would be easy to swing overtop of it
The goblins look at each other in confusion, no doubt trying to filter out the meaning of Jader's tone and stance, even though they obviously do not recognize the words.
They don't seem to immediately rush in; figuring Tess is delaying her action, how about Kar and Vashina?

Vashina Hasak |

Vashina is quite confused what is happening. She trusts that Jader has a plan and waits to see if he needs supporting later if the plan doesn't go as expected.
With the whispered messages and shouting i think Vashina would be quite confused right now. As the group has dealt with a couple of threats and seems competent enough she's going to wait a moment and see what happens.

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader addresses the goblins in Orcish to see if they understand him.
”We wish to talk not harm you. Do you understand me?”
Jader then waits for a response. If they don’t seem to understand or react then Jader yells out the door ”Posh let them know that we wish to talk and find out what happened to all the people that used to be here and we don’t wish to kill or harm these goblins ”

GM Nayr |

Posh relays the message in the goblins' own language, quickly filling the tense silence. The little creatures seem to get some of the words form Jader, or perhaps they just understand his relaxed stance and the inflection of his placating words.
The goblins stand ready to attack, but one to the west puts a hand out to stave off his fellows. He then speaks back to Jader, in the creature's own language.
Haakhaan gharthaan den halaan khruur maagaan. Huurakhaar shuulkaan ac shal! Dekaan rhaan rhan tuuc, ac haakhaan khruur shuulkaan rhan!
Safe to assume that Posh translates, so feel free to read the spoiler

Posh Nanjet |

Yes Posh would translate. Was waiting on initiative to get around to me. :-P
"Well, that sounds ominous...Anything else you'd like me to ask them?"

Tessamine Oceancalled |

Tess walks inside calmly, her arms relaxed and her stance unguarded.
"If their intent is just to squat here now that the 'people' are gone, I wonder how they react to the fact there's a whole boat full of people ready to inhabit it? Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it might be enough to convince them to leave."

Posh Nanjet |

Staying outside so as to avoid any potential...misunderstanding with a fist...or worse, Posh calls out. "Vim li cas longshanks tsis rov tuaj? Vim li cas lawv tawm mus?"
"Dab tsi npaj koj muaj rau qhov chaw tam sim no? Cia li tsiv neeg hauv? Yuav ua li cas bout lub nkoj ntawm kev lom zem hom tuaj?"
"Lawv tsis zoo li peb. Lawv tsuas xav mob thiab tua"
"Why longshanks no come back? Why they leave?
What plan you has for place now? Just move tribe in? What bout the boat of adventure types coming?"
"They not nice like us. They only want hurt and kill"

GM Nayr |

The apparent leader puffs out his chest and stands tall...respectively...as he shouts back excitedly.
Kuukac lhon huun. Okaan druul daan maagaan, khraash druul daan huukaan Huurakhaar dekaan ghuugaan ac, or khruul! O huun ac daach daal - or khruul!

Kar Roden |

That was what I was looking for, about the colonists.
Kar looks frustrated by the lack of information. And that these creatures are proving so unhelpful after he tried to convince the others that they might be.

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader speaks in common to the rest of the party, but he eyes the goblins for signs of recognition of what he says or signs of attack
”So ...IF... these goblins can be trusted we have ten days before the tribe comes. The question is do these three have to report back to give the tribe the all clear or if the tribe will just come anyway. The other question is if we send the goblins back to tell the tribe that the area is not clear will they do it or will the tribe come in force and try and take it. All of this is of course whether or not any such tribe exists or these goblins are just loner opportunists”
Perception: 1d2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Thinking that the goblins are cowed and are completely full of crap Jader only casually looks their way
” I myself am of the opinion that these goblins are full of crap and there isn’t a tribe. Whatever took the settlers could have easily taken goblins as well and we have yet to see any footprints or signs that the settlers were hauled off on the ground. So that likely rules out goblins as the culprits. My guess is the goblins if they have a tribe are scoping this settlement out to look for signs of danger before they move in. But again that is IF there is a tribe at all”

Kar Roden |

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Well, Mr. GM, how does Kar feel about the veracity of the goblin's claims? I believe it's a -4 for not speaking the same language, which leaves me with a 20 total.

GM Nayr |

Kar takes the time during the back and forth to watch the exchange and the mannerisms of the goblins. They're loud, boastful, and generally intolerable beings, but they're quite sure of themselves. He gets the feeling that these little fellows do indeed have a clan, and it's coming back. Of course, why these fellows pulled the short straw and we're told to stay here and guard is a mystery.

Kar Roden |

I share this info, quietly. I believe that with the help of those still on the ship, we came easily handle even a tribe of goblins. Regretfully, I do not believe that we should allow these to rejoin their clan.

Posh Nanjet |

With but a nod, Posh looks from one companion to the other. "So we have an accord then? Take them down. If they resist, do so by force?"
A slight frown crosses his face as he considers the option. "If possible, lets not kill them. If we have to...that's unfortunate and we'll certainly give them a proper burial."

