Shanya |

Round 2: Actions
Move Action: Put Shortbow away
Standard Action: Start moving to engage Kalt's opponent, drawing my rapier as I move
Shanya puts her shortbow away and starts running to join Kalt in battle, drawing her rapier as she moves.

Sven Bjornson |
Sven grits his teeth and endure the painful blow as Tik's ward buckles under the force of the drakelander's attack. The big man grips his axe tightly and strikes back twice in rapid succession.
Primary: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 14 + 2 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 2 = 17
Iterative: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 2 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 2 = 17
AC is 26 currently.

DM Ranginui |

Sven manages to hit the stunned, disarmed barbarian twice, glancing blows that only sever tendon and not bone. The monstrous Triaxian holds on with fierce power to life, and slowly recovers from his stunned state.
Over the wall, the tower slowly advances as the huge cryohydras pulling it strain against the weight.
No enemy on the map gets a turn this round! Party up!
Barb 1 - 80 damage, stunned, disarmed
Barb 2 - 4 rounds
Dragonkin - 3 rounds
Tower 9 rounds

Kalt Ìsson |

Kalt takes a step closer to the wounded barbarian, intent on killing he man - but his attacks are feeble indeed and he fails to connect.
Five-foot step, full attack to no effect. Can't edit map at the moment.
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack, flank: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 2 = 18
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (2, 3, 4) + 7 + 9 = 25
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack, iterative, flank: 1d20 + 10 - 3 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 3 + 2 = 18
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (5, 4, 6) + 7 + 9 = 31

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

DM, did my Misfortune (DC 24) stick on either barbarian?
Motioning to the barbarian and dragonkin, Tiknesr calls out "I think those two will be retching for a bit longer, but at some point they're bound to get their fight back. Might as well send'm to the grave first, eh? Hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo, hee hee hee hee hee." he chuckles.
"Meanwhile, there's a little something I've been meaning to try for ages. I'm going to look dead in a second, but I appreciate you keeping me from getting actually dead. Aroden can look after my body as well. I'm going to send my soul into this gem here, and then see if I can create some carnage in the approaching line."
Tik pulls out a large red ruby, lies down, mutters an arcane spell, and seems to fall lifeless. Immediately Aroden starts to drag his body behind the nearest tower.
Move: Cackle to extend misfortune.
Stnd: Cast Magic Jar. Next round (as a full round) I'll try to possess the highest HD entity I can find over by the towers. I'm hoping to take over a hydra, but we'll see!
Aroden: drags Tik as shown on map.

DM Ranginui |

I wish I could change the color scheme. Sorry, missed that.. Won't saves 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Tik's curses cling to the barbarians, almost tangible with the cloying scent of coming death.
Both of the Kalt's immensely strong swings only manage to bounce off the stunned barbarians surprisingly thick armor.

Avora Teremocles |

Avora commands the ankylosaurus to continue its attack, even as she calls down divine fire from the heavens against the foe.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 Damage: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) + 12 = 28
Flame strike: 10d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 3, 5, 2, 4, 5, 5, 4) = 36 (half-fire/half-divine)

Sven Bjornson |
Sven is impressed that his opponent still stands. Before the barbarian can recover he strikes again in rapid succession.
Primary: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 14 + 2 = 35
Damage: 1d8 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 2 = 17
Iterative: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 2 = 16
Damage: 1d8 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 14 + 2 = 23

Shanya |

Round 3: Actions
Move Action: Move next to Sven
Swift Action: Study Sven's opponent
Standard Action: Stab Sven's Opponent
Shanya moves next to the burly berserker, eyes his opponent's wounds, and strikes with her rapier to widen them.
Stab: 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 3 = 33
Crit?: 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 3 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 3 = 8
Crit?: 1d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 3 = 5

DM Ranginui |

The barbarian manages to stumble mostly out of the way of the flame strike, but that only lands him in Sven and Shanya's blades. Under their combined assault he falls to the ground, dead.
There is a scream of ice scraping upon ice as the siege tower and it's cryohydra team loom closer to the walls of the fortress. The creatures snap and hiss under the strain of the load, but seem quite determined to reach the walls. The dozens of warriors cliging begin to throw javelins and curses at the other defenders upon the wall, but neither seems effective against the bowmen defending the walls - yet. Another 30 yards, however, and their javelins may be close enough to find their mark.
Party up! The tower is approachin 180 feet away.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Barb 2 - 3 rounds
Dragonkin - 2 rounds
Tower 8 rounds

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Aroden continues to drag Tiknesr's body behind the tower. Meanwhile the ratling's spirit flies beyond, searching for the mightiest foe it can possess.
Magic Jar in action now (though I won't be able to use my new body yet, even if I snare one).
.
The spell picks a foe randomly, but lets me differentiate between # of HD, and choose higher or lower. I choose high. DC 22.

