As the main healer, I have no ranged attack so far.
As a team, should we all stay in our main career, or would it be useful to "moonlight" in a second career? I could be a cleric/ fighter, or a cleric/Barbarian maybe (as Taah is Neutral Good), to stand my ground alongside Aviel

Aviel Taithrosima |

I think with an investigator we cover the basic four rolls, divine/healing, blasty/arcane, tanky/tanky and skilly/versitile.
I just mean don't feel obligated to pick up levels in another class if you don't want to. I think Taah has enough self loathing without heaping on a dose of uncontrollable orcish rage to top it off ;)

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

Claudia Iancu |

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

Aviel Taithrosima |

Its all good, I haven't really had time to post anything substantial due to the holidays. =)
I am checking in occasionally, but will be back online on a regular basis next week.

Aviel Taithrosima |

To be fair, that was the only spot I could take that would allow Lazur to back up and still be able to target the creature.
I apologize if that came across as a criticism of the player's action, it was not my intent. I know that from a mechanics point of view the monster had already gone and I was going to move next so you weren't actually in any danger.
I will dial Aviel back a bit.

Guard Room - Post Combat Discussion
Defeated - 1 rage sinspawn. This aberration is worth 150xp per player. Adding that to your total gives a new sum of 1967/3300 or about 33% to level 3.
Injured
Taah - 11/15hp remaining
Lazur - 13/19 hp remaining; sickened almost 5 minutes
Aviel - 18/22h hp remaining
Resources Used:
Taah - cast Cure Light Wounds
Claudia - cast 1 Magic Missile
Lazur - 2 arrows fired

I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:
Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.
As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.
I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.
Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

DM DoctorEvil |

Well that's pretty disappointing...Claudia was the last of the original players. I originally started the game with the players not chosen from a different recruitment, but they have all left now.
Because of all the turnover, I have not gotten the same vibe from this game as others I run where the characters are better developed and interactive.
I am strongly considering just folding the game, and either a) starting over with new PC's or b) just running something new for you guys that I haven't run before.
Any preference?

Aviel Taithrosima |

I have played the last 3 mods of this AP, so wouldn't mind continuing to see how the first 3 turned out. That being said,if we were to start something new I wouldn't be opposed to it depending on what you had in mind.
Aviel would absolutely be up for Hell's Vengeance.

Taah Rodiu |

I have played the beginning of this AP a few times, never went very far, so I'm open to either create a new character for a new AP, or continue this one.
I really enjoy your GMing style, and the players interactions, so it would be good to keep going together, wherever we may go.
Do you have a specific new AP in mind, or should we say which ones interest us the most?

DM DoctorEvil |

Have to admit I am a little burned out on running Runelords groups. This is perhaps the 8th time I've started this story with characters and invariably attrition wipes people out.Only made it to book 2 once in all those tries.
Hell's Vengeance is running evil characters. If you mean Hell's Rebels, like Lazur does above, I could look into that. Not read or run it before, but I have all the books.
These are my top 5 choices to run, in no particular order, but I will try anything once:
1)Carrion Crown
2)Ironfang Invasion
3)War for the Crown
4)Some sort of Homebrew
5)An old 1st Edition D&D adventure like Temple of Elemental Evil reskinned for PF.
If you want to stick with RotRL, I would prefer to recruit in 2-3 more players and start from the beginning again, so you can get the feel for each other and the setting.

Aviel Taithrosima |

Put down a rebellion that threatens the stability of Chelliax? Aviel would support that move. LN is a common hellknight alignment ;)
That being said, of the top 3 options you have listed, I have not played any parts of any of them.
I don't think I am actually familiar with War for the Crown at all.

Lazur Anil |

I have been in a Carrion Crown up until book four or so and I'm in an Ironfang invasion currently. Homebrew sounds cool if you have an idea for one. War for the crown is a newer one I don't know much about. A reskinned old school one works too.

Aviel Taithrosima |

That is a tough one.
My list pretty much looks like Taah.
War
Temple
Home
Rune
To be clear, there is nothing on that list I absolutely wouldn't want to play, I would be just as happy with Rune again as with War.
So, democratically it would be War, but as for a consensus approach Temple is everyone's second choice.

DM DoctorEvil |

I am looking more discriminatingly at the WoftC stuff to see how it looks. I have the books, but haven't looked at them much. the concept of that intrigues me but I wonder if the execution is good. Haven't heard much about it, but I am leaning that way.
The free download of the Player's Guide is here if you have a mind to read and think about characters that might fit the bill.
I plan to close this thread and open a new recruitment thread tomorrow (time allowing) and I'd like your help picking teammates.
You might consider what roles you'd like each other to play so you can build a cohesive team.

Lazur Anil |

I'll probably Lazur again. He is set up to be face and skill monkey. I think everyone will want some amount of face skills. Lazur has 3 of the four: Bluff, Diplomacy and Sense Motive, missing Intimidate. I may switch to melee rather than range if we pick up a more range focused person.

Aviel Taithrosima |

Hmmmm. Some ideas.
Ratfolk swashbuckler. Super flashy with a big hat and feather. Bucklers would be swashed.
Ratfolk ninja rogue. Super sneaky assassin type. Shadows would be snuck through.
Human abjuration mage. Stern and judgemental (kind of like Aviel) "You would oppose me? Fools!"
Human magus. Merchant with Qadiran background. Deals will be struck.
Might have a few more ideas.

Aviel Taithrosima |

His name was going to be Reepi
Sounds fair, I'll have to read some more of the player guide. Taldor is humancentric, they did mention some exotic races such as fetchling and tengu.
They were just some off the cuff ideas. I think the swashbuckler might work though. He knows that he is a second class citizen, but plays up Taldorian's image of him that he is a funny animal person with impeccable manners and a suave style. He wants to see change because if the traditions can be shifted to allow women to vote then it is a step towards more respect to non-humans.