GM Nayr |

Everyone but Tess and Kal up before the gobs

Posh Nanjet |

With a solemn nod, Posh takes a few steps away so he can see through the door. Pointing a finger at the goblin straight ahead, he mumbles a phrase to himself.
"Amicus et Draconibus.
Eorum draconibus et finis"
"Dragons come and be friend.
Dragons come and be their end!"
The familiar shimmering red dragon's head shoots from his finger tip and soars around the building, before rocketting inward and exploding!
Free Action, Drop backpack.
Move 20 feet
Cast Snap Dragon Fireworks at Casterlevel 3 (Using an Arcane Point to boost)
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Goblin need a Reflex DC 16 vs dazzled (Link) for 1 round

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader moves into position to attack the nearest goblin. Cognizant of the party’s moral compass he attempts to only do non lethal damage.
+1 green sword attack non lethal: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 5 - 4 = 16
non lethal damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

Kar Roden |

Kar moves into the room next to Jader in an attempt to deal with these threats quickly.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Non-Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
But he is thrown off balance by the fireworks rocketing past his face and misses with his swing.

Vashina Hasak |

Vashina calls on her connection to the spirits of nature to bless her allies and guide their weapons against the little goblin pests.
She casts Bless giving the party +1 to attack rolls and saves against fear effects for the next minute.

GM Nayr |

Goblin reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Kar leaps in quickly and attacks, only to be foiled by the sudden fireworks streaking forth from Posh. Vashina, watching his attack miss, calls upon her faith to guide their hands in combat. Then, Posh's dragon streaks through the doorway and slams into the goblin in front of Kar. It sizzles as it scorches the goblin's skin, and the creature cries out, blinking away the sudden spots in his vision. Dazzled
Jader launches into his attack, and lands a massive bludgeoning blow on the goblin before him. The creature still stands, but is quite obviously in terrible pain and nearly asleep on his feet. Staggered
The goblins launch into their attack! The staggered one jabs forward with his spear in an attempt to keep Jader and his strong arms away, even as his fellow goblin blinks and stabs wildly at Kar.
Attack Jader: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Attack Kar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
The third little creature leaps down upon the stairs to jab its spear at Kar from the side.
Attack Kar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The two affected goblins hit nothing with their strikes, but the last goblin takes advantage of his slightly higher position, and jams his spear into Kar, drawing blood.
4 damage to Kar; Bold and you're up
Vashina
Posh
Jader
Goblin 1 (staggered)
Goblin 2 (dazzled)
Goblin 3
Kal
Tess

Kar Roden |

Kar stays on the offensive, switching to the creature on the stairs.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Non-Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Still have a move action, but I need to know if this knocks the goblin out or not.

Tessamine Oceancalled |

Unable to properly reposition inside, Tess attempts to throw her dagger past Kar into one of the goblins.
"Apologies! I'm currently not in a position to knock them out!"
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Jader Silvertongue |

if possible jader wants to knock down the staggered and dazed goblins if they are close enough to reach both. Otherwise he’ll attack the closest hopefully that is the dazed one if he can 5 foot step to reach it
OMB attack roll: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 1 = 23
Or
+1 long sword non lethal: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 1 - 4 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
I was just reading about non lethal damage and if the damage exceeds the creatures hit points then it is unconscious. Is that the case with the one Jader hit or are it’s hp exactly 13?

Kalathiel Lenavei |

I assume I'm near the window on the south side. If not, I'll move the five feet to it.
Kalathiel snatches a small vial off his belt, popping the top off with his thumb and imbibing it. As the extract goes down his throat, he can feel the magical energy gathering in his gut. It swells and moves up his throat; he gathers it and spits it at the goblin closest to him.
Casting Adhesive Spittle. I don't believe I have to make a ranged attack roll for it.

GM Nayr |

Goblin reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
The goblin that is barely remaining on his feet finds it suddenly even more difficult as Kal's strong adhesive suddenly covers his form. The fellow struggles weakly against it, but the adhesive holds him fast.
Tess, if you account for throwing into melee, then that'd be a miss; do you have something to negate that? Jader, with the staggered fellow now stuck to the floor, do you want to focus on the fellow above him, and I can't remember if you crit for non-lethal, but please roll for it if so. Kar - no, that wouldn't knock him down.

Kar Roden |

Then Kar will have a prepared action for his move that if a space becomes available to 5 foot step into, he will do so. Trying to free up some room in the room.

Posh Nanjet |

Out of internet range until Thursday night/Friday morning time period for the most part. Then back to normal. Phone is refusing to load the map.
Attempting to target a different goblin, Posh shoots a second crimson dragon through the doorway.
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
only works if I can see the goblin. Would need a reflex save vs dazzled

Jader Silvertongue |

Jader will attack the dazed goblin with his above rolled attack
critical confirmation: 1d20 + 5 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 - 4 + 1 = 5
