Yes, we came here for the boy... which was what Biter was referring to. The boy very likely could be the disciple of the Chopper. I was just putting it in obscure, Biter terms.
Biter -- seeing that the group isn't quite ready to move on -- decides to be useful. He snoops around, his eyes, fingers, and nose touching on every item he comes into contact. All in all, it gives the impression of a sniffing dog searching for his quarry.

Biter pauses, setting his bow down quietly on the ground. Soundlessly, his tiny feet carry him to the end of the bed, blade whispering from its sheathe. The bed barely shifts as the tiny hunter climbs up on the footboard, perching on the end as he regards the covers with intense scrutiny.
Stealth to get into position silently: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25.
His hand flashes out in a blink, grabbing the covers and whipping them from the bed… revealing whatever's underneath.

A small humanoid skeleton lies curled into a fetal position, still clutching in it's hands a small stuffed toy dog of what was once some red fuzzy material.
As Biter stares at the pitiful remains the strange sounds grow and a ghostly figure appears in the room, hovering over the hole. It appears to be the ghost of a small human child, its body scarred with the same birdlike images you've seen throughout this place. Even more terrifying is the fact it's head has been replaced with the skull of a bird.

Straehan slides around the hole in the floor, flanking the strange and sad creature. Pity doesn't stay his hand. With an odd set of movements that skirt the border between spellcasting and martial katas, the gnome fires a set of hooking kicks to the bird-boy's ribs. For just a second, his blurred foot almost looks as if it caught fire while it struck.

"Destroy that Attic Whisperer, once it is done we quickly need a proper pyre funeral for the child too, so that thing doesn't quickly return again! Use fire if you can, and keep an eye out for the necromancer as well!" Ryu shouts as he recognizes the creature.
Can I also attack now or is my turn used up due to the spell and the observation?

Burned by these damned bird worshippers before, the little warrior takes no chances. His diving leap carries him tumbling across the room and into a flanking position with the giant-man. As he rolls to his feet, adrenaline courses through his veins, fueling a vicious upward thrust, the momentum of which carries the goblin hunter up into the air.

He reaches for the paper to place it away. "May I consider this agreement acceptable then? I do not wish to take away more of your precious time my Lady, and I still have other matters to attend to myself." Ryu urges himself to still focus on this woman instead of already considering what to do when getting to the Kaijitsu Estate.
considering that I wasn't lucky with the initiative and the undead is likely to die before I am coming I withdraw to bed now :)

edit: lol, seems like Ryu takes this sworn Oath of the Hunter seriously
Ryu Kaijitsu |
No worries, can happen. Just let's continue with the past events playthrough so we manage to get through it before the current timeline group returns from the island.
Ryu looks at the remains between him and the nearby half-giant as he cleans his dagger. "The Oath of the Hunter has been almost fulfilled. While this creature is not made by a necromancer, one has to be around because the other ones." He then steps closer to the boy's corpse. "We need to make a new pyre right now, an Attic Whisperer is sure to return if not given a proper funeral for the boy." If it were unclear until now, it is sure that Ryu has more knowledge of the occult and undead than most people, not that this group is anything like made of "most people".
Straehan. |
Straehan shakes the bone fragments and Attic Whisperer dust from his robe after the giant's strike smashes the creature into particulate matter. "Nice work. Remind me to never step in front of your blade."
The gnome looks around the room, searching for anything relevant overlooked by his compatriots. He quickly skims the child's notes. "Well, this is a black tale. We have Chopper, the boy who probably starved to death in this miserable place, and presumably Chopper's patron - the Bishop. I'm assuming we'll be taking the child's remains for a proper burial?"