Kalt Ìsson |

Seeing the barbarian fall at long last, Kalt goes off in search of the other foes who fell victim to Tik's noxious cloud.
Double move to position on map.

Shanya |

Shanya follows Sven & Kalt to the tower.
Double moving to follow the two of them.

Avora Teremocles |

Avora hurries to catch up to the others.

Avora Teremocles |

Avora brings the ankylosaurus close to the wall, planning to use its strength to bolster the defenses and shore up the walls, if necessary, or to bring it to bear if the wall is breached.

DM Ranginui |

The ratfolk begins slipping out of his body - but finds that it is he he who feels the universes misfortune, for a change. Tik's mind begins to slip not into a hydra, but rather into the nearby nauseated dragonkin - which proves too alien for the ratfolk to handle. The creature fights off the possession and Tik finds himself thrust back into his body.
The rest of the heroes advance closer to the oncoming tower. As they pass the dragonkin and the barbarian, they see that the drakeland soldiers are slowly finding their feet - the dragonkin's eyes flash with a fiery hatred of the strange aliens that would humiliate him.
From the parapets, it is easy to see that huge cryohydra are easy targets - some 160' aways, and unarmored save the beasts thick hides.
Note: you might be able to assault the tower from the level of the plateau, but the hydra are well below the walls - maybe 50'. Magic, flight, or arrow is needed to attack them directly. They're still "off map" - in abstract space.
Party up!
Barb 2 - 2 rounds
Dragonkin - 1 rounds
Tower 7 rounds
will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Kalt Ìsson |

Kalt takes a step closer to the foe before him and strikes!
5-foot step, full attack with Lead Blades.
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (5, 6, 2) + 7 + 9 = 29
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack, iterative: 1d20 + 10 - 3 ⇒ (8) + 10 - 3 = 15
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (6, 5, 5) + 7 + 9 = 32

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Shoved back into the gem, Tik's soul groans and grinds with frustration, but tries again.
Again tries to possess a foe. From the spell, "You cannot determine the exact creature types or positions of these creatures. In a group of life forces, you can sense a difference of 4 or more HD between one creature and another and can determine whether a life force is powered by positive or negative energy." Do I sense a subset of foes that are 4 or more HD higher than those around them? About how many of those do I sense? (200' range)

DM Ranginui |

Tik: You can any number of lesser souls fighting about you, for sure, but none of the major entities (the barbarian, dragonkin or two cryohydras) seem to be differentiable from one another.
Kalt find's that his powerful strings simply aren't well-placed - the only manage to deflect off the dragonkin's thick hide instead of penetrating.
Shana, Avora, Lana are up!

Avora Teremocles |

Avora moves forward, directing the ankylosaur towards the dragonkin(?),

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Red, to catch you up from my end, I cast Magic Jar a few rounds ago. One round ago I tried to possess something (one of the nauseated dragonkin, it turned out) but it made its save. This last round I tried my luck again (focusing on the highest HD thing/s in the direction of the siege tower. Did I succeed?

Avora Teremocles |

At Avora's command, the ankylosaurus moves around Shanya, bringing its formidable tail to bear against the dragon.
Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28 Damage: 3d6 + 12 ⇒ (6, 6, 6) + 12 = 30
As the beast follows her instructions, Avora comes around the corner of the building, speaks the words to a spell, and a lightning bolt crashes down from the heavens towards the scaly warriors.
Casting call lightning at one of the dragonkin (pick one).
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5 (DC 17 Reflex for half)

Kalt Ìsson |

Thanks for getting us going again, Red!
Kalt continues to press the attack against the dragon, his magically weighted blade crashing into it hard!
5-foot step, full attack with lead blades.
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (3, 6, 4) + 7 + 9 = 29
+1 Greatsword, Power Attack, iterative: 1d20 + 10 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 3 = 16
+ 1 Greatsword damage, Power Attack: 3d6 + 7 + 9 ⇒ (1, 2, 6) + 7 + 9 = 25

DM Amazing Red |

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Tik can feel his souls slip away from the jar and he finds himself in the body of the Triaxian. The dragonkin is smashed in the face by an angry dinosaur.
Fort vs Anky Stun: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Avora, Call Lightning takes a full round to cast.
Kaly steps up and slashes at the dragonkin, cutting through its scales once. Everyone else!

