Claudia doesn't remember much about her parents, as she was raised in an Desnan orphanage in Magnimar. A truly likeable child, Claudia made fast friends and treated people with respect, regardless of where they were from and what their current lot in life. When she came of age, her incredible natural beauty began to show, and she discovered her magical talent by nearly setting the kitchen on fire. On that day, the old Desnan priestess who ran the orphanage took Claudia into her office and gave her an iron ring with a seven pointed star on it, telling Claudia that the ring and a letter instructing Claudia to seek out Ameiko Kaijitsu of Sandpoint for help with her burgeoning ability. The priestess gave her some money for travelling and directions, as well as some baggy clothing to hide her beauty, for she knew that there were men who would prey upon such a young girl.
And so, with a fierce hug, Claudia set out towards Sandpoint. that was a month ago, and in that time she has come to master the small power she currently has. Claudia feels a definite connection to the ring left by her parents, and so she wears it at all times, as it makes her feel more comfortable.
Arriving shortly before a festival, Claudia met with Ameiko and was pointed in the direction of a Varisian caravan that had left Sandpoint about a week prior to Claudia's arrival.
After trading all of her remaining money for a ruding pony, Claudia set off after the caravan. Fortunately, the caravan was not hard to find, and after about a month of travel caught up to the caravan. While the caravan did not know of her parents, she was told that their seer was expecting her, and invited into their camp.
The old Varisian woman explained that Claudia had been chosen to fight a great evil, but would need to be tattooed in order to allow her true magic to be unlocked and controlled.
Agreeing, Claudia entered a world of pain and resting. Claudia quickly lost time as she was repeatedly tattooed in a ritual that tied her magic to her tattoos. The first tattoo she received was of a turtle, which the old seer told Claudia was her spirit animal.
The rituals finally came to an end, and Claudia discovered that the caravan had returned to Sandpoint. She would have sworn that the trip had taken years, but was shocked to discover that mere months had passed since she had set out for Sandpoint. Thanking the members of the caravan, Claudia left them and returned to the Rusty Dragon, where she learned everything that had occurred while she had been away.
Offering her services to Ameiko, Claudia was directed to meet with the Heroes of Sandpoint, where she offered her services.
