I'd say play with what you're happy with, but if your looking for advice, I think you would have some fun mixing buff, debuff, and offensive spells. There's also a lot of fun to be had with clerics that can stop combat before it even starts with diplomacy and some SLAs. Once had a cleric of Shelyn in a PFS Scenario that allowed us to go through the entire thing with no attack rolls and two spells cast on a stripping dwarf.

An open question for everyone applying: what do you like your party cleric to be able to do? I feel like divine casters can afford to focus more on their parties needs over their own in what spells they prepare, seeing they can cast anything on their list regardless.

I say think about who Seldon is, how Seldon perceives he fits into the world around him.

The kinds of spells that Seldon would pick on his own should flow naturally from that perspective.

Seldon, as a solo wandering Cleric, doesn't pick a spell because he might find himself in a combat working with a barbarian. He probably does pick spells based on avoiding trouble or simplifying his attempts to meet his own basic needs while he travels. Here in town, the spells he prepares will still be based on how he perceives his role in the festivities.

Understand Seldon, and the question answers itself.

Ignore Seldon in order to answer the question, and you end up defining his personality based on mechanical convenience.

Just an opinion.

I have now reviewed all submissions, if you got a PM, then there were somethings I was looking for you to change and to answer

As much as I wanted to stick to 4, I have decided on six people. As of right now, I know exactly who has made it in, but will give time for people to correct issues and for last minute people to finish and to see if anyone changes my mind.

And also cause I'm evil and to tease you. My profile picture is a lich after all

Argh, the suspense is killing me.

Now THAT is some expert level sucking up! Good on, ya, Mate!

Blixa is hoping that the Gobbo Pathfinder isn't part of the actual campaign because if he makes the cut, it'll just go very badly...

Hey, thats a fair call, huston. I think I'll take that approach. I find that that kind of party synergy comes not in character creation but as you level up together. I'll worry about those choices later.

Good luck to all of those that made it. I wish you luck and I hope next time I won't have to contend with a block to think up a character. :)

Play nice. :P

Still all quiet here. I should resist the urge to read all the posts in the 20 minutes before my 7o'clock train. It always leaves me disappointed while all of you Western Hemisphere folk are sleeping.

Starts humming the theme to Jeopardy.

I said good on him! What do I have to type to not have it assumed as an attack?

@blix: or maybe blix will experience a mysterious thing called, "character development" :)

rocky and awkward, but blix has already demonstrated the capacity to repress murderous rage at least for the length of time needed for a few drinks and a tale - granted while waiting to get him alone and murder him. The decision to discount consequences ('it's either him or me' as I recall) doesn't bode well though.

Everyone that I had sent reviews to have now responded back and corrected errors, which I greatly appreciate from all of you. I was going to wait until Monday to announce my picks, but I have decided to post them now as I have come to my decisions.

He waits for Zelladania to finish humming the Jeopardy Theme

For the role of Support from my lovely Bards..... Olly Ackenthrope

For the role of Divine.... Seldon Swiftheel

For the role of Arcane, and this was a hard one.... Karas Milar

For the role of Skill, second hardest category to pick from... Zelladania

For the role of Melee, hardest category as we had so many great submissions.... Noro Kasuri

But wait! There's more, due to the overwhelming great submissions from the melee group, I have decided to take one more

For the second role of Melee.... Darius Valinargus

Lastly, there were two characters that intertwined themselves with a character from the campaign so well that I would like to ask permission from their creators to be able to use them as NPC's. Those two people are Blixa Gratzuldash and Chadron Land.

Stay tuned shortly as I will be creating a new campaign thread for the kick off of this campaign

Anyone not picked, please know that your submissions were excellent and you made my life more difficult by trying to narrow down these picks.

Campaign discussion is up, if you were picked, please go here

Good luck to those selected! Try to have fun. Seriously. That's kinda the point.

Oh real nice! You take my three suggestions but not me! It is so on for Lady Natalia!

Bah! Need to once more wait on a RotRL game. Was really hoping I would join this one. Only AP I've really wanted to play in. Ah well.

@Tierce - Chadron is at your disposal. I hope the farmer lad makes good.

Best of luck to all - enjoy!

Sczarni

@Tierce: indeed, breath life into Blixa, he was fun to play in the discussion thread.