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Thanks--and apologies that you're starting your stint with us while I've got Magic Jar running. I certainly wouldn't have cast it in my first round with a new DM. ;-)
.
At any rate, I have a guess as to which one that is on the map, but to be clear is it the one I outlined in Red? Am I holding a weapon? Assuming that's true...
Well, this is interesting! Hehehehehehe, the Old Rat thinks as he feels the strength in his borrowed body.
The Triaxian raises his weapon overhead and charges at the dragon, screaming in draconic, "Now's when you die, you miserable excuse for a lizard's runt." Spittle flies from his mouth and freezes in his beard as he swings and laughs.
Let me know if you want me to roll when I'm attacking in a body I've jarred into. If so, I'll need to know the stats I'm borrowing. More generally, if you have guidance for how you'd like me to (or not to) play this rather confusing spell, just let me know. Thanks.
.
Also, how far away are the cryohydras now?

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Bastard Sword: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (16) + 14 = 30
Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
I'm not sure I am able to make use of his feats. If I can, then YES I'll add Power Attack in. Either way, does the +5 to damage include using it 1-handed or 2-handed? I'll definitely swing 2H.
.
Thanks for the note on the hydras. I'm particularly keeping an eye out for when they're ~200' away (since that's my medium spell range) so I'd like to know when they get that close (if they aren't already).

Avora Teremocles |

Avora will indeed change her action, swapping the target of the lightning bolt for the dragonkin.

DM Amazing Red |

Shanya moves forward rapier drawn.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Her weapon bounces off the reptile's thick hide. The dragonkin, on his last legs fights to the end.
1d4 ⇒ 1
His wrath is turned upon Kalt!
Claw: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Claw: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25
1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Bite: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Then the party easily defeats him as there is little life left in him. Combat Over!
+1 Bastard Sword x2
+1 Fullplate x2
+1 Heavy Steel Shield x2
Elixir of Dragon Breath(Green) x2

Kalt Ìsson |

I'm confused, I thought we were in the middle of a battle, with more foes approaching. Was that just for cinematic effect, and we just had to resolve a little piece of it with this fight?

Tiknesr Th'th'th'th'slifp |

Speaking in the voice of the burly Triaxian he's possessing, Tik says, "Aroden, can you bring my gem closer to the wall, until those cryohydras get closer?
"And...one or more of you might want to kill the warrior body I'm in, otherwise it'll regain it's senses when I move on to another body, and that could be...inconvenient, eh?
"Heheheheheh ho ho ho ho ho, hee hee hee hee hee."
He kneels and bares his neck. "Go ahead. He won't feel any pain, I don't think...and I always find pain in others' bodies fascinating.
"By the way, when those towers get close enough, I'm going to try to cause a bit of trouble over there. Wish me luck...and please do keep my body safe!"
As soon as the towers are 200' away, Tik will attempt to possess the highest HD thing near the towers (hoping for a hydra, but he'll take what he can get).

Kalt Ìsson |

Anyone have any buffs they'd like to drop on the group? Maybe a nice blessing of fervor from Lana just as the fight starts again? If so, we should get closer together.
Also, Kalt is down 26 hp from that last attack, so some healing would be appreciated.
Kalt begins moving back toward Lana and Tik's body, calling out as he strides across the frozen ground, "Let's regroup, we'll want to be closer together if we're going to use any magic before they get here."
Hearing the Triaxian warrior speak, and then giggle in Tik's peculiar way, Kalt's eyes widen and he asks, "I know nothing of these things. It won't harm you if we kill him while you're in him? Either way, if you want him dead, come kneel over here and I'll see to it."
Two double moves gets him adjacent to Lana.

Sven Bjornson |
Sven leaves the dispatching of Tik's stolen body to Kalt and moves closer to Avora.
"Form up! It's not over."
Sven can channel but it's pretty anemic.

Kalt Ìsson |

I can, I just wanted to be sure I had the timing right. Can Tik still control it if Kalt has cut off the guy's head? Or do I need to kill the warrior after Tik makes the leap to controlling a bad-ass hydra? If it's the latter, let's tie up the warrior so we can coup de grace him. Either way, yes, Kalt will take care of that.
