DM Ranginui |
Want to try the door, or continue down the hall?
If Kalt wants to scout, go ahead and give me a pre-emptive stealth roll. I'm sure it will come up sooner or later, door or no.
DM Ranginui |
I think we might be suffering from reign of summer :) Did you guys have a plan, or did you just wish to sneak up?
DM Ranginui |
Good old Sven, stealthy as kitten.
In lieu of a plan from anyone, I would say that under Kalt's guidance the four stealthy-types (Avora, Shanya, Greta and Kalt) are able to get within one move away from either foe. (I'll put some tokens on the map for them right now)
Every one else will need to start a about 30' back from the edge of the room to avoid spoiling the stealth. You can still participate in a surprise round at distance, however.
Avora Teremocles |
Are the plant and the satyr within 10 feet of each other? If so, Avora has a plan.
DM Ranginui |
Not in the moment, no. But they move around from time to time, and occasionally pass within 10' of each other.
Avora Teremocles |
I am going to be taking a little vacation starting Thursday and through Saturday the 25th. I expect to be able to post regularly during this time, but if I get behind, please bot me as necessary. If you are in one of my games, just be patient, please. I shall try to check in daily, at a minimum.
Ankih Tohep |
At new house, still moving and such n no internet here, just phone. Also books r packed.
Question: is See Invisibility a personal spell? Or can I cast it on someone else? And is it a range or touch spell? If it is ranged, Ankih would pull out his scroll and cast it on Sven or Kalt, whomever isn't blind. If not he would pull it out and call one of them back to him.
Shanya |
Sorry I haven't been posting lately--been going through an episode of burnout on RPGs and thesis editing. I'll get a post up shortly.
DM Ranginui |
Starting Thursday I'll be at PaizoCon for the week (as will Sven and Kalt), so expect light to no posting for those days.
DM Ranginui |
Still being irresponsible at PaizoCon! Hope everyone is having a good memorial day weekend!
Avora Teremocles |
I have a convention this weekend and will likely not have a chance to post Friday through Sunday. Please bot me as necessary and I will catch up when I return.
Kalt Ìsson |
Y'all - I'll be camping this weekend, and thus limited in my ability to post. Returning Monday night.
DM Ranginui |
I pinged Chakka 9 days ago asking for an update on their situation, with no response.
I am happy to wait longer, but you folks might be looking at a drop.
I wouldn't mind it if someone would take over running his character (no minor challenge, being a theurge) in the meanwhile.
Kalt Ìsson |
All of this is meant to be conveyed in a quick series of glances amongst our brave party members:
Any reason we shouldn't just attack the witch? Discuss.
Kalt Ìsson |
Such an articulate arching of your eyebrow, Sven! I know just what you mean to convey!
DM Ranginui |
You are looking for a couple of artifacts. Keys, essentially, to navigate the hut to a different plane, and to free Baba Yaga.
Avora Teremocles |
Mother, maiden, and crone. That's what grandpapa used to tell me.
As if hoping that Sven could read her mind, Avora crinkles her nose and gives a look that says that she agrees. This one may be useful.
DM Ranginui |
...note that you don't know precisely what they keys look like, but the helpful crows did give you hints:
Amulet hints (from the ravens), redux:
“This amulet holds only one of the three clues you seek. It reveals the first ingredient for Baba Yaga’s kettle. Look for this key where time catches up to us all.” This amulet had the rune for "dragon".
From the second raven:
“You have taken upon yourselves a great burden,” Rozum caws, “for that which you desire, the changeling holds. now this as well—you will find the Crone only when the moon wanes.”
This amulet is inscribed with the sign for gold.
Kalt Ìsson |
Have we been awarded hero points as we level, or only for particular heroic actions? I've been pretty sparing in my use of them, but I'm not sure what the rate of accumulation is.
Lana Shahakh |
I'm heading out tomorrow on a camping trip, and will be back next Tuesday or Wednesday... or possibly Thursday, depending on how lonely the bears are. I won't be posting during that time.
DM Ranginui |
I haven't found occasion to award them as of yet. The rate of accumulation is 1/level.
Kalt Ìsson |
I'll take that as an indicator of insufficient heroism, then, and adjust my behavior accordingly. At a rate of 1 hero point/level, I should have had 3 when we started this dungeon, and I've used one, so I've got 2 now.
Will do a 'cheat death' moment, methinks.
Shanya |
I thought talking our way past GurraGurra would have earned me a Hero Point, at least...
Shanya |
Apparently, you CAN make a Fortitude save each round to break out of the petrification.
Well, as long as the gorgon doesn't breathe on you again. Then you're SOL.
Kalt Ìsson |
Oh, well that changes things. Not cheating death, no sirree. Just standing very still for a moment.
Shanya |
"GM, I understand that Lana and I are quite charismatic and capable, but there are a few noticeable differences in our appearances."
"For instance, Lana is a statue."
;)
Avora Teremocles |
I am going on a working vacation starting on the 30th until July 17 or so. I should be able to get on at least once a day to check in on things, but there may be a day or two without access here or there. (I'm going to Georgia to be with my family and give the grandparents a break from taking care of the niece and nephew.) If you are in my game, please bear with me and I will update as often as possible. If I am in your game and seem slow, you know why. Thanks.
Kalt Ìsson |

If we are looking at a drop, I happened to notice that Mug, who played the inimitable Bugsby Featherfoot in the early days of this game, and quit PbP for a while due to having a kid, is back on the boards. I don't know how y'all feel about second chances, but if we're considering a replacement, we could ping him. He's a lot of fun.
Kalt Ìsson |
Rango - as the master of this game, what's your take on inviting back our former arcane caster? Do you feel we've given Ankih enough time to return to us?
DM Ranginui |
I have no objection to you reinviting Chakka. There have been no posts from Ankih in 7 weeks, so yes it has been long enough.
A witch would make sense as a character, given where you are, but of course I can work in most anything. Bringing Bugsby back specifically would call for a rather supreme suspension of disbelief, and I would be disinclined (although the Geas laid upon him would give him a strong impetus to follow.).
Kalt Ìsson |
Ok, I'll shoot Mug a note. As to suspending disbelief - I don't really have a problem with it, as we pretty rapidly leave that bit behind us in the story. I can easily picture Bugsby shuffling through the snow, crying out that he's finally caught up to us, and we roll with the tale from there.
But let's see if he's available first, then we can sort out who he plays and how he joins us.
Kalt Ìsson |
I just heard back from Mug, and he's very interested in returning. I'll tell him to post back here and we can get a conversation going about how that plays out.
Bugsby Featherfoot |
Heyeveryone! Sososossosososososossososssssssoooooo gladtoseethegame'sstillgoing! Ijustdon'tknowhoweveryonesurvivedthislongwithoutme! Divineinterventionormaybeoneofyouinheritedmyluckystreak...
lol Seriously though, so awesome that game's still going and with such a tight group and really great GM. Really props to everyone.
Ankih was lost to the dark depths of no-more-posts-land eh? Always a sucky way to go. So thinking of allowing Bugsby back in eh?
